WHAT has been abandoned, done away with, revised, translated, interpreted and ignored by so called " christendom" is.......

John 20:20-23 v.22
And when he had said this, HE BREATHED ON THEM,AND SAITH UNTO THEM, RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST:

Acts 2: 1-4
v .4
And THEY WERE ALL....FILLED.... WITH THE HOLY GHOST, AND BEGAN TO SPEAK WITH.....OTHER TONGUES...., AS THE SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE.

All righteousness must be fulfilled as Jesus said at his own water baptism. John ,however, said ""one with the greater baptism than water baptism is coming after me of whom I AM NOT worthy.""

This neglects our walk with God if we ignore or discount the HS baptism more than water baptism ever could. To neglect this baptism puts in peril the journey, for it regulates his [ HS ] functions to N/ A or not needed!

I'm afraid BB is correct! They don't want to understand. They have closed their eyes and stopped their ears.

Having “ eyes to see and ears to hear” is just a natural by- product of having the Holy Spirit within you......I suspect that some here may not have that Spirit......

@Truther

You need a laying down at the cross Jesus died on for sinners. Do NOT move until you have been blood washed by the Saviours cleansing blood.
Isaiah says " COME AND LET US REASON TOGETHER...........you need a reasoning session with Christ.
Then by extension of the Spirit you need a double portion of good old fashioned stuffing knocked out of you, that you might be able to see the fullness of God.
A dose of castor oil might cleanse you before you can get the Holy oil from the Holy Spirit, then prayerfully you will be renewed from flesh to spiritual that YOU MIGHT ....KNOW THE WORD OF GOD !

Hi @L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d As Romans 8.9 says: "Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." (All truly born again believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, indeed.)

I did not want to overwhelm you with sctiptures since you cannot even comprehend this...

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

It is my Prayer that the Newbies in the crowd will check out just a couple of verses that blow this Stubborn , Confused and “Poor Student Of The Word” out of the water..

As I have tried to tell him , he needs to actually Finish the Book Of Acts to Understand it....here is why——Acts 43 and 44 “ To Him give all the prophets witness, that THROUGH HIS NAME, whosoever BELIEVES in Him shall have their Sins FORGIVEN!” ( Forgiven Sins would equal Salvation, don't ya think? ) , and while Peter SPOKE these words, the HOLY SPIRIT WAS GIVEN to those that heard these words “

Can we say, “ BUSTED?”......

And just for a little Icing in the cake, let’s throw this verse from Ephesians into the mix—- I suppose you could call it “ The Final Nail in the Coffin” for these that fail to do “AS ORDERED” and take the time to “ Rightly Divide”.....” It is in Him , and through the *SHEDDING OF HIS BLOOD* that we have our Sins Forgiven....such is the richness of God’s Grace toward us.....” ( Eph 1:7)

I’ll say it again.....For Salvation it’s NOT, “ Nothing But The Water”...... The Hymn says, “ Nothing But The Blood”.... NOTHING .Not even water baptism—- a great Rite, but it should be an “Evidence” Of Salvation and not the “ Cause” Of it.....If our resident “ Broken Record” can’t see or admit that he us in error by these Biblical Truths that I posted, it’s time to “ shake the dust off of our shoes “ and move on....that will be my plan....

Paul never wrote a word to sinners, only to saints.

The Acts skipper pastors need to teach Acts skippers what an epistle to saved saints is.

Acts skippers hijack the saints' letters and give them to sinners with Acts 2:38 hidden behind their back in their tricky hand.

How sneaky and devious.

They are like the David Blain of Christendom.

True.....Paul wrote only to the Saints..... but he used these writings to the Saints ( and especially in Romans) to describe for ALL people ( Saint AND Sinner) the State Of Humanity—- and it is NOT a good thing to behold! God “uses” Paul’s Letters to the Saints so that through the Centuries, Millions could share in the Truths of these letters to see the Condition Of The Believers before they Trusted in Jesus and to make it clear to the Unsaved Sinners That they had better come to Faith in Jesus like the Saints did.....

Paul wrote to Saints “ ABOUT” Sinners, with the hope that Unsaved Sinners in the Future would Read these Letters and see themselves as the Lost “ Wretches” that they were portrayed to be and then do something about it —— that “ something” is to do the “ Will Of God!” And just what *IS” that Will Of God? Escape from the “ Fool’s Paradise” Of Thinking that you are “ good enough” to merit Salvation and abandon Satan’s Lie That Salvation is for those Rapists and Murderers out there at the State Prison.....quit “ Believing” in yourself and start “ BELIEVING In the ONE THAT HE SENT”.....

Simply put, Start Believing the Gospel That God is going to Judge you by on Judgement Day....Believe and REST in the Gospel that is Found in 1 Cor15:1-4

I did that when I obeyed Acts 2:38 on Oct 7, 1979.

Anyone that skips Acts 2:38 has to have a powerful imagination to imagine themselves to be part of the church of 3000 at Pentecost that received remission of sins by obeying Peter via Acts 2:38.

They have to imagine their sins are remitted by mind over matter, instead of by participating in Acts 2:38.

These folks are tough as nails mentally.

They can probably bend nails with their minds.

It is time for all posters on the thread to obey the Apostle Peter and get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ per Acts 2:38, so they can experience actual remission of their sins.

They have been duped to believe their faith alone remitted their sins.

AKA they "saved" themselves by their mind works.

They have been instructed to disobey Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 8, Acts 10 and Acts 19.

They have been instructed to disobey Jesus, Peter and Paul.

This is akin to suicidal Christendom.

All because they hate getting their hair wet.

Let's start over for all Acts skippers....

Matt-John was written to sinners.

Acts was written to show sinners how to find remission of sins at the very beginning of the book (Acts 2:38), then also documented this event in chapter 8, chapter 10 and chapter 19....4 times.

Romans- Revelation were letters written to those that had previously obeyed Acts 2:38, and these books were written to affirm the faith of the saved saints per Acts.

Sinners must not be allowed to skip Acts and find a "baptism-less" "salvation" in the epistles, which were written to edify, comfort and exhort the saved saints.

Some of the dumbest theologians that ever lived came up with the Acts skipper doctrine.

Thou sayest.

I speak the truth -- in English.

Why do you consider a 411-year-old translation to be anything worth reading when so many excellent modern translations are available? Is it because you persist in redefining what Scripture actually means?
