Even if we do sin we are no longer sinners but saints, forgiven by God.

Huh?

Even though I play soccer I am not a soccer player.

Even though I commit adultery I am not an adulterer.

LOL!!!

My my, what deeply entrenched faulty doctrines does to people…

And @Lifelong_sinner

Only those who are obedient servants to sin:

“Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” (John 8:34)

“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:16)

Serve God (in truth).

Don’t serve sin.

You cannot serve both.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.” (Matthew 6:24)
Yes the verses you have posted are correct. This is the purpose of the savior to free them from the sinful and selfish life all people live. The parable of the tax collector and Pharisee is there for a reason. I suggest people quit ignoring it. Some people rely on their self righteousness which is not true righteousness.

Everyone sins. Sin is not being perfect. And the new testament lays down what a person must do to not sin. It mentions them that get cast into the fire for not giving to the poor and such which is above and beyond the ten commandments. The book of Revelation also points out who gets thrown into the lake of fire for sinning.

12 Not that - I have already obtained all this, or - have already been made perfect, but I press on - - to take hold of that for which - - Christ Jesus - took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize of - God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus. 15 - All of us who are mature - should embrace this point of view. And if you think differently about some issue, - God will reveal this to you as well. 16 Nevertheless, we must live up - - to what we have already attained.

Look up the word perfect and see the Perfect Tense..no man on this planet have reached absolute perfection yet.

As to maturity, it is a growing process....

Adj-NMP (BSB Morphology)

G5046 τέλειος teleios (te'-lei-os) adj.
complete.
{(neuter as noun, with G3588) completeness; in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.}

...so we are still growing in Christ through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

See ya in Heaven at the second tree of the river of zoe !

After we are born again spiritually we are no longer sinners but saints. We are reconciled with and acceptable to God and he does not have sinners in His family. It's what the bible calls us. Unless you are a Catholic who believe the lie that they are born again when 'baptised' as infants. Then you might have to re-think it.

Believers are born again, and:

“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not” (1 John 5:18)

Incorrect..

. 9 Anyone - born of - God - refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; - - he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of - God.

Do this mean Christians are incapable of committing ACTS of hamartia?

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Key word here is "practise"

V-PIA-3S (BSB Morphology)
Verb - Present Indicative Active - 3rd Person Singular
Lemma: ποιέω
Word: refuses to practice
Greek: ποιεῖ,
Transliteration: poiei,

Can a Christian commit an act of sin? Absolutely since no one is perfect (Perfect Tense)

But he said he’d crucified the flesh, like Jesus did?

But he said he’d crucified the flesh, like Jesus did?

..and the next verse says...Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Are we continuously walking in the Spirit?
Impossible for the saint to commit one act of sin?
No one have reached the goal of absolute perfection yet, not even Paul...

Php_3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

12 Not that - I have already obtained all this, or - have already been made perfect, but I press on - - to take hold of that for which - - Christ Jesus - took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. And if you think differently about some issue, - God will reveal this to you as well. 16 Nevertheless, we must live up - - to what we have already attained.

In Phil 3:15 the KJV has "perfect"

- All of us who are mature - should embrace this point of view. And if you think differently about some issue, - God will reveal this to you as well.

What does it mean to be mature?

Are we continuously walking in the Spirit?

Why not?

You like walking in the flesh every once in a while or something?

Why do you make provision for the flesh (Romans 13:14) in walking in it which the scripture tells you not to do (Romans 8:4)?

No one have reached the goal of absolute perfection yet, not even Paul...

Php_3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect

Paul said he walked AS THOUGH he wasn’t perfect. He didn’t say he wasn’t.

And how can Paul claim to be teaching men as to perfect them before Christ if he himself was not perfect?

“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” (Colossians 1:28)

Daniel 9:24 KJV
[24] Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Has this not already taken place?

Daniel 9:27 KJV
[27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
And this, did Jesus not confirm the covenant?

Believers are born again, and:

“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not” (1 John 5:18)
In order to not sin, you must follow all that Christ as said in the New Testament. Even his apostles marveled at this.

Matthew 19:21-26

King James Version

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Just do these:

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Romans 13:8-9)

“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)

Some make serving and following God a near impossibility!
When in fact he has told us exactly what is required to progressively be sanctified as we grow in the Spirit. Laying aside the sin that so easily besets us, let us not return to it like a dog will eat it's own vomit. As we grow sin becomes repulsive to us, when we set aside,he sets us aside as holy in Him and in sanctification. It will NOT be complete until we carry our cross daily unto the death of this tabernacle of clay.

If you are so absorbed with what man has taught you to believe, then that is ALL you have, for the Spirit of man KNOWETH the things of man but the SPIRIT OF GOD KNOWETH the things of God!

I say it NEVER hurts for a man to count the cost by going back to the cross confessing and repenting.

EXAMINE YOURSELVES!...... myself included.

Not only that as people come up with their own ideas about how to love other people, so Jesus spelled it out for us: Matthew 25:35-40

The reason most people, including believers are so very endlessly confused about "sinning and confessing" and "do i still sin"....etc..

1.) You have not yet understood that the only part of you that is a "CHRISTIAN".....is the part of you that is BORN AGAIN.

A.) That is only your SPIRIT.

So, when you begin to realize that your body and your mind is not born again, and they are not the "Christian"........ then you have taken your very first REVELATION into the spiritual eyes of your understanding.......which is.....>"the REAL YOU< is not your body or your mind"...Its your Born Again Spirit.

So, when God looks at the born again, He does not see your sin, because Jesus has already paid for it.
He does not see you, as you see you.
God sees only what He has REDEEMED that is your "born again Spirit".

Listen..
When you read that the born again are the SONs of God........notice that is the "born again"...
What part of you is that, reader?
Its not your body or your mind.

So, your "born again" Spirit is the CHRISTIAN.......not your body or your mind or your behavior.
This means that when you do something that is a "Sin"......its not your Spirit that did it., and that is why Romans 4:8 is talking to the real YOU, if you are born again.

Thank you for sharing your insights.
