Genetically, all humans started out black, anyway. White skin is a mutation that was genetically favored for life in Northern climates.

I agree. She was black.I have heard that about Simon of Cyrene... He was from Lybia, so it is up for debate....
ANother one may have been Moses second wife. If you go to Numbers 12:1 and on down, we see that Miriam and Aaron (Moses' brother and sister) were upset because Moses married and Ethiopian woman. That would suggest a black woman. However, another interesting thing is that the Lord punish Miriam by giving her leprosy (the Bible even points out that she was white as snow). There may be other ideas about this to consider, but its an intriguing theory. I won't argue for or against it because the Bible doesn't accually say anything about the woman's skin color. But it seems reasonable to me that she was a black woman.
And where did you get that from?
Its a safe bet that the Ethiopian that was saved while engaged in reading the scroll of Isaiah, found in the book of acts, was black. In Ethiopia there was a people known as the Falashas, that were Jewish and largely emigrated to Israel during the ethiopian civil war. In Ethiopia they have been at war repeatedly with Ethiopian Christians over the possession of what they believe to be the Ark of the Covenant. The Falashas practiced temple worship (with sacrifice) and there's at least one very well researched book that suggests that the Ark may have been taken to Egypt to the Island of Elephantine, to preserve it from invaders and then later further up the nile to a lake in ethiopia. The current claim of Ethiopian Christians is that they have the Ark of the covenant in a church called St. Mary of Zion in a town called Axum. This can't be substantiated, because one priest is selected to be the keeper of the sanctuary for life and no one else is allowed in. The ethiopian christians still use ancient musical instruments, like timbrels, and have a religious festival where they wear two boards on top of their heads, called Tabot, which are meant to resemble the tablets of the old testament covenant. They also have an interesting "legend" in old manuscripts about a prince named menalaus who was responsible for gaining possession of the ark, and who was supposed to be a descendant of the queen of Sheba. By the way, the island of Elephantine has a ruin of a copy of the temple in Jerusalem, the purpose of which was to house the Ark. I gave away the book that I had, but I believe it was called the sign and the seal, and also talks about the white men who came from the north "to help the ethiopians", but were apparently very interested in the Ark and helped them to build some remarkable churches, including ones carved out of the bedrock. Much of the book is dedicated to showing a link between the Knights templar, the Masons, some of the cathedrals in europe, the search for the grail, etc. I don't know what the author's agenda was, beyond making a profit, but the research was interesting.
I think all of the Jew haters are going to find out that they hate Jesus.
Mark 15:2 (NKJV)
2 Then Pilate asked Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" He answered and said to him, "It is as you say."
John 4:9 (NKJV)
9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?"
I agree. She was black.
Christian1488, I've read your referenced articles and I must say I don't agree with them on several points. However, I've also looked into the authors of them, and they are all pretty controversial fellows. I'm not against controversy, mind you... And I certainly am looking for the truth, no matter who does or doesn't like it. However, all these folks are accussed of having an agenda. Care to address that?
[sub]I ws thinking about this the other day. [/sub]
[sub]I used to work at a grocery store when I was young. There was a pentacostal woman that I used to sack groceries for. One day we were talking about the Bible. (I think her daughter married a black man). [/sub]
[sub]She told me she used to think that was wrong. Then she told me how she was studying the Bible and found out that Moses,,,,(Abraham?) married an Ethiopian woman. From that point on she didn't pay attention to race.[/sub]
The promotion of racial superiority of whites over blacks was one way the land owners and the wealthy use to justify slavery and to hold on to their slaves. And sadly, after emancipation many whites did not emancipate their minds from their distorted way of thinking about blacks. The liberation of one's mind is the hardest obstacle to for an individual to overcome.
True. But, I don't think the history is so simple, espescially in the southern US. With the history and the politics after the Civil War, it seems that black and white people had a distorted view of eachother. We've all made some good progress, although I don't think any of us have a clear understanding. I think the biggest problem atleast in the US is the culture boundaries. As humans we seem to all try to gravitate to a culture where we feel we fit in. Unfortunately through the history of the US, culture has been separated into little more than race.

Fair enough, but at what point is the behavior really that different on both sides when you remove the money/power of the whites of the Confederate history? I don't think it's as different as some would like us to think because of institutional biases built into cultures.
If you want examples of cultures where white people kill and hurt other white people that are very similar in culture, look no further than historic Scotland or Ireland (even of recent times). Look at Africa where different religions are resulting in genocides of African on Africans (Egypt, Sudan, etc). Heck, you see it in South America, Asia, and Europe. Look at the trends of Balkanization.
I mean I'm sorry, but I'm for calling a spade a spade. I try very hard to be cognizant and respectful of what I do. I've gone so far as to never purchase Confederate emblems and so on forth that will offend my brother, but sir, I can tell you on a daily basis I get treated differently because I am a white person. To me that's not any more justified than what was done to the black people in American history because the underlying premise is still the same. I simply want to see an acknowledgement that this is an across the board problem and then I want to see people move beyond that. You're not going to find discrimination here as far as black people and white people, because frankly I'd kick 'em out. Or vice versa. Or any other culture. (And yes, I do acknowledge that recent events made me slow in removing some antisemite knuckleheads, but they're gone all the same.)
I'm sorry but realistically I think sometimes people are looking for reasons.
