I posted this in another thread but I want to include it here also...

Is Mary the golden calf?

When the Hebrews, by God's grace, were freed from Egypt (after the shedding of blood at Passover), they journeyed for a while, following the prophet Moses. Then, after he disappeared for a while...

Exodus 32:1-8, "When the people saw that Moses [a type of Christ] delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron [the priest] and said to him, “Get up, make us gods that will go before us. As for this fellow Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him!”

So Aaron said to them, “Break off the gold earrings that are on the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” So all the people broke off the gold earrings that were on their ears and brought them to Aaron. He accepted the gold from them, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molten calf. Then they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it, and Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow will be a feast to the Lord.” So they got up early on the next day and offered up burnt offerings and brought peace offerings, and the people sat down to eat and drink, and they rose up to play.

The Lord spoke to Moses, “Go quickly, descend, because your people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have acted corruptly. They have quickly turned aside from the way that I commanded them—they have made for themselves a molten calf and have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and said, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt.’”

So Aaron, the priest took over and decided that they should build a false idol, put it up on a pedestal, and worship it. Even though Christ was with them on their journey, they turned away from Him and created an abhorrent false image to worship. And then they sat down to eat and drink, as proclaimed by the priest.

I realize that this revelation will be offensive to the Catholics but IMHO they have abandoned the truth of the New Covenant and set up a false idol whom they worship above the truth in Christ, led by their priests.

Catholics need not respond! I am not interested in any more of their false beliefs.

Please give me your “biblical” concept of Mary?

No.

I give you what the Bible says about her.

She was a blessed virgin selected by God to bear the Saviour of the world in her womb.

Afterwards she lived a normal life as other women bearing more children by the laws of nature through relations with her husband.

End of story.

where does the Bible say Mary has other children?

is a perpetual virgin?

Is she the mother of God?

is she the immaculate conception?

is she assumed into heaven?

No, I will not forgive you. You do not need to be forgiven. ♥♥♥Goodness, we all make mistakes, and I am certain that I have made a TON!. I am going to go back and delete my posts of what I said to you.
You were probably typing with righteous indignation. Sometimes righteous indignation doesn't allow us to type too accurately. ( We sometimes cant see what we write, because we are trying to make a point.)

An idol? The golden calf brought forth our salvation?

that’s a misquote!

Mary ever virgin, mother of God, is all powerful in her prayers!

Mary’s prayers are all powerful not cos she is God but because her son is God!

WE DONT WORSHIP MARY!

only the creator God may be worshiped!

worship requires intent!

That's the part you don't understand, Catholics worship her and don't even realize it .
Question, do you all talk to her ?

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful, oh mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petition, but in Thy mercy hear and answer me! Amen!

Mary is unique!

she alone had faith, she alone believed in the words of Jesus!

He is risen as He said!

All Saturday’s are dedicated to Mary cos She alone has faith and hope in the resurrection of Christ!

and in our faith we believe she was the first to encounter the resurrected Lord, this is just, Christ would reward Her faithfulness!

Mary Magdalene was first in scripture keeping with the humility of Mary mother of God!

but Mary Magdalene did not believe, she and the women did not go out in faith, but to anoint a dead body! Mk 16:1

Mary ever virgin alone kept the faith!

Just for the "fun" of it I read this post. Unfortunately it was what I expected from you.

You claim that Mary alone had faith, she alone believed in the words of Jesus. That is total nonsense! Nobody other than Mary -- the apostles, Jesus' disciples, and others -- had faith or believed in the words of Jesus?

All Saturdays are Sabbaths of God. They are not dedicated to Mary. That is blasphemy.

Mary was not "ever virgin" unless Jesus' brothers and sisters were also conceived like Jesus was.

So, I am back to not reading your irrational posts. May God have mercy on your deluded soul.

Jose’s, Simon Salome are children of another Mary!

Mk 15:40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

children of Joseph’s brother

Where in the world did that come from?

scripture mt 16:1 Mary Magdalene and the women did not have faith but went to anoint a dead body, the disciples did not believe when they were told! Only Mary believed and hoped in the resurrection that’s why holy Saturday is called in the early church the day of hope!

You already push Mary to a place where she shouldn't be, make Easter the central focus of your calendar, when Jesus just said to remember and commemorate His death, have a priesthood when all Christians are supposed to be priests, but this one--no, no no.
Saturday is the Sabbath-instituted at Creation. It is neither yours not Mary's. It belongs to the Lord.

I have never heard of such a thing.

It's really too bad that you believe all these twisted thoughts. I believe what the Bible clearly says, not what the RCC church says.

Please answer this: what causes you to believe these extra-Biblical falsities. What is your need to make Mary -- Jesus' mother whom He rejected in Matthew 12:47-49, " Someone told him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside wanting to speak to you.” To the one who had said this, Jesus replied, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?” And pointing toward his disciples he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!" -- into someone that is so far from the Biblical description of her?

I know what the Bible clearly says about this woman. Why do you claim that she is someone other than the person who is described in Scripture: a young woman who was selected by God to give birth to Jesus? And please don't repeat your bizarre claims without in-context reference to the Bible.

a) "your brothers" means -- ready? -- your brothers. Jesus didn't say "this woman is not my mother" nor did He say "these are my half-brothers"
b) "But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord’s brother." Galatians 1:19
c) Matthew 13:55, "Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?"

This last quote clearly identifies Mary as His mother and the four siblings as His brothers! It doesn't say half-brothers!

Now you either believe what the Bible -- God's Word -- clearly says or you don't!
