The Insanity of the "right" to have guns!

This question is above my pay grade but you might be able to explain this for me? Here in Australia we get a lot of pro western news so hearing of mass killings like we do makes me wonder, is there is something inheritantly wrong with U.S society? Do other countries suffer as they do? I'm not meaning isolated cases of mass killing but the share number over the past 20 years is crazy.

There is something wrong in the US.
Do you remember how the Australian government was handling the Covid epidemic?
We have a political party here...the democrats that coddle criminals and allow drug trafficking, invasion of the borders, and the murdering of 600,000 babies a year. No moral compass.

They battle those that are for freedom and accountability. You know what they say about a country divided.

Guns. The left wants to take them away. The right wants to leave them as is. In the US, we have a few issues that we cant agree on; abortion, same sex marriage, and guns.

what to do? What can you do? Only thing i know tonite, is 19 kids are with God, and the 18 yr old killer is in hell. The kids were in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. This was especially rough for me as my sister is a reading specialist at an elementary school. She was a school teacher for 10 yrs before that. And i ask myself, what if it had been her school? Everytime we have a school shooting it causes me some anxiety.

i dont know what the answer is, but removing guns isnt it. We as a country would never allow that to happen, and so we carry on, hoping it will never happen again, but understanding that it could.

I was really saddened to hear the news of this shooting, more so because of the age of the children. Why would an 18year old want to kill young children. I also read that he shot his own grandmother before going to the school ( not sure if that has been confirmed )
I understand he used a hand gun, but the reports seem a bit patchy at the moment.

and the GOP had Trump, who tried to UNLAWFULLY overturn the election results in Georgia; and made some disgusting sexual comments about his own daughter! Is this guy "moral"?

That would be ridiculous to say. But you have to live in reality.
For one, in order to take the guns away from the law abiding citizens, it would take an Nazi form of force...a lot of people would die and the criminals would still have guns and be at their mercy. Face it the cat is out of the bag, there a lot of guns in America.

I think it is easy to look in and have thoughts and opinions. The reality is that You and me have not grown up with guns, it is not something we have come to rely on ….it is not our culture.

I am not sure anyone is truly free within their cultures.
Personally I still think raising the age limit on having guns may help, this guy was 18years old, not particularly a mature age. Teenagers get mad and react, add a gun to the mix ……..not good. Surely even those who do believe in having guns can see that something does need to change.
