WHY is it impossible for God to give those who are unrepentant and unfaithful eternal life? (It's easy to see why He WOULDN'T do it, but I'm struggling with the notion that He CAN'T do it.)

The statement I made that's it's impossible for God to give eternal life to those who are unrepentant and unfaithful is a true statement.
It's impossible for God to give eternal life to those who are practicing sin and are not sorry that they are practicing these sins they don't ask for forgiveness and they don't abstain from practicing these sins.(unrepentant) These same people, are unfaithful, because if they truly believed what God says is the best way for a human to behave toward God, and toward each other, they would put what God says is the best way to behave toward God and each other into practice.

I'm struggling with the notion that He CAN'T do it.
The reason you're struggling with it is that in using your mind/heart with the end in sight being God's glory (as you are apparently doing here), you see it as the nonsense it really is. God could have devised a thousand ways of solving the sin problem. He has not left us without evidence that we can trust that He chose the best one.

Really, when we get into these issues dealing with the 'mind of God,' everything we say is nonsense. Let God's word be true and every man a liar. God is not limited by any construct of our imagining.

Not directed at you, personally (honestly), but in some matters pertaining to God, silence is eloquence. All are free to speculate about what is not plainly revealed in Scripture, but they should not be left unwarned that presumption can lead to very unfortunate results, and the potential for it runs high in these discussions about what we suppose God ponders or knows.

One very good and important reason for using the substitutionary atonement method that He has is that it brings security to the rest of His universe that is blissfully peaceful by default. We wake up every day in the midst of much chaos and strife and often don't appreciate that we are a rebel planet that is so far from the norm as to be practically unimaginable. 99.99999999999+++ of God's creation is already enjoying the things God has prepared for those on earth who love Him. These are some things with which we would do well to occupy our minds. The unutterable love of God in giving His Son to the human race is a theme that can and will forever captivate and delight the expanses of the mind which are widened by its contemplation. :)

Thanks, Barney. I don't doubt that true believers will practice what they believe. And I'm certainly not challenging that God declines to grant eternal life to the unrepentant, habitual sinner. But I hope my question hasn't been lost in the shuffle:

If God desired to grant eternal life to everyone, repentant sinner and unrepentant sinner alike, believer and nonbeliever alike, COULD HE DO IT? Or is it beyond his power?

Jesus said there will be two resurrections not just one.

Two,
One being One for the believer,
One being for the unbeliever.

According to what John has proposed in Revelation 22: There are those who may get to enter into the gates of the city, and there are those who are not in the city at all.

There are people who believe those who do not believe in Jesus - they are destined for hell forever, the thing is: Jesus death was for all people. Not just because you believe on Him, but if you do believe on and in him, there is a totally different response to those who make the choice to follow Christ, instead of not following Christ.

The OP asks this ?

What is impossible for God ?

answer- God cannot sin that is an impossibility.

hope this helps !!!
GOD cannot lie . SO how come folks are buying the all inclusive many path to GOD lie .
the one that embraces all religoins and sin .
WHEN GOD HIMSELF gave testimony of the SON . THAT JESUS ALONE is the only way to be saved .
SO how come folks beleive this false love lie . WHICH says
that other religoins serve the same GOD we do . LIE .
ANd why do folks embrace certain sins and call them love and good , WHEN JESUS alway said GO and sin NO MORE .
FOLKS WE GETTING DUPED INTO A FALSE UNITY and a false love .

The ressurection of damnation comes upon all who taught a false gospel . You know the gospel that says folks dont have to believe in JESUS .
the one you keep preaching . Have i become your enemy because i tell the truth . Mathew you need to remove your lastest post
and repent from it . Since no one else will bother to tell you , At least i will .

Thank you telling me, @amigo de christo but I wish you would quit telling me. I literally stated what Jesus said…

I believe following Christ is important… I don’t go saying for people around not to believe or not look to Jesus… the death, burial, and resurrection and following Christ is important and all have a choice in following him or not following him. Their choice.

The problem is you wont cease to teach that those who reject him wont be damned . YOU keep on trying to bring your gospel .
EVERY time i see it i am gonna expose it . The problem with this generation and with many who even profess to KNOW CHRIST
is that they believe in this idea that everyone has the right to believe as they will . I see that as dangerous .
I have a DUTY to POINT TO CHRIST ALONE as the only means for salvation and a duty to warn and remind all
That if one denies HIM , believes not IN HIM , they gonna be damned . IF JESUS said it , WHY do you teach otherwise .

Revelation 22 states there are people that may go in the gates to heavenly Jerusalem and those who are outside… those are the ones resurrected with damnation, buddy.

I’m not going against any scripture. You can expose it all you desire though I won’t stop believing in the victory over all Jesus has had today for all people.

The wrath of God was taken care of already, Jesus has had the victory over Sin (he died for it), Satan and his demons, death.

Praise God for what he has done for eh whole world.
It applies ONLY to those WHO BELIEVE . You need to read who ends up in the lake of fire .
IT clearly says UNBELIEVERS . You are teaching a false hope for humanity . ME , i preach the ONLY HOPE HUMANITY HAS .
JESUS CHRIST . BELIEVE IN HIM and YE SHALL be saved , believe not and ye shall be damned .
YOu are giving the people a false hope . JESUS himself rebuked those who did not yet repent to believe on HIM
HE said ITS GONNA be worse for YOU than even sodom on the day of judgement . YET YOU SAY HE IS a liar .
Paul told the jews who believed not , SINCE YOU count yourselves unworthy of everlasting life ....
SEE the true apostles gave the right answer . What must we do to be saved . BELEIVE IN JESUS .
BUT YOU say , NO that is not necessary . YOU are preaching severe danger .
Instead of asking me what gives me the right to judge others , which i dont , i just preach JESUS
YOU need to sit down and ask yourself , what gives you the RIGHT to call JESUS a liar . FOLKS GET IN BIBLES .

We all need to open our bibles, preferably the King James Version, and learn the scriptures for ourselves.

The Bible is very clear. We MUST believe ONLY in the BIBLICAL LORD JESUS to be saved and receive everlasting life with the glorious LORD.

We know that God created humans to make free moral choices, God doesn't make those free moral choices for us. God isn't a dictator. So if people make the choice to be unrepentant habitual sinners God isn't going to force them against there will to live a life that shows they love him so much that they're obedient to him. Its impossible to force someone to love God, that's not true love.

Barney, I think we are talking past each other. I agree with everything you just said -- but I think it dodges my question, which is about God's power vel non to forgive sins without the sacrifice of Christ, not about forcing people to choose obedience. Let me try to put it another way for you, a little tongue-in-cheek but maybe get my point across better. Imagine this letter being written by God to humanity a little over 2,000 years ago, just before the Holy Spirit came over Mary to start the Incarnation, and tell me what you think:

"Dear Mankind (I’m writing this to everyone, not just Israel):

Some of you know Me. Some of you refuse to recognize Me. Some of you try to put My command of love into practice. Most of you don’t. But by and large you’re all sinners. And I hate sin. In fact, in My book, sin warrants the death penalty. You all deserve to die for your sin, whether inherited from Adam or based on your own choices.

But I am a loving Father. So, I’m weighing a couple of options here. I could send my only-begotten Son to pay the death penalty in your place, and grant eternal life to those who believe in him and reform their lives in accordance with that belief, or some such combination (I’ll leave the details aside for now). Or, I could just declare Amnesty Day and pardon everyone, sinner and non-sinner alike, believer and nonbeliever alike, and welcome you all to Paradise with Me eternally, where I’m sure you’ll see the Light.

Just kidding! Option #2 doesn’t exist! Wanna know why? Because of all the things that I can do, creating the Universe and all that, one thing I am absolutely powerless to do is forgive your sins without a proper sacrifice. Even if I wanted to. Understand what I’m saying here, folks. It’s not just that I wouldn’t want to do so (although that is certainly true). It’s that I have no ability to do so.

So I’m going with Option #1. It’s not only the best choice for demonstrating My love for you. It’s simply that I cannot just forgive you all for free. Literally. I am powerless to do so.

Love,

God"

Barney, my question is, did God have Option #2 or not?
