It was a personal issue between two men regarding a third party. That’s all.

Barnabas didn’t go and start a denomination.
It was a division leading to them going their separate ways. What else is denomination ? Re-read the verse in question. It shows the practice does not match the rhetoric.

Acts 1:1-3 . .The first account, O Theophilus, I composed about all the
things Jesus started both to do and to teach, until the day that he was taken
up, after he had given commandment through holy spirit to the apostles
whom he chose. To these also by many positive proofs he showed himself
alive after he had suffered.

The Watchtower Society's version of those "positive proofs" is interesting.

In order to show his friends that their savior was back from death, the arch
angel Michael is alleged to have materialized an artificial Jesus that was in all
respects just as physical, and just as functional, as the real Jesus.

However:

1» The New Testament never even one time, on any occasion, nor under any
circumstances, nor in any situation, either attests, alleges, alludes, or states
that an angel named Michael appeared to Christ's disciples cloaked in a
human avatar.

2» The Society's Michael never once let on to his friends that he was an
angel in disguise. He led them to believe that his avatar was the actual Jesus
Christ they all knew prior to his crucifixion.

3» Passing one's self off in the guise of a dead man is the lowest form of
identity theft imaginable. It's what I expect from election frauds, but that is
not the kind of behavior I have a right to expect from a high-ranking angel.

4» A so-called materialized body is a counterfeit.

5» Neither Paul, nor Peter, nor John, nor James, nor Jude, ever even one
single instance in any of their writings identify Jesus Christ as an angel
named Michael: not once. You'd think that if Jesus Christ is currently an
angel who goes by the name of Michael, those men would have said so
because that would be a really big deal.

FAQ: Why make an issue of the characteristics of Christ's resurrection?

REPLY: The predicted new world order is on track to be ruled not by angels,
rather, ruled by humans (Heb 2:5-8) A materialized human-- a.k.a. an
avatar --isn't really human; it's a fake human.

Now the way I see it: If Michael is to rule the new world order, then he will
have to undergo death all over again and his life force re-transferred to
Jesus' body, thus restoring it to life. That way Michael could be a real human
instead of an angel in disguise.

Col 1:15 . . He is the firstborn of all creation

The Greek word translated "firstborn" in that verse is prototokos, which
never means created first; no, it always means born first. The correct Greek
word for created first is protoktistos.

* The average JW probably doesn't know the difference between prototokos
and protoktistos; and no doubt would care little about it anyway. To some;
born first and created first are one and the same.

The thing to note is that "firstborn" doesn't always refer to birth order. The
term also refers to superiority, and as such is transferrable, viz: it's possible
to circumvent the eldest son and give his advantages to a younger, e.g.
Esau to Jacob (Gen 25:23) Manasseh to Ephraim (Gen 48:13-14) and
Reuben to Joseph (Gen 49:3-4, 1Chr 5:1).

In the beginning, Adam was the ranking man over all Earth (Gen 1:26-28)
but he has since been superseded by one who is the ranking man over all
the cosmos. (Dan 7:13-14, John 3:35, 1Cor 15:27, Phil 2:8-11, Heb 1:2)

It means that the Son sat at the right hand of the Father, on the Father's throne, reigning over the affairs of the kingdom. Don't know what else i can tell you.

It could mean that Brake, but consider some other testimony from the Bible. The appointed times of the nations a prophecy found in Dan 4 is a period of time that God would have no King on His throne. Jesus said it was still going on while he was on earth, it could have ended when he went back to heaven, but according to Scripture Jesus is to reign for 1 millennium and then hand the Kingdom back to his Father. Clearly God's Kingdom has not come yet sir, in fact not even the great tribulation, although we do believe we are very near the start of it.

Do you think it could stand for position? When someone sits at the right hand of someone in a formal setting it usually indicates they are in the number 2 position. A right hand man is next in line, or highest in authority other than the one at who he is at his right. Does this make sense to you Brake Mat 28:18; 1 Cor 11:3

Manifest or revealed or shown in the flesh does not mean IS God. Also, the doctrine of Christ is the only means of salvation is through the Son of God, not that he IS God.

If Jesus were God that is what the Bible would call him and not the Son of god.

I'm really at a loss as to the meaning of your post since it is not responding to what I wrote or the OP. Let me ask these series of simple yes or no questions:
  1. Is Jesus explicitly identified in Scripture as 'the son of God?'
  2. Is Jesus explicitly identified in Scripture as 'God incarnate?'
  3. Did Jesus explicitly say he has a god who is the only true god?
  4. Does Scripture explicitly say 'For us, there is one God, the Father,' at 1 COR 8:6?
  5. Do you admit there is no trinitarian verse in any of the 66 books of Scripture, nothing like, The nature of God is a trinity - consisting of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit who are co-equal, co-substantial and co-eternal - and if you do not believe this, you cannot be saved but are damned to hell forever?
I hold the answers are yes, no, yes, yes and yes. That's good enough for me and JW's. Why is it not good enough for you?

Yes, I provided many examples in the thread where they do this (i.e. I show where they violate Scripture).

Reasons why the Jehovah’s Witness religion is evil (Despite my love for them as human beings)

You can verify the claims I made for yourself on non-JW websites. Obviously the JW's are not going to admit any wrong doing of their own organization and so they will try and defend it to make it look like they are innocent. But the JW organization even the past has shown to want to control their own people in not wanting you to look at the internet (no doubt in fear that they would be found out to be liars).

The real reasons why Watchtower organization FEARS the INTERNET

Side Note:

Keep in mind that I am sure you may find one Non JW site that might appear to refute a claim I made. The idea here is to see if there are claims (Non-JW ones) that do support the claim.

I figured you could at least come up with one point, I knew that it wouldn't stand up to Scripture, but I am somewhat disappointed that you could not even come up with anywhere we were wrong in our interpretation. When you do think of something please post it, and I will certainly be glad to discuss it sir.

Either way it goes to me @Robert Gwin, know commenting twice here.

When you exclude (if you will), Baptist, Jehovah Witness, Roman Catholic Church, Westborro Baptist, Calvinist, Pre-mill, A-mill, whatever it is about things which have been used to present the bible such as teachers, prophets, pastors, deacons. There is the ability to just see there is a bible, which has been created since when did the printing press come in? The Gutenberg Bible was printed in Mainz in 1455 by Johann Gutenberg and his associates, Johann Fust and Peter Schoeffer. Only 48 copies are known to have survived, of which 12 are printed on vellum and 36 on paper.

So from around 1455, Bibles started becoming bigger in popularity. There have been cults made with it, and as the prementioned ideas that come from man. Like for example your own 'congregations', The story of Jehovah's Witnesses begins in the late 19th century near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a group of students studying the Bible. The group was led by Charles Taze Russell, a religious seeker from a Presbyterian background.

So... With the Bible, you can go and look and read it for oneself. Learning about the Nation of Israel in the Old Testament, and Creation, and that God promised to bring forth the messiah through a line of Jews, through Abraham who is the father of the faith, who had faith before any of us here right now on earth existed assuredly. You can learn about how the Lord Jesus Christ, was sent down from heaven, and how he was not wanted (as he was not beautiful), many people doubted him, and were faithless when seeing him. Questioned by Pharisees to prove signs and missing what was already done in front of them, healing people from blind, mute, sickness, raising people from the dead. The Apostles were also able to do this by the Holy Spirit in their day in time. The whole of the bible revolves around the Father (Jehovah/YHWH/Yahweh), but also around the Son - His only begotten-son whom was raised from the dead. Showing defeat over death, and that is how it shall before any persons believer or not.

Human beings will raise again to life. Now where is that? I personally believe they are raised up in the Heavenly Realm where God's city the new Jerusalm is located and it is spiritual because God is spirit, and God dwells there in that city, with the Lamb as the light (if I recall correctly). There are people who are on the outside of the gates, known to have loved to lie to people, commit murders, dogs, and were unbelievers. There are those who are faithful go into the city, having had washed their robes (having their sins taken for by JEsus and having lived by Him in this life by the Spirit of Christ).

Therefore with all this, the conclusion is this. Any person (in a denomination) can be a Christian, having faith on the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Seeking God in faith, which pleases Him, and grow in knowledge and worship God in spirit and truth. In this, one discovers new life set free from the old life because of Jesus having done everything we could not do. So that human beings are free to choose to live their life as they please, knowing they responsible along to God when they leave this life. It is good to have love for God, and your neighbor and remember that the Gospel of Christ is the power unto salvation (which is a restored renewed soul (mind/will/emotion) that dwells in our flesh. Once this flesh passes away the soul goes on to the spiritual heavenly realm of God where he resides.

Many believe in coming back to earth, or reincarnation, or they will have some utopia living on the earth, I do not believe this personally. What I do believe is that, all people are resurrected into a new spiritual realm which is unlike this, and God has a purpose for it all in his plan for the good of all, and those who do not choose to seek, will be outside the gates of the kingdom.

Wouldn't it be nice Matt if God accepted all those who tried to worship Him, no matter what faith. I hope you are correct, but that is not a teaching of the Bible. It isn't hard to discern where all the faiths came from
(Acts 20:29, 30) 29 I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.
(Matthew 7:15) “Be on the watch for the false prophets who come to you in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.
(2 Thessalonians 2:3) Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.
(2 Peter 2:1) However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you. These will quietly bring in destructive sects, and they will even disown the owner who bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves.
(1 Timothy 4:1) However, the inspired word clearly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired statements and teachings of demons,
(2 Timothy 4:3, 4) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled. 4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.
(1 John 2:18, 19) Young children, it is the last hour, and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared, from which fact we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us. But they went out so that it might be shown that not all are of our sort.

As you can see from the Apostle John, the apostasy was already well on it's way before his death. Like you say, the Bible is available to all of us, and it clearly identifies God's people, and Zech 8:23 shows our responsibility in finding them and joining with them. Again I hope you are correct, but I fully believe everyone you know has been given the opportunity to know God and have been reached personally by His people at least once in their lives. When God is satisfied that all have been reached with the good news, Mat 24:14 then He is going to send His son again. Why? To remove those that do not know Him, nor obey the gospel of Christ 2 Thes 1:6-9. Although I would love to see it happen the way you see it, I tend to believe what the Bible really teaches my friend. Now is definitely the time to make the decision to serve Jehovah as the door is not yet shut.

I personally think so Wrangler, but why do you think they are?

My 1st post in this thread answered that question. Let me know if anything I wrote needs to be clarified.

Another JW bashing thread!

You seem to possess a real divisive Spirit lately. JW’s say they are Christian. They read the Bible. That’s good enough for me.

I generally take people’s word on this subject.

Agreed! There is not a doctrinal purity test to be saved. I don’t believe it is righteous to judge a denomination based on the doctrines they focus on.

I believe the proper purview of the question, ‘Are you a (real) Christian?’ applies only at the individual level.

I di dnot look at all teh responses but here is my answer. One cannot be A "Christian" until they have placed their trust in the death, burial and PHYSICAL resurrection of Jesus for their sins. Jehovah's Witnesses that God destroyed Jesus body and He spiritually rose. thyus they cannot be Christians for they deny the physical resurrection.

I am convinced (warning just my opinion) that someone can become a Christian without acknowledging the deity of Christ. If their conversion is real, they will come to recognize the deity of Jesus and accept it. God is patient and knows the heart. Sometimes it takes time to unravel craftily fashioned false doctrine that sounds so appealing but is false- like many JW doctrines.

Then obviously in your eyes I am not a Christian, and of course I feel that way about you sir. Which is of no consequence on either of our parts. The real truth is that one has to worship God in spirit and truth. I say Jehovah is God, and you say Jesus. That is fine, but clearly one of us is not going to make it, according to 2 Thes 1:6-9 I have made my choice to stand on Jehovah's side of the issue, and if I have chosen wrongly, then only I am to blame. You say Jesus suffered and gave a portion of his life for us, whereas Adam died permanently. We say the sacrifice was corresponding, in other words Jesus gave his flesh and blood as a sacrifice forever, he did not take it back sir. Clearly only one of us can be correct in our understanding. Your doctrines do not match the Bible's teachings in my eyes Ron. Again I recommend that you worship and serve the God of Jesus, the one Jesus told satan you should worship. Mat 4:10

Good Morning Wrangler, and such good questions but my answer is yes, but to wisdom, knowledge, and understanding I would say to these scriptures: He Shall Be Great, And Shall He Shall Be Called The Son Of The Highest:

Jesus said in John four:24 that God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

LUKE 1:32 KJV "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the..." (kingjamesbibleonline.org)

2 Corinthians Five:17-21

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

John Ten:30

I am sorry that I have responded to this twice Ron, but as I am studying for the meeting tonight, this came up, so I thought I would relay it sir:
Some religious leaders teach that Jesus is God. However, read John 20:17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’”

What is the truth? Are God and Jesus the same person?

How does it make you feel to know that Jehovah has sent His witnesses to preach the truth about Him and His Son?

This was recorded for us in our new study book that we take beginning students through. You and I both agree the Bible contains the truth, so what does the Bible really teach Ron.

Hello Robert Gwin, I have viewed this thread:
Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

Eph. 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the Faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism:

Ephesians Four

1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Love, Walter and Debbie

Thanks much Walter and Debbie, I appreciate your 100% truth post sir and maam. Agape to you as well.

The Gospel of John is the most anti-trinitarian book of the whole Bible. At 17:3 he says his God - our Father - is the only true God.
