I see nothing in those passages about being tested for a gift. which is why I commented the way I did.
you don't get tested for a gift. A gift is freely given. paid for by the giver
you get tested for a wage or reward.. which you pay for yourself by hard work..
salvation is a gift. not a reward/
While I love Robert Gwin as a human being, I don’t love his false religion. It’s unfortunate, but Robert Gwin is a Jehovah’s Witness who refuses to repent of his false religion and to see the truth of God’s Word and who hides under the label of Christian seeking to not spare the true flock of God. Here is my thread on why they are not of God.
Reasons Why The Jehovah’s Witness Religion is False (Despite My Love for Them as Human Beings)
So I don’t give him the time of day (Since my giving him my rebuke of his false religion).
However, you said, “you don’t get tested for a gift.”
However, Christians are tested according to Scripture, though.
Allow me to explain:
We have access to God’s grace through faith (Romans 5:1-2).
Romans 5:1-2
”Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also
we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Faith is what is tested.
James 1:2-3
"My brethren,
count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience."
Jesus not only baptizes us with the Holy Spirit but He also baptizes us with fire, too (See: Matthew 3:11).
This baptism of fire is the testing of our faith by our enduring suffering or persecution for Christ’s sake.
1 Peter 4:12-14
“
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye;”
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:9 (BLB) "whom you... resist, firm in the faith,..."
1 Peter 5:9 (KJB) "
knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."
A great example of Christians enduring persecution and suffering for Christ’s sake as a part of the testing of their faith (i.e. the baptism of fire done by our Lord Jesus Christ) is illustrated in the film called, “Polycarp.”(Whereby we see Christians put to death for their faith in Jesus Christ).

So our faith is what is tested, not the gift.
Christians need to stand firm in their faith to continually gain access to God’s grace.
We are told in the Bible:
“...We are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.” (
Hebrews 3:13-14).
"Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." (
Jude 1:21).
"...be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." (
Revelation 2:10).
We are told in the Bible:
- Continue in the grace of God (Acts of the Apostles 13:43).
- Continue in the faith (Acts of the Apostles 14:22) (Colossians 1:23).
- Continue in his goodness, otherwise we can be cut off (just like the Jews were cut off) (Romans 11:21-22).
I hope this helps, and may the LORD Jesus Christ bless you today.
