The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

So was the Law of Moses and the Old Covenant.

The operative word being was.

And so, the 10 commandments written in the Old Covenant law of Moses were forever.

Now only 9 of them are written in the New Covenant law of Christ.

The whole law of God was changed after the cross:

For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Yeah!

It's always been a historical mystery how Jesus' disciples, and all his later followers for the next 3 centuries, never got that memo. Nobody is sure how that happened, but the leading theories involve poor technology in those days and terrible Wi-Fi.

No need for all that.

They were just those disciples such as yourself, that weren't reading the Scriptures of the apostles.

I really don't go along to believe and do things for Christ, just because of bunch of others are:

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

And since, you have no refute from the correction, then no doubt you just keep on doing what you like to do.

Which is fine, but as for your personal law, you can keep that for yourself.

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

You didn't answer my question: what does your Bible say about observing the speed limit or how much TV is acceptable to watch?
You didn't answer my question either, so we're even.
You are either under law or under grace. You can post as many out-of-context verses as you want but that won't change the fundamental truth of Christianity.
"Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters." - 1 Cor. 7:19

"Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." - Rev. 14:12

Explain to me, o wise one, how i took these passages "out of context" when they clearly prove that the NT reinforces commandment-keeping.

Here it is in context...

Paul wrote this to the church in Galatia, "For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit." Galatians 3:10-14
Man, you are such a hypocrite. You accuse me of supposedly taking passages out of context, and yet you're blatantly doing it yourself. Not only are you incorrectly using this Galatians passage in an attempt to argue against commandment-keeping, you don't even realize what "law" Paul is even referring to here. Matter of fact, nobody was even arguing that God's commandments or other laws should be kept to acquire forgiveness, so how could you possibly reach the conclusion that i said that they could forgive someone?

Right.

Well, you definitely know what you're talking about.

The disciples who walked with Jesus stopped preparing His body for burial to observe the Sabbath, just as He had done all His life, and obviously made clear to them He expected them to continue to do as well.
Luke 23:54-56

Paul was a keeper of all of the 10 Commandments long after Jesus' crucifixion.
Acts 21:24
He and Barnabas observed the Sabbath, and taught in the synagogues on that day ONLY. NOT on Sunday.
Acts 13:42

Emperor Constantine changed the Sabbath day to Sunday not long after the turn of the 4th century. Up to that point, many Christians were still observing the proper Biblically declared Saturday Sabbath.

But this thread is about the 10 Commandments.

Ironically, that's exactly what you're doing in your denial of God's 10 Commandments.

You are embracing the popular traditions of men. Casting aside what the scripture actually teaches.

The existence of God is evident in nature; they have no excuse except anger toward's someone. Usually it is seeing all the horrors in the world, and deep down they believe if God did exist, why didn't he stop the mayhem. That is why they are angry at God. They should be angry at Satan.
The atheist doesn't believe in Satan either. They don't believe God is apparent in all of nature and all in nature is therefore proof God exists.

I think in order to understand what atheists are we have to take the time to learn what they don't accept as true. That may help in erasing the confusion you have about atheists and atheism. And others who aren't aware of what atheism entails and what atheists don't believe.

Yeah, that's what we need to do. Get to know ATHEISTS better.

Good call.

Got any more of that Atheist literature to share with us?

That's good stuff.

The context of Romans 5:15-19 is, all in Adam, all in Christ. Adam and Jesus did for us what we did not do for ourselves.....for all people ....no personal choice involved.
The message we share with all people is the Good news that they are (past tense) reconciled to God through Jesus. What they do with that is then their choice. They can embrace it with gratitude or they can disbelieve it and push it from them.

Folk who embrace it undergo a radical change in their thinking and behaving (they begin a journey of learning and growing which accompanies them the rest of their earthy walk)....it is this gift of the Spirit which changes them...it is a down payment of what is promised, namely eternal life....realised in totality physically at Jesus return.

So then you keep the Sabbath. Do you worship anywhere in particular, i.e., attend church? Which day do you go to church. I know a man who rests all day on Saturday, and goes to church on Sunday, hence the question.

Also it seems you believe in universalism? That all are saved? How if they keep sinning?

I think we can easily suss it out by taking the Bible as a whole, as well as comparing all that John said in 1 John. Like 1 John 2:6 for example in comparison to John 15:10. Yeah, kinda hard to escape that one.

John 15:10 shows that there IS a difference between the Father's commandments (the 10 Commandments) and Christ's commands to believe in Him and to love one another.

And 1 John 2:6 is to walk sinlessly per our new born again nature that is like His. In the New Covenant is where we are given the seed of the Father to no sin, period. 1 John 3:9.

Atheists do not have much time left to dally around in unbelief. With an asteroid possibly hitting the earth in 2029 (Rev. 8), minus 7 year GT, this year is the start of the GT and the end of the fullness of the Gentiles coming into the Church.

2 Thes. 2:8-12
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Your doctrine is all over the place. The fact is that you really don't have a rock-solid doctrine, you just bob and weave to avoid being cornered on a particular point.

John 15:10 proves without any debate that Jesus kept all of the 10 Commandments. And because we know that His disciples kept the Sabbath after His crucifixion Luke 23:54-56, that is proof positive that they kept all the rest of the 10 because ... well, that would make zero sense otherwise.

1 John 2:6 is plainly telling anyone who claims to abide in the ways of Christ to live as He lived; thus obeying all 10 Commandments as I've proven above. Especially when read through from 1 John 2:3-6.

You guys will say absolutely anything to keep from admitting you're wrong about God's Word. That's the proof that you have no real commitment to Truth or to those Christians who are still learning God's Ways.

Revelation 8 is not an Asteroid. It already took place with the Chernobyl event many years ago. Many facts of the event match the scripture perfectly. Right down to the name of the facility Chernobyl = Wormwood.

There will be no Asteroid from outer space.

My doctrine is solid. The problem is you believe in the Old Covenant, and just add Jesus, but not His gospel. The New Covenant has all the commandments, but are deeper to the heart. You can only comprehend the letter and Jesus as a man, but are clueless when it comes to the deeper spiritual understanding.

14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Right.

Well, you definitely know what you're talking about.

Luke 23:54-56

The disciples who walked with Jesus stopped preparing His body for burial to observe the Sabbath.

So, you see how once you go back to the time of the OT and the law of Moses, then you lose all credibility for teaching law of Christ in the NT.

Using disciples of the Jews still trying to keep the law of Moses, is no way to try and teach example of the apostles to all Christians in the NT.

Christ's OT ended and His NT began with Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

Ironically, that's exactly what you're doing in your denial of God's 10 Commandments.

I deny the Sabbath is Christ's commandment to His people. The other 9 are written in His doctrine by His apostles, after His resurrection, which is when His Old Covenant ended with His law to Moses, and His New Covenant began with His law to His apostles.

You are embracing the popular traditions of men. Casting aside what the scripture actually teaches.

I embrace the common salvation of Jesus Christ by His faith in His Scriptures of the NT, casting aside any other teaching of men, whether popular or not. You embrace something you said was really popular among disciples int he early centuries A.D. Which of course is never written as commandment of Jesus in their Scriptures.

Which is obvious, because you can't quote one where we are commanded to keep the Sabbath day, even as we are commanded to honor our mother and father:

Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

Scripture says this is the first commandment with promise, which in the OT was after that of the Sabbath. The law of the Sabbath only brought death if transgressed. There was no promise gained for doing so in this life, nor in the next.

Paul was a keeper of all of the 10 Commandments long after Jesus' crucifixion.

Paul was a keeper of the great commandments of Christ, as well as 9 other listed comman dments in the Scripture of the apostles.

Paul also went where the Jews were gathered together on their Sabbath days to preach the gospel of Jesus, and he was allowed to join them as a Jew.

After shaking his garment at them, to finally go only to the Gentiles, as Jesus commanded him long before, we read no more of Paul going to the Jews on their Sabbath day, nor of Paul doing keeping any Sabbath day.

To this day, the Jews' religion is now only of the Jews, and not of Jesus Christ, whom they crucified and have not repented. It includes the Jews Sabbath, the Jews feast of tabernacles, the Jews outward circumcision on the 8th day, etc...None of which is honored of God and is counted for unbelief in His dear Son.

He and Barnabas observed the Sabbath, and taught in the synagogues on that day ONLY. NOT on Sunday.

See above on why they were there. Also, Paul preached on any day the gospel of Christ, whensoever a door of opportunity was opened unto Him by the Lord, which many times was daily.

Emperor Constantine changed the Sabbath day to Sunday.

He could do whatever he wanted in religion of the state. Neither Christ nor any Christian should care. I don't care what day someone wants to keep a day of worship and rest, so long as they aren't trying to make it as by law.,and so become lawgivers about it and false judges of others. (James 4)

But this thread is about the 10 Commandments.

Which is not true, but is a disingenuous door for your law.

This thread is only about your Sabbath commandment. I could probably look through all the threads, and rarely see any other of the commandments discussed in any manner. I have done so here to show how the commandment to honor mother and father is written for us to obey as commanded by Christ.

If this were about the Ten Commandments written on stone at Sinai, then no doubt you would have written and discussed them all. i don't see them on your first thread at all. Have you listed and written about them anywhere else?

I do enjoy a good dispute in the Scriptures, which is what the apostles and Apollos was known for, being mighty in the Scriptures, so long as I am disputing with someone credibly responding to points made. You appear to be doing so.

So, here is a simple test of your veracity to answer honestly to specific points made:

I challenged the Sabbath commanders on another thread, about how they must eliminate themselves from having any career, duty, or service that would compel working on their special Sabbath day, whichever day that is for them.

And so, they cannot be: military. Police. Firefighter, Politician, Emergency healthcare, emergency service providers of any sort, corporate managers and executives, pro-sports, home delivery drivers, truckers, etc...

Sabbath keepers by law can only do work of self-employment, or labor that requires no work on their sabbath day.

They can't even volunteer without pay on their Sabbath day, because work is work is work.

You know what they told me?

They get 'special' exemption for 'emergency work. And, some of them even 'donate their pay' to their 'favorite charities', when they Do WORK on their Sabbath day.

And so we see how only commandments of men are given 'special exemptions', because such law of men are not real law at all.

God's law has no exemptions: a fornicator is a fornicator is a fornicator.

And if the law of Christ still commanded Sabbath day keeping, then a worker is a worker is a worker, and any Christian doing any of their work, job, career, etc... on the Sabbath day is become a fornicator to God, because transgressing any point of law is to transgress all. (James 2)

So, what say you? You got special dispensations for your fellow Sabbath commanders to do their work on your Sabbath day?

Are they 'forgiven' for doing so, if they are commanded to do so, in order to keep their jobs or careers?

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

It seems to me that the veil is what those people wear on their hearts that don't see that the 10 Commandments were always valid and never repealed by God or any scripture.

That'd be why Jesus obeyed them as an example to us, and why His disciples and followers did as well. Those who actually wrote those very words in scripture had the veil lifted from their hearts so they could see the Truth of God's Word.

The Law of Liberty is made plainly to be the 10 Commandments in scripture.

What does the term 'Christian' mean, Rob?

No, the thread is about the 10 Commandments, just as the OP makes plain. The reason people keep arguing about/against the Sabbath is because it is the only Commandment Christians refuse to accept of the 10.

I have repeatedly steered this thread away from long-term Sabbath debates and back to the 10 Commandments. The Truth that the Commandments were never repealed by God, and nowhere in scripture, proves the significance of the Sabbath automatically. No need to make this thread yet another Sabbath thread. I have proven the fact that the Commandments of God are still now, always have been, and always will be in effect for all those who love God and will receive Salvation. I've proven it over and over throughout the 70 pages of this thread.

The arguments that people keep bringing up have been addressed repeatedly here. There are no new angles to debate that haven't been hashed out over and over. If someone is honest, they can find the Truth of the matter to be proven repeatedly throughout the pages of this thread.

Are you going to live out 2022 believing that?
