mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them
@stunnedbygrace last one, I don’t mean to be annoying but your topic is interesting. Only thinking through it to study this morning. Thank you for helping give me something to consider throughout today…instead of the same topics over and over. About to go over to my mothers because she had a bad night last night, just letting you know you have helped because topics like this give hope (Imo) and strength to move forward today, at least by a little growth every day.
“
offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned;” by “to receive to oneself” “to take alongside oneself, to acknowledge one is who they say they are”; taught of God that you ought to love one another… “
offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned”
Luke 17:1-5 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that
offences will come: but
woe unto him, through whom they come! [2] It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea,
than that he should offend one of these little ones. [3] Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. [4] And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. [5] And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
Romans 4:19-25 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: [20] He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; [21] And
being fully persuaded (let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind) that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. [22] And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. [23] Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; [24] But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; [25]
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
….reconciling the world unto Himself not imputing their offenses to them
Romans 5:15-16 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. [16] And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift
is of many offences unto justification.
Romans 14:5-9 goes well (Imo) with your topic of “to take to oneself” to come alongside oneself” to “receive to oneself” “to acknowledge one is who they say they are” because of:
For none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. [8] For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. [9] For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Again, reconciling the world unto Himself (take along side, take to oneself, receive to oneself, acknowledging one is who they say they are), not imputing their offenses to them.
Really considering…mark them which cause divisions
and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them…
