When I was in the military the orientals would eat squid and crab brains. It was pretty much not my kind of food. But you can trust the Pho I think.

Have heard / read about foods common to people of foreign nations, and am more reserved in the things I eat. Rarely go to restaurants that advertise foreign food, and all the cooks and employees are speaking their native language....

Well yeah. I just became aware that you’re supposed to know who started a thread if they are liberal or conservative, or who disagrees with you on something or who doesn’t, and there’s some sort of unspoken rule that you’re supposed to stay out of threads you “don’t belong in.” Or at least not quote and discuss a persons post who doesn’t agree with you on everything. I literally had no idea about this. I will be very bad at it because some say they are conservative but you later see they say that but that they more often have a liberal viewpoint on most things. So it’s confusing to me because just because you call yourself this or that does not mean you think and live as this or that. I know animosities exist, where the same two people want to argue about the same thing over and over again, and I skip over their posts usually, but…I didn’t have any idea about the unspoken rule until recently. It’s too confusing. I won’t be able to figure it out. I don’t have the TIME to figure it out. It takes hours and hours to unravel what’s going on between even just two people and there are a LOT of people in here, and I never have been able to figure out social cues. You have to speak extremely specific to me because social subtleties go right over my head. I’m missing a…social cues chip or something. It’s been lifelong. I graduated top 5% of my class, I can handle involved information, but throw some unspoken social cue at me and I’m the most obtuse mess you ever did see.
Just so, sister! Sometimes it takes a long time for some of us to learn where people are because they will display a label like conservative or liberal but their definition is quite different from what the word means to you or to me.

When the forum had fewer people or posts or I was faster at reading I used to try to initiate discussion with each new person. I cannot do that any more so sometimes I will find myself in the middle of a mess of which I want no part at all.

When and if I finally, if ever, do identify a person's agenda and it is simply too far away for me he/she joins those I purposely avoid. I really wish this was not so... but it is as it must be. We need God's direction here to even decide whether to engage or not...

WOW, YUM. Pancakes, Waffles...with blueberries...a regular at our house. I don't typically favor blue food, but blueberries alone or in pancakes an exception.

Yeah, but do you eat mexican food? We used to go to this carne asada burrito shop down in San Diego when I lived there with my ex. And then I just stopped going, must have been all the flies buzzing around in the burrito shop. I'm impartial to eating flies in my burritos. But yeah I still eat mexican food. But I'm picky where I eat now.

My after high school girlfriend was from New Zealand and she tried to feed me cow tongue once. Once.

Sounds like when I shop at Aldi grocery store...

"I'm sorry, we don't have that any more. That was a seasonal item."

@youWouldn'tLikeMeWhenI'mAngry

Sort of like "CIDER" is "seasonal" I like that also, but perfer it hot, so don't care it's typically available during the "cool season".

But "eggnog"... should be year round...LIKE chocolate...a staple...LOL
