What are winter typically like in the souther hemisphere?
I guess I always assumed that while North America was celebrating cookouts, the southern hemisphere was shoveling snow.
And vice versa.
I never been out of the states, except once when I was 10 to visit Nova Scotia Canada with my Grandmother.
We drove from Boston, took a ferry from St. John to Digby and back to Maine.
Other than that all I know is wha I see through other peoples eyes.

It rained a little today. I don't have a thermometer outside, but I would say it was in the mid to high 70's.
Hugs

It's only 81F now and it's 1pm. It's supposed to get up to 91F today then cool off massively tomorrow. I must not be used to the heat cause I felt like I was going to pass out a couple times going outside today.

I float around a lot of social media sites. Lot of people chatting about excessive chem-trails this past week.
If you don't know what chemtrails are, it's worth investigating.

@Pearl Ppl not in North America sometimes don't grasp the extremes of temperatures that there are over here: extremes in both directions.................. :)

a week ago we were freezing cold and had the heat running…this week it’s a beautiful 30C
M not sure we will actually get a ‘summer ‘ this year…our tomatoes are about 4 inches high :D:D:D

@Helen Of course you guys out in the Prairies by the Rockies, with the warm and cold air bouncing off each other often, can even get all four seasons in one day, right? :)

@Ziggy There are some really high tides in Nova Scotia; the Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world. There are some unique conditions there; the Saint John River flowing into the Bay of Fundy reverses its flow under certain conditions.....

Agree, totally !
Today we heard that they are extending the skiing at the resorts as they still have loads of deep snow!
They are calling it ‘summer skiing ‘. Go figure. Lol

Well....we drove up a Rocky Mountain road in Alberta in May of one year and at a certain point it was closed with a barrier because of the snow conditions still...

One of my sisters from Nottingham living an hour from me here in Florida cannot stand the heat and humidity in the Summer.
My ex-sister-in-law out in Colorado would complain when the humidity there hit 40%. Then she visited us in Florida and was completely debilitated by our 90F, 80% RH summer weather. She spent the entire trip either in the pool or inside in the air conditioning and under a ceiling fan.

My first encounter with Florida humidity was when I interviewed for the job that eventually took me there. I went from Colorado's very pleasant August weather, took an air-conditioned plane to an air-conditioned airport, took an air-conditioned bus to an air-conditioned rental counter, drove an air-conditioned car to the hotel, got out of the car, grabbed my suitcase - and it hit me. The Florida summer humidity. By the time I walked across the parking lot to the hotel lobby, I was drenched in sweat.

That summer, I also interviewed for a job in Dallas. I remember the time-and-temperature sign at the bank across the street from the hotel. 11:17 A.M. 115 degrees F.

I was in NC for the Marine Corps training years ago. It was like 80% humidity and hot during that summer. We went for our PFT test which is the run I was on that day (3 miles). I ran about a 7 min mile per mile that day and when I finished my eyes blacked out and I couldn't see. Shortly my eye sight returned. But wow the effects of humidity are crazy.

Camp LeJeune? Our Navy brat served a couple of stints there. I still remember the "Tank Crossing" signs on the roads on base.

Yes it was Camp Lejeune. What I remember was the giant Seastallion helicopters that would fly into a workout field and the trees looked like they were in a hurricane or something. And the Warthogs flying over us.

Yes, they have internet videos on YouTube showing their munitions deployment. Truly impressive.

What's the weather like where you are?

Temps above normal, but not many records set, pretty much Dallas as usual. Stink'in hot (104 Saturday), humid, generally miserable till November when the GOOD weather comes along briefly.
