Sorry I was a bit frustrated and hastily reviewed a site that shows some of the changes. But undoubtedly the catholic church is the biggest church on the planet though has had its humble beginnings and has gone through growing pains of sorts.

the topic inspired me to look more into those changes most of them have been positive a few negative and some changes in the early days was just simply to survive. Even though the Roman empire started carry a Christian flag didn't mean the roman emperor were nice guys they were still brutal ruthless I could see the church letting the emperor choose a Pope rather than have mass killing because if they said no would of been a heavy price to pay under Roman rule. Struggles to say afloat.

The slavery thing in the mid centuries was a world wide norm which was bazaar. Rather people were secular or religious didn't matter in those days. I've read the vast majority of slave ships captains were Christian kind of weird but its good they ended that.

My relatives are catholic and one I remember from my youth in the 70's and 80's is the limbo or purgatory etc about a place that is waiting place or whatever but ironically I recently just learned that stance has changed in 2007.

Have you heard about "Charles the Hammer" its a story about Christianity's last stand basically when one change on a shield made all the difference in the world hehe.
