I know what reformed theology teaches, but you are making a strawman argument you are taking it to mean something we are not saying. So I don't need to argue with you on this anymore because you take things out of context and take them to conclusions that are not argued.

I presenting what it says, in his own words and in context. What you are doing is not owning up to the truth.

first off, why are you using my confessionals when you dont believe in them??
Am I using your confessionals?
Secondly, your talk about sinless perfection makes it even more clear that you should be a catholic.

Do not twist my words...never said sinless perfection....be good and do good the best you can is what I always say. Johnny Appleseed of truth is my ministry. Aim small, miss small....strive for perfection even if it is an unobtainable goal....much better than thinking you can sin all you want and go to heaven.

Ephesians 3:4
Whereby when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.

We can know the truth.
We are commanded by God to know the truth,

Ephesians 5:17
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is

Why would God give us a book containing His will,
Command us to read it, 2Timothy 2:15 and then make it too difficult to
understand.
He would not!
The gospel is written so that we may understand Gods will for man.

This foolish comment shows your ignorance.

First off my pastor is not Calvinist. Nor am I! I am an independent Baptist. Nor do I hold to reformed theology or reformed eschatology. And I will take the godliness in his little toe over your arrogant self righteousness everyday! I just know that what people call the five points of Calvin are Scriptural. YOu offer no scriptural rebuttal, just your snide little insults.

YOu seem content to think god has left the preaching of the kingdom to men alone- it shows how little you know for the intimate care of God for His people.

You're not a calvinist?

Your pastor teaches all 5 points of calvinism are biblical.
Yet you claim you and your independent Baptist church does not teach reformed theology doctrine?

You are a confused bunch.

Also, we have the Holy Bible that is delivered by the Holy Spirit.
So, no I do not fit your accusation that God left man alone to do the teaching.
If we were alone, we would have no clue what to teach.

Adam and Eve had real free will, but all save Jesus do not have that remaining since the fall, as we all save Jesus have a sin nature and that restricts/limits what we are now free to choose!

Yes, I know you are right about calvinism teaching we do not have freewill.
Now, since you admit calvinism teaches we have no freewill to choose to obey Jesus' gospel.
No freewill to turn from our sins and believe and live for Jesus, 1Corinthians 15:1-4.

Therefore it must also be true that if calvinism be true, then God is responsible for my sins.
I'm not choosing to be a wicked, sinning reprobate.
God has chosen this path for me.
Therefore God is at fault when I go to hell.
God is gulity for my sins and my damnation in hellfire.
I'm not guilty, responsible for my sins and not choosing Jesus. God is gulity for He did not give me any freewill to choose to be saved by Believing and obeying Him.
Thanks for your honesty. Please tell Pinseeker he has no freewil,.

Presumptiousness is a sin you seem to enjoy!

I never said my pastor preaches all five points. He is mopre of a 3 1/2 pointer using the scale.

Reformed theology is vastly vastly more than the five points called Calvinism found in Scripture to refute teh heresies of Jacob Armenius!

We are a dispensational/ vs. reformed theology church.

And I do not know where you get that I said God leaves man alone to figure out what to teach! I believe the Holy Spirit inspires biblical preachers on what to teach, and guides them through the Scriptures.

so you are saying god is not omniscient then?

You're making an Arminian argument. Have you forgot Calvinism?

NO Strawman, you chided me for sharing the parable of the sower that he sows seed on bad ground. YOu said you are a better farmer. It doesn't take more than an IQ of 3 to know you mean you only sow seed on good ground!

The issue is your haphazard approach the Gospel. You're lazy. You're throwing seed everywhere without doing any work to prepare the ground.

YOu equal with God is your strawman you create to beat! As for teh plural? I giess you are lousy at grammar as well! He was not writing to AN Ephesian but to teh believers (plural) in Ephesus. REally, if you cannot even know how grammar is used, we will not get far! And the plural is copmposed of many singular individuals! Your argument after that is just made up.

I wouldn't say anything about "grammar" if I were you...... I know what the verse says. You prefer what Calvin says.

Jesus taught His disciples to FISH..... He didn't take them into the middle of the desert and tell them "let down your nets"....

It maddening how Calvinists say one thing and expect others to hear something different.

Just exactly what happens when you tell everyone they're damned to hell without any hope?

I posted this in the Once Saved Always Saved thread, but it's even more appropriate here:

I would encourage watching this. This is a sermon by the "evil"... 'horrific"... "heretical"... :)... R.C. Sproul. Well, thanks be to God, it matters not the mouth of which man (or woman) it comes out of; God's truth is God's truth. I'm sure that there are those here who think they've thought through things and therefore will refuse (for this reason or that), but here you go:

Thanks be to God, Who is at work in us (Philippians 2) and works all things together ~ even our willing and working ~ for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8).

Grace and peace to all.

Who preaches this? Nobody I know Calvinist or not.

Yes you do. That is part of your theology. You tell EVERYONE that God predetermined the vast majority of humanity to damnation without remedy.

You can't deny this. You preach a Gospel that makes God look like a little kid sitting on ant hill with a magnifying glass. You make God look like YOURSELF.

No one wants that but people just LIKE YOU.....That is why Jesus said....

Mat 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

You're making an Arminian argument. Have you forgot Calvinism?

And which argument might that be. YOu cited a question I asked YOu expecting YOU to answer! I know what I believe based on Scripture on teh issue.

By saying that Election is based upon Omniscience. Keep up.....

Well that is because old Jacob redefined biblical omniscience to mean God knows in advance what man will do! that is not the word or how it is used in teh original.

The issue is your haphazard approach the Gospel. You're lazy. You're throwing seed everywhere without doing any work to prepare the ground.

so you are the one who has been stalking me all my christian life! And I though tit was the devil !!!! Bearing false witness against a brother is still a sin! You seem to enjoy doing that sin! YOu are presumptuous and draw conclusions without even bothering to check with me. I hope you have edible shoes for you seem to love putting you r foot in your mouth!

I wouldn't say anything about "grammar" if I were you...... I know what the verse says. You prefer what Calvin says.

well making intentional false statements about what I say is known as lying and you here are lying wildly! You are presumptious and one who orevaricates and slanders a brother!

You don't have the slightest clue what I say to people when I share th egospel. You simply put words in my mouth based on your own inner animosity and prejudiced viewpoint! You need to repent.

none of the so called reformers were apostles! Eph 2:20

none had any authority from Christ!

And no one since the last Apostle (John) died is an apostle either! That includes all the popes from Constantine on! there were no popes before him.

And they had authority, just not apostolic authority. TRhat died with the original apostles.

Secondly, your talk about sinless perfection makes it even more clear that you should be a catholic. Just leave protestantism to us reformed folk. You and @theefaith can discuss all the catholicism you want in the unorthodox doctrine section.

what was reformed?

If only you did! You are more interested in slandering a brother than knowing what grammar says!

The reference is Plural. It is a corporate selection. You're not named in any of this. Yet, here you are claiming a privileged position unlike the vast majority of humanity.

God chose Jesus Christ. FIRST. He is the Head. The body is a unnamed group made up of anyone that heeds the Gospel.

I'm rather certain you don't like this because you prefer to only let people in that agree with you. Others just like yourself.
