Its almost become like every man searches scripture to confirm over and over again what they’ve been taught.
The more I search it, the more I find that mans doctrines are horribly flawed.

People often say we are just picking and choosing which words of God to believe and which words of God not to believe. I have seen this in myself, so of course I agree with it! I want us to post things in here that Jesus said that we have come to see at some point we weren’t believing and how He made us see we weren’t believing it. It doesn’t matter if you are still struggling to believe and be firm in it or if you are now firm in it, just that you have seen or did see your mistrust on it.

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24

We alll struggle with unbelief, and full reliance on the providence of God, a Humble heart will acknowledge his or her unbelief as this father did in the scripture above and realize their need in this area.

Good post, God bless

Yes, I didn't mean to say that Paul put it off to the distant future, but rather those who heard his explanation which was not yet conclusive, still to remain a mystery.

However, as for the mystery, it is not that it is now still unknown...but always unknown. And as I said before, there is only one day or date that qualifies to be "that day" that only the Father knows-- that day of the Lord's coming. Which day and date the Lord has already said, but is still misunderstood.

If someone said "That day" and gave a date, it would not be true for everyone, because "each comes in his own order" 1 Corinthians 15:23, which rules out any singular mass future event. If another said, "That day" and gave a season, he may be close...but it is a guess, because he still does not know the day nor the hour.

No, there is only one day which no one knows the day or hour, that is the day of "each coming in his own order"--in death (which is the second resurrection). This is the day and hour when all the clocks stop--the time of the end ("each in his own order"), when the dead in Christ rise first, but are last to be born of the Spirit, and when the living in Christ rise last, but are first to be born of the Spirit. As it is written, "So the last will be first, and the first last." Matthew 20:16

I love talking with you guys so much. I just really do.

And then throw in THIS!
How does He come in secret and suddenly like lightning flashes, when men least expect it AND come from Bozrah with His robes stained red AND come when every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him.

And how is it that when He comes again, (if it’s at the end of the tribulation) that men will be marrying and partying and drinking? Have you READ about the tribulation? No man will be having parties or planning wedding feasts, for crying out loud, so that’s not where THAT verse goes.

When Jesus said we would do greater works than He did...

I have trouble with that, not because I think it's impossible but I feel it is far above me. Like I still have a long way to go seeking God before Im flowing in the same miracles, signs, and wonders that Jesus did.
Wynona,

Jesus, in making that statement, simply qualified signs and wonders and miracles done in the world (those of which He spoke), as being less than what we could and would do in the Spirit. Which is to say, "The Spirit is greater than the flesh."

The world is passing away. Therefore, we do well to train our ideas of miracles toward our Father who is in heaven.

Blessings!

Could be compared to politics too...it's when someone just wants to "be right", they stay only to their original "belief", never being moved to look at ALL the other options. Silly really, can never learn or grow that way.

This is that one mass event-- not in the world as Him coming a second time as men imagine. But rather, as Him coming, "that we should be where He is", which is in heaven.

When the clocks stop (when the end comes) for us each in our own order...we leave in our own order. But because the clocks have stopped-- We arrive together, where "every eye shall see."

Very thought provoking Scott.

We should do a comparison of time with eternity...

Maybe…
I tend to think it’s a repeat of Him coming from 3 places and times, as with His birth.
Thought provoking though.

Oh, and what about the one…if He had not cut that time short, no flesh would have survived.
Hmm….might He cut the 7 years short…?

But Byrd is good at bringing up a verse you may not have considered into your thoughts.
Problem is, you have to try to figure out from what he’s said WHICH verse he’s referring to.

Hey, unrelated to anything we were just talking about, I never noticed this:

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

He makes a distinction between the work produced by trusting Him and labor.
