@michaelvpardo It's also true that ppl with tattoos — strangers — sometimes even confer with each other about them; this for someone with a Scripture or faith based tattoo can be a natural opportunity for testimony.
No argument there, but I don't know if my resurrected body would still have a tattoo and I get tired of my own artwork on the wall eventually. If it were there, I assume that there it would stay.

Our society holds a lot of romantic notions, but older cultures that arranged marriages seemed to be more stable and had more long term marriages (though not necessarily happy ones). The problem is that Agape is not romantic love, but more like commitment or as expressed in the Old testament, like a hen caring for her chicks, more about doing than feeling. I actually think that the older translation as "charity" is more appropriate, but we don't think of marriage as charity between husband and wife (though perhaps we should. )
@michaelvpardo Some might even argue that an evangelistic Scripture tattoo can really be gotten as an act of Gospel-induced love for those whom one wants to reach: since from time to time testimony conversations are likely to arise from it...

(If this makes sense...?)

Sure, but as I suggested in my previous post, who would you evangelize in the resurrection?

2 verses pop out to me.

Mal 3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

......

@Ziggy

Such a searching verse, yes....

There are ppl with tattoos who do serve the Lord...

...and there are ppl with tattoos who don't serve the Lord.

Discerning the difference is not an outward thing, but an inward and spiritual one.

Getting inked up might work as a tool for having more testimony conversations.

But in the end it's the heart that counts.

(2c.....)

If I say I wear my emotions on my sleeve, does that count?
:(

I think it's time for lunch.

3 daughters!! One of which has more piercings than I would like…am hoping it is a phase! Fortunately no tattoos though with any of them (not that I know about anyway!). ...

Btw, I’m not judgmental over piercings and tattoos - they’re just not my personal preference. Some super duper Christians have both.

@Goldie75 Well, these days it's done from age 18 onwards. Kind of a transition to adulthood thing, I guess, really.

A lot of Christian young ppl get faith based designs / Bible verses tattooed; all the young ppl with Bible verses tattooed that I have spoken with seem to have had them done as witness tools, anyway...

I saw a quote about just how widespread it is is in the Bible Belt of the US. (I know you are in the UK, though...)

@soul man This would include tattoos, right?

Good they have witness opportunities.

Yes they had tats before I suppose, I don't know everything they do. But my cousin told it gets to be tuff sometimes because most of them in the clubs have a chip on their shoulder, and they run in a gang. But he said if they hang in there they usually have those they do get to talk to.

@Mantis So do you think so too? that it would be useful if more Christians worked in tattoo parlors?

(I guess your slant also would be: they better be good at it...)
