Light is good.Reasoning is good, but better to receive what is known by God, than to debate what men only speculate about. We were not left alone. Opinions and and judgments were never to take the place of God. They only light the path for those who walk according to His will. There are also many paths leading to destruction.
I don't believe the bible says that God gives every man the same amount of measure of understanding, or faith, or reasoning.
These are things we need to work out between the individual and the Spirit or amongst a group of likeminded spirit led members.
There is none perfect, no not one..
I believe from time to time God reveals himself in different ways to different people. So everyone gets a piece of the pie and no one person becomes glutoneous.
We know the basics. We have been given the foundation.
But each individual is required to build upon this. We are instructed to be careful how we build upon it though.
measure:
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
1Co 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
Not everyone hears the same way:
Mar 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
If we had it all, then there would be no need to add to the measure. But like a door, I believe God opens our understanding as we are able to receive it.
Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
I like this version NLT:
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
I guess my conclusion would be:
" but better to receive what is known by God, than to debate what men only speculate about. "
No one knows what God has given each individual to know concerning himself.
And what God may be revealing to one person, may appear as speculation on the part of another.
We should agree though, that whatever we add stays within the framework of the original foundation.
And what is that framework?
There is only one God. And we are here to serve Him.
Mic 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
