I like to see that too. Usually, people become too offended for it to happen though.
Or they just don't know how to respond. I generally see that first, and then come the games. Offense, a lack of a good answer, all triggers to the flesh.

Much love!

Keeping the commandments is good, that will lead to eternal life.
Giving up everything for the sake of the kingdom is better. Not many of us are chosen for this degree of servitude, and it is NOT a command.
It's both/and, good/better not either/or.
Either/or is false dichotomous thinking.
Had to look that word up.
Dichotomous thinking is the propensity to think of things in terms of binary opposition, such as “black or white”, “good or bad”, or “all or nothing”. This thinking style can be viewed as the tendency to get stuck in either the thesis or the antithesis, unable to move toward synthesis (Linehan, 1993).

very good.

As i pointed out earlier, from Matt 9:6 when Christ was "ON EARTH" during His personal earthly ministry He had been given the power to forgive sins of those who He tho't were deserving as the thief and the woman. Therefore no one today can be saved as they for Christ is not on earth today forgiving sins of people personally but left behind His NT as His authority that requires people today under that NT to believe repent confess and be baptized.

People will be judged by the law under which they lived and none in the OP lived under the NT gospel for it was not yet in force.
If one is a believer , Jesus took whatever judgement they were due and nailed it to the Cross....totally forgiven and totally forgotten..... “ Your Sins I will Remember no more”.......God doesn’t even do this For “ your” sake—- He does it for His own.....

There is no remission of sins without blood . The problem was that many under the old covenant
were living it up in evil and they going through the motions of offering up the sacrifices . THEY had no heart for GOD .
GOD was wore out with even their praises and their sacrfices . WHY . Cause they had no heart for GOD
it was simply all routine . THANK GOD FOR JESUS that now we have been given new hearts by which we can truly worship GOD
as HE has always desired to be worshipped . Its kinda like what has become of christanity in large today .
Many now simply live it up in sin , embrace evil , and yet go to confessions , ONLY to live it up in sin and later go back to the same
confessions . THEY have no heart for GOD . ONLY a heart for a god that serves them .
But those in CHRIST , do have a heart for GOD . FOR GOD has given them that HEART . Let us open bibles
and with a fully persauded mind and all hope in the LORD begin afresh and start learning and growing in the things o God .
The only “ heart” that God wants to see out of an unsaved man is a “ Contrite “ one......lacking that, one can not even enter the Starting Gate Of Christianity......l

Salvation is impossible apart from obedience.

Per Matt 6, there is nothing wrong with giving alms openly or praying openly for Jesus said to 'let your light so shine before men' hence Jesus was not requiring absolute secrecy. What Jesus was condemning was the false motives in doing these things openly simply to be seen by men.
True——- but only if you are the are talking about the “ Obedience” to the Gospel.....THAT and THAT ALOnE is what saves us today , this side of the Cross...Simply Believe 1cor15;1-4 and let God “ Finish the work that He started “

The choice of life and death has been given through the glorious truth of our LORD .
CHOOSE YE THIS DAY LIFE , Which means COME YE TO CHRIST JESUS .
But sadly many chose death . No matter how well sung the song of the glorious gospel is they find fault
with the author of said salvation and create another god unto their own destruction .
This pope is deadly and i shall not shun to warn against it or the all inclusive lie . Rather let us learn those bibles well
and follow Christ . Spot on right lamb . This is a serious matter indeed . ITS LIFE or DEATH . It aint life and oh maybe not so good a life .
NOT it is LIFE or its death . JESUS IS LIFE , any other path is death and leadeth only to the second death .
A stickler to the gospel of truth we must be .

I see that you are STILL harping about that poor pope! Keep up the good work.....lol....

Agree or disagree?

“Christians are like manure: spread them out and they help everything grow better, but keep them in one big pile and they stink horribly.”

“When it’s hard and you are doubtful, give more.”

“Can you worship a God who isn’t obligated to explain His actions to you? Could it be your arrogance that makes you think God owes you an explanation?”

“But God doesn’t call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn’t come through.”

“Lukewarm people don’t really want to be saved from their sin; they want only to be saved from the penalty of their sin.”

“Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.”

“The irony is that while God doesn’t need us but still wants us, we desperately need God but don’t really want Him most of the time.”

“Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers.”

“God is the only being who is good, and the standards are set by Him. Because God hates sin, He has to punish those guilty of sin. Maybe that’s not an appealing standard. But to put it bluntly, when you get your own universe, you can make your own standards.”

“Do you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people he has made?”
Good stuff- might I add ——- “ Anybody that thinks that they are good enough to go to Heaven is damned “ ......thank you for your time.....lol.....

Are you sure…? To hear and finally see the parable has maybe saved a lot of Pharisees/hypocrites like me.
Yes, Jesus wasn't going so far as to say that God won't save Pharisees and hypocrites. Bear in mind that during the first century, the Greek word for "hypocrite" meant "actor". Jesus was accusing the Pharisees of acting, pretending to be righteous, acting out a script. The sermon on the mount (Matthew 6) describes the manner by which these men acted "righteous". They prayed in public; they gave alms in public; when fasting, they purposely looked the part.

When God is saving a hypocrite, that person is suddenly aware of his or her own sin. They suddenly admit the truth about themselves; they more easily forgive others; they resist being judgmental; they no longer hold other people in contempt; and they stop acting. They stop acting out the script of what Christians look like and begin learning what being a Christian is REALLY all about.

Keep going sister. Your eyes are open and your heart is with him.

What you are describing, does not take into account that a believer can have a faith crisis, and their faith is broken.
Or they can "fall from Grace", and literally stop believing that Jesus keeps them saved, and thereby they become a SELF Saver, who is now trying to stay saved, or even "get saved again".

So, there are millions of believers , born again, with NO Assurance of Salvation.
ZERO.

Just ask them on this forum, if the believe they can "lose their salvation", and you have found a believer who no longer believes in anything except their works, and trying to be "be like Christ".
They will talk about keeping commandments as a REQUIREMENT, to go to heaven.
Or water baptism.
Or, "enduring to the end".
They will tell you exactly what is on their LIST that they BELIEVE they have to DO, if they want to go to heaven, OR< stay out of hell., which is really the same broken faith, belief system.
You are right. I didn't talk about those who fall away. But assurance isn't a matter of gaining more or better faith. After all, Jesus said all we need is a faith the size of a mustard seed. Assurance comes from testing. Peter, James and Paul each speak about the testing of our faith, because the testing of our faith is more precious than pure gold. The testing of our faith leads to wisdom, especially the knowledge that we are genuine believers who will be saved. The testing of our faith gives us a firm basis for our hope, that we are indeed one of his.

So then, if there are millions of believers who have no assurance of salvation, they only need to read Romans 5, James 1, and Peter 1 and to thank God when tested. Meet every test with prayers of thanksgiving.

Amen?

The first half of the Gospel That must be believed in order to be Saved says that “ Jesus died for our sins” .....nobody that claims to be a Christian will deny that............unfortunately, just like the people that week after week , mindlessly sing “ nothing But The Blood”, they might say it or sing it but they don’t really believe it..... therein lies the problem......people have heard that Jesus died for their sins so many times they don’t even think about it anymore....if one “ really” Believes that Jesus died for their sins it would naturally follow that there is no sin that remains that could damn them....THAT Realization is what gives Assurance and Security ......people pay “ lip service “ to the Gospel but in their hearts they don’t really believe it. If you have no true belief— their will never be any true assurance. This is the First and most Essential Of your “ tests” ......Fail “that” test and you may not be a Christian at all.....

The thing is most folks better know the JESUS they follow . Cause if one follows another jesus , i got real bad news , it cannot save them .
If for example one were to follow a jesus that calls evil good and good evil , i got bad news IT AINT JESUS and they aint saved .
Another example is if one says HEY i am christain but it aint necessary for others to believe in JESUS and that GOD is fine
with all religoins , I GOT REAL BAD NEWS .
My advice is we better know THE JESUS WE FOLLOW and HE had better be the one in the bible .

If folks only knew how fast that false inclusive one world religoin was filling churches they might help me harp a bit more .
This stuff has taken many a church as well as the other religions captive . It ought not to suprise us
that the world and false religoins suck it up . BUT WHEN the mass of christanity is sucking it up , well just know we are near the end
and that GOD wont have His Son trod under foot for a false love god . The wrath of GOD is coming
and my advice is we better be pointing to JESUS CHRIST as the absolute and only means whereby one can be saved .

People need to see that God HATES “Religion”........Why? It’s because Christianity is not a Religion......It’s the Polar Opposite Of Christianity ......Religion says, “ Do” ——- Christianity says , “ Done” .......knowing the difference could determine Heaven from Hell.....

The gospel requires more than one simply believe, it requires repentance (Lk 13:3) confession (Mt 10:32-33) and baptism (Mk 15:16). Therefore the examples cited in the OP are NOT examples of NT gospel salvation for the NT gospel was not yet in effect (Heb 9:15-17). For examples of NT salvation one must look AFTER Christ died and the NT gospel was in effect went forth (Lk 24:47) beginning in Acts 2 where we have the first recorded gospel sermon.

When Jesus was "on earth" the OT law was still in effect and Christ had been given the authority to forgive sins of those whom He thought was deserving. Therefore it is impossible for anyone today to be saved as those cited in the OP. Christ left earth some 2000 years ago leaving His NT gospel as His authority on earth and it requires man to believe, repent of sins, confession and baptism for one to be saved.
