@CadyandZoe, people have a right and liberties in this county to choose and do what they want to. Some choices land a person in jail. No one has to answer any questions if they do not want to it’s their choice. Whether they do or not it doesn’t really matter to me at all.

As I have stated time and time again because it is my heart on the matter people should be encouraged to read the Bible and find out what it says and if they desire to know the truth may God lead them to the truth by the Holy Spirit.

I listened to the video. I didn’t find it heinous in any way, but neither did I find it helpful as far as building up my trust/edifying. It’s the first video posted of him that I listened to. I didn’t know he was a Mormon/LDS until now. I once tried to read the book of mormon. I tried and tried but I didn’t find anything that helped to build up my trust in it either or that gave me any practical help. I read a good portion but I eventually gave up. I vaguely remember reading one or two things I believed were visibly false when compared to the Bible but I don’t remember what they were.

I understand now why you thought we would not receive new bodies as the Bible states. Or at least I assume you may have gotten the idea from the book of mormon or from a mormon teaching? You’ll have to say if that is so because I really don’t know what they teach, except that they have a ritual that they say guarantees you will remain married to your earthly spouse in the afterlife. I do remember one of them telling me about that.

I think at some point you have to accept that he doesn’t want to talk with you. Of course, this is coming from someone who immediately gravitated to him and wanted to embrace him as my brother and help him from the moment I met him. So I haven’t exactly abandoned him or left him alone either.
And I saw him share, really share, the other day of what he personally had seen about something in scripture. So he is learning with Gods help.

He left all that Mormon stuff behind, he was trying to help Mormons come out of their religious captivity, and he then decided after awhile he got bored with that and went to 10 of the most frequently went to churches to see how they taught the word of God and then after that he went on teaching the Bible verse by verse.

He was someone who helped me actually understand the Bible, I get that one little video didn’t help but there are literally thousands of hours of different topics and discussions.

So this the point my encouragement is still for people to look into the Bible.

If people wanna know what the resurrection is like they should read 1 Corinthians 15, there is nothing better than to actually learn about it for yourself in what Paul wrote to the Corinthians.

Shawn is not a bad guy like people try to make him out to be… it’s like jealous or envy some may have for the guy, or that can go for anyone…

The Jewish people were envious of Jesus and had him killed.

Imagine if we lived in a world ruled by a king where he put in a law if you were envious of someone you have the right to kill them… (but you can’t kill the king).

Imagine how many people would kill others just because they were rich or just because they were homosexual, or confirmed child predators or because they were white or black.

Ah…I see. I dug a little farther just now based on what you said. You know, I once met a young Mormon man who had received the Holy Spirit. We talked for a few hours after we both recognized the Spirit in each other. I think we were both equally shocked that we both had received the Spirit. I was very young in God at the time and had the idea it was impossible for a mormon to have received the Holy Spirit and I think he rather thought the same about a non Mormon. It was kind of funny because he had come to convert me but rather ended up asking me a lot of questions and listening very intently and agreeing with me. The other young man sat their very woodenly and stiff, not speaking and seemed very ill at ease. I’m pretty sure the young man was tattled on by the other young man because when they were supposed to come back, only the wooden young man came with a senior man who oozed anger at me. He was very stern and unloving, without any gentleness or anything of my Lord on him. I told him he must leave and that I would only talk with the other young man, but they never sent him back. Pretty sure he got into trouble…

Maybe he got out of there once taking to you more about it, ya know? It’s very strict there having to obey the rules and regulations set forth by the “Elders” and “Apostles”, very bad things happens when these types of things are in “so called Religious Administrations”…

Oh, I’m sorry. You can learn from it though! Go back, read it all again, and try to figure out where you lost his willingness to talk with you. I think you ran up against resistance to your own doctrines, maybe at labeling him a universalist? Because I’ve read his posts far more often than I’ve responded to them and he’s actually learned and altered as he goes along, (which we all should be doing) and I don’t think he’s a “universalist” but quite possibly could be leaning in favor of more mercy than most mens doctrines allow concerning God. If anything, he has maybe seen that doctrines don’t have all understanding of most matters. I’d guess (could be wrong) that he’s leaning hard against eternal torture of humans and more toward a more merciful annihilation, and I don’t blame him, because eternal torture of humans is despicable to me also. It actually ends at an odd place where humans (even those who haven’t yet received the down payment of the Spirit) appear to be MORE merciful than God.

From sex scandals to abuse, the only true administration as Christians we should be governed by is God himself by his Holy Spirit sent in the name of Jesus Christ!

He does speak through some men but if they aren’t looking or smelling anything like our Lord, I pretty much don’t listen. If I see the fruits of gentleness, patience, mercifulness, and I see they’ve been with Him, I gladly listen, even if in some things they are still just teaching doctrines men have taught them.

Well, if you run across one of his videos that helps you tremendously in building up your trust, post it. I’ll listen to that! It’s what most helps me. I kind of steer away from systematic theology or systematic eschatology since I think they do more harm than good for me as far as having me remain teachable for the Holy Spirit.
It has been my experience with every teaching of men that I believed for a while that I eventually had to leave them behind as too simplistic or only half true.

LDS Christians 100% acknowledge that other Christians are Christians & can have the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It's kind of a "no duh".

As to the younger man not being there: missionaries are routinely rotated from area to area (like every 6-18 weeks) regardless of what's going on. That's all completely routine. No you didn't get him into trouble.

I believe that there are Christian’s in Mormon churches, just like there are Christians in Catholic Churches or Christians in Jehovah witnesses churches or whatever no doubt in my mind of the possibilities of that.

I believe that there are Christian’s in Mormon churches, just like there are Christians in Catholic Churches or Christians in Jehovah witnesses churches or whatever no doubt in my mind of the possibilities of that.

Also @stunnedbygrace i don’t believe in annihilation but reconciliation, so you did have my view wrong a bit there on the “annihilation thing”.

Let's look at Luke 17[28] Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
[29] But the SAME DAY that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
[30] Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Was Jesus just using scare tactics of fear in Luke 17, to get people to believe in Him, or maybe, just maybe, both situations are going to be very real events, the same day of His return?
I'm going for the latter!!

I believe Jesus Christ already came back, I believe that the Revelation had come and happened and was for the very specific people it was for in that day in age, however there are principles that one can learn from reading that book.

The thing is, I believe that God want and desire is 2 Peter 3:9 and he will get what he wants. Meaning that none will perish.

Sure people died, 1,000,000 jewish people died on the day of the return of the Lord in Jerusalem in 70 Ad ,and judgement was made against them in which their whole area burnt down with fire and the elements melted.

So, I don't believe that Jesus is coming back anymore, and he had already returned and got his bride and now today we simply wrestle our own soul. Will we repent of our former ways and look to God or will we not. Are there after life consequences for doing so, yes I believe so.

Are all people annihilated? I mean destroyed, ruined? To some degree for non-believers yes, but for believers? Everyone reaps what they sow.

I believe there are two places for people after this life, in the heavenly realms those outside the kingdom who died faithless, and those who are in the kingdom with God because of their faith and it is based on having love for God and having love for others.
