SBG....can I ask what it is that you cannot do? Surely if you believe that God is "three" and not "one" as the Bible clearly states....is it a case of "can't" or "won't"?

Is this an inconvenient line of reasoning? Remember that God himself created our sense of logic......would he present himself as "Father" and his "firstborn" as his "son", if it were not in the realm of our understanding of this relationship?

I don’t believe God is three. God IS Spirit. He is not Spirit and the Holy Spirit is another different Spirit. God IS the Holy Spirit. If anything, I would rather think God is Spirit and Jesus was Him in flesh form, while on earth. And the word does actually say that: He is the visible image of the invisible God.

WCF chpt 2 part 3 states; “3. In the unity of the Godhead there be three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost: the Father is of none, neither begotten, nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.”

Its a simple question.
God said "this is my son"
What did he mean by that?

Can you at least see why im confused?

Yes, I can see why you are confused. But you can’t take “this is My Son” apart from “and He was God.” They must fit together rather than choosing one and discarding the other. They BOTH must be true.

As long as you understand my confusion.

Verses like this

In John 20:17 Jesus says
"I am ascending to my Father and your father, to my God and your God"

I admit I could be wrong but i don't understand how can anyone be so sure that Jesus is God with such scripture telling otherwise.

I honestly prefer the RCCs reasoning. They don't know, it's a mystery. That makes more sense to me than any other arguments iv heard

You need to throw away that lens... It's lying to you.
What if yours is lying to you?
dunno
We will all know soon enough I guess. :(

No one really wins this argument.....because the answer is just the truth as the Bible has always told it. The Jews never knew this three headed god, and so the first Christians, (all being Jewish) would never have heard of it. It took over 300 years of apostasy to make it official in the Catholic church....and through much controversy.
So which truth has always been there.....and which one was introduced much later?

Those who commit blasphemy by attributing equal "god" status to Jesus Christ are in breach of the first Commandment, which is first for a very good reason. (Exodus 20:3) I can only voice what is truth to me. Your truth is yours to contend with. Who will Christ reject? (Matthew 7:21-23)

But there are scriptures that also say He is God. They BOTH must be true. You can’t just pick which of the two are true and say the other one is not true. How is that a solution…?

And where will I find all this stated in the Bible????

Isn't this why we need to know what the whole Bible teaches about the nature of God and his relationship with his son?

There is not one single clear and unequivocal statement from either God or his Christ that they share a "godhead".

Sure there is. There’s more than one.
For instance, Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?

Indeed. But this op isn't about the trinity is it. It's about whether Jesus Christ, the Son of God begotten (not created) before creation, inherited the attributes of His Father... Or not. If the Son did inherit... That is He received as a Son the same nature as His Father, which is the only natural and logical conclusion to any Father/Son paradigm of any species, then that conclusion must and can only be, Jesus is God.

The Jews never knew this three headed god
Very few of them knew the true God which is why they rejected His Son when He came to reveal the character of the Father to them.
KJV John 6:44-46
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

KJV Hebrews 1:1-3
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

What does the above mean, a human being the brightness of God's glory?

'Like Father like son'.....it means nothing more than that. He is the "image" of his God and Father.
An image is not the real thing but only a reflection. The image in the mirror is not you.

Unequivocal means what? There are no unequivocal statements from either God or his Christ that they share any kind of equality in a godhead.

One unequivocal statement is in John 1:18....."No one has ever seen God"......how many people saw Jesus?

I haven't just picked one nor did I say the other is untrue. Please don't put words in my mouth. If anything you are the one picking one with certainty.
I'll repeat myself.

My opinion is what I think is most probable and I admit I could be wrong cos i don't understand how Jesus can also be God.

Do you admit you could be wrong?
Or are your certain of yourself even though your reasoning makes no sense and there is scripture opposing it?

It’s unequivocal.
And no matter how many times you try to explain away numerous scriptures, I still see them.
You have made your choice and that is entirely your prerogative.....just remember that all choices have consequences.

Also remember that the majority are on the wrong road. (Matthew 7:13-14)
