Are you worried you will go to jail when you drive down the street obeying the speed limit, the traffic laws and driving sensibly - intending to obey the laws and not breaking any that you are aware of? You shouldn't be.
Going to Jail is being punished for a crime, It would be likened to being chastened by God. I don;t know maybe you have not been chastened before? Let me tell you its no fun.

But its not the same as getting kicked out of your family because you screwed up.

I don't "worry" about losing eternal life; but you better believe I'm confident God will deal with me if I step outta line. And I'm grateful for that. My faith is more solid than a decade ago - through much trial and tribulation. I have no worry about losing my salvation, but I know for certain that I could if I were to throw away all the wonderful things God has given me and reject His divine protection and guidance. If I were to return to the deep sinful waters that I was pulled from, I would be in danger of drowning in them.

Psalms 18:16-20

You know for sure God will kick you out of his family.

Yet tell me your not worried?

Forgive me if I can not believe you. You are depending on yourself to keep yourself. Not God to keep you.

I see it no other way

The scriptures you posted below are for ALL born again believers, regardless of denomination. The contrast between the regenerated and the unregenerated person regarding constant or habitual sinning is clearly seen in 1 John 3:9.

The believer, we learn, does not have the sin habit. Neither do the redeemed defiantly continue in sin. However, the OSAS people admit to continual sin, claiming they are always saved. I notice you say you are washed in the blood of the Lamb. That does not compute with 1 John 3.

Those who admit to continual sinning cannot be among the redeemed, because as 1 John 3:9 reminds us, "Whoever is born of God cannot sin.

Pride within the ranks of the OSAS community may be the stumbling block, as it is with all self-righteous people.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11 KJV)

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV)

And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. (Luke 7:48 KJV)

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. (Romans 4:7 KJV)

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (Ephesians 2:1 KJV)

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9 KJV) (OSAS people need to examine themselves.)

By definition salvation (being the gift of eternal life), is forever.

Still, there are many who are confused by the ongoing sin of people who claim to be saved. This is a great misunderstanding-- but it does not mean that salvation can be lost. And yes, there are many scriptures that can be cherry picked and presented to argue the point...but that does not take anyone who is actually saved, having been born [again] of the spirit of God, out of His hand, or that they can loose their salvation, because: It is no longer you who live, but God who lives-- salvation means you gave you life to God...and God is forever.

Yes, there are many ways you can ho hum your way around thinking about actually giving your life to God, but if and when you totally do surrender your life to God and give it to Him, it is finished: You are forever "in God" and He in you--and He is forever.

"God is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

So...now the matter of ongoing sin:

Just as Peter, having been "washed clean" by Christ, was embodied by Satan, causing Jesus to say "Get behind me Satan" to Peter...after we are born again of the spirit of God we can sin in the flesh without loosing our salvation-- Why? Because "we are alive and remain" in the world. This is the stumbling block that causes people to believe they can lose their salvation. But, again, this is a misunderstanding of what actually occurs. At no other time in history, not even those times when most of the scriptures were written, have people died and lived on in the flesh. These are those times...and the terms are different. And yes, it is written of in the scriptures-- If you don't know of them, keep searching, nocking, and asking.

Nonetheless, if you are saved, having been born again of the spirit of God, it is no longer you who lives, but God who lives...and He is forever. While you remain in the world...your old flesh is still subject to death and decay..and sin. But that body of flesh is passing away, just as all the world is passing away...and this is why we are counselled to remain faithful to the end--because it is as if we have been left in the grave, in death...without which we could not survive without faith and the knowledge that it is no longer we who live, but God who lives in us.

And we are here to serve--that is why we are left in the world...not to act out of our fleshly old bodies, but rather, to walk in the newness of life-- that life we have been given in the Spirit. Walk in the spirit.

So, yes, it is a daily labor to keep the old flesh under subordination of the spirit of God. But it is in Him that we have the strength to do so.

Until the End.

A point to make. Eternal life is defined as a personal relationship with the Lord. If you look at the parables the say depart from me I never knew you you’ll see they did not possess eternal life.

That's not your fault. Some simply cannot 'see.'

If it's any consolation, you are in the company of the masses. No need to ever feel alone. You may rest well at night in the comfort of knowing the vast majority of the world sees things just as you do.

And clearly they were believers and doing many works in God's name. They were shocked to discover they were being rejected by Him.

Yes, and of course you/He meant He never knew those who hide behind part of the truth claiming it to be all, and not entering in, while hindering those who would.

Good thing I quoted you revealing your true self and that you only believe half of the scriptures...'cause you went back and deleted it. Here it is again:
I misunderstood you, in fact I did not have a clue what you were talking about. I thought you were talking about Pharisees verses Jesus. Jesus being half of my understanding and the Pharisee the other half.

The fruit of your position (not reconciling all of the scriptures) would say otherwise, that it was a freudian slip.

But if you mean the make a change...that would be good.

That does not describe salvation.

When one is [actually] saved, it is no longer they who live, but God who lives.

In other words, a saved person is One with Jesus and the Father (just as Jesus prayed)...and they being One cannot loose their salvation.

You are not reconciling all of scripture...and half-truths are false doctrine, the teachings of men.

Take this response.

Point it to a mirror

And read it back to yourself

Because it is very applicable to you

also please not. I said I can not believe you. Not that I can not believe God.. You showed your true self by ignoring the rest of my post.

I will pray for you

Ok, I think I'm finally understanding this.

So, are you saying a saved person is in Christ?

Well, thank you for the prayers.

You may have forgotten that the masses actually do not agree with me. See, I'm in the minority ... so it doesn't really apply to me. Those who are NOSAS are on the narrow road. They are the exception.

It's ok, maybe you just ignored the rest of my post.

actually, if you look at all the worlds religions. NOSAS (the belief that salvation must be earned and can be lost) is the most popular belief, Be it Islam, Judaism, Mormanism, Catholicism etc etc.(the list goes on and on)

True faith believers who solely rely on Christ to save them according to their faith is the narrow Gate.

nice try though

I was referring to Christendom. Obviously.

We're discussing a Christian doctrine. It's called Once Saved Always Saved and it's in reference to the Christian religion and the Bible. The vast majority of Christendom believe OSAS because that's the fast food garbage that is mass marketed in modern mainstream churchianity. YOUR denomination.

Even if I'd made it that specific, you'd still have moved the goal posts on me. It's about the only option you have when being publicly door-matted and demoralized. I understand. This too shall pass. Hang in there.

Absolutely. And even as Paul stated, "for me, to live is Christ ."
You walked right into that one.

Christ speaking:
"Every branch IN ME that beareth not fruit He taketh away ... If a man abide not IN ME, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned."

Check mate.

NOSAS wins again.
