Putting on the Armor of God is done in your mind of real faith.

Putting on the Armor of God is to understand who you are in Christ, which is the renewed mind.
That's how you put it on, and keep it on.

Let me show you a mystery.

Your "old man", is "crucified with Christ"........so, WHO is Left?
WHO is left, if your old man, is dead?
Paul tells us to reckon the old man dead.....to esteem this old man of the flesh, dead.
If he wasn't dead, then Paul would not tell you to understand that He is dead, and God would not tell you to put on His Armor.

Listen........
God does not put His Spiritual Armor on the dead. He puts it on the NEW MAN, the "new Creation in Christ", Born again.

See it?

So, if the old man, and your sin, has been crucified with Christ, then Who IS LEFT= is the REAL YOU THAT GOD Sees.
As what remains is who you have become, as born again, in Christ.
This is the REAL YOU.... the NEW YOU, that God sees, as you being born again..

This is the "New Creation in Christ".

When you put him on, you are putting on right understanding regarding the revelation of who you have become as "the righteousness of God in Christ".
So, when you understand this.......when you SEE IT..........when you get the revelation, you are now coming into the renewed mind, and that is how you put on the ARMOR....as the Armor is the New Man. You do it in your MIND OF FAITH regarding now having the understanding that God has made you a "new creation in Christ".....= born again as : "The RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD"......"In Christ".
That is who you became, if you are born again, and to understand this and maintain this right mind, is to "put on the new man", which is the "armor of God".

Ephesians 4:24, KJV: And that ye put on the NEW MAN, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Ephesians 4:24, NASB: and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Ephesians 4:24 — The New International Version (NIV)

24 and to put on the new self, created by God, to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 4:24 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Ephesians 4:24 — New Living Translation (NLT)

24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Ephesians 4:24 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Excellent, who is putting on the armor?

Only the born again.

Paul says it another way also.... He says to..."be renewed in the spirit of your mind"....
Thats another way, another verse that is describing the putting on of the Armor of God.

"God is A Spirit", and the armor of God is Spiritual.

The battlefield for the control of you, happens in your mind.
And "as you thinketh, so your are". = so you will do and become.

Wrong thinking, which is wrong faith, that is based on self righteousness, vs understanding God's Righteousness that is a "GIFT" is how a born again person keeps the armor of God off of them.
To put it on, is to understand that the spiritual armor = is the revelation of who you have become, born again = as "the righteousness of God in Christ" and exist in that reality, as your "renewed mind".
That's how you "walk in the Spirit" and that is how you perfect your discipleship, and the end result of staying in this "renewed mind"... is that you will eventually become on earth "the fullness of the Stature of Christ"... Paul teaches, and you will be one of these.. "as many as be Perfect".....Paul teaches.

Well said, although I would add that wrong thinking is not necessarily wrong faith based on self righteousness @Behold.
To be in a STATE of habitual wrong thinking means the person is not reborn.
Could be right, could be wrong.
Keep this up.

Well, my Thread has a context which is the topic, which is """ putting on the Armor.""
There are other "wrong thinking" that Christians can become....sure.
However, this Thread's Topic's context is, the end result of having the right mind or the wrong mind, and that is based on "thinking". As how you think is what you believe, and when you believe in opposition to the finished work of Jesus on the Cross that is the only provision that God offers to impute righteousness, then your Christianity, is upside down, and will stay there.
You find these deceived self righteous people on forums talking about "losing salvation" and how you have to add your good deeds and self effort to your faith, so that God can accept both..
These are legalist, who are committing the "error of cain"..... and they are "fallen from Grace".... and that is also caused by wrong thinking. (deception).
So, when your thinking is wrong regarding SALVATION, your faith is wrong also, because its broken.
Broken faith, cannot put on the armor of God.

Not here to argue @Behold and I'm sorry for disrupting this thread, I am all for the imputed righteousness of God in Christ reckoned to my account, but lately I have read some strange things re this imputed righteousness from a well known member.
Disturbing.
Keep this up.

Is there not a way that you can make them see the error of there ways?
Yes there are some that willfully turned their backs on Christ, but some here are subtly indoctrinated @Behold, do you have a harsh message to them?

The devil is on the job.
His #1 job is to keep everyone he can from trusting in Christ, so that, they die damned. John 3:36

If you are born again, reader, His Job 1 is to redirect your faith away from the Cross, and unto yourself, so that you end up with no faith in Christ, while you get stuck in a mental loop of performing for God as your idea of how to keep yourself saved.

No, it’s this:

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” (Ephesians 6:14-16)

The devil is on the job.
His #1 job is to keep everyone he can from trusting in Christ

No:

“…your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8)

His Job 1 is to redirect your faith away from the Cross

No. His job also is to tempt us into sin. Especially those in the faith as to permanently disqualify them from the kingdom of God.

“For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.” (1 Thessalonians 3:5)

No. His job also is to tempt us into sin.

Here is something you dont understand.

"whatever is NOT OF FAITH = is SIN".

Do you see?

So, when the DEVIL leads a born again believer into broken faith.......which is faith in self effort, instead of REAL FAITH that Jesus always keeps you saved....then you are in SIN, because you faith is NOT Faith .

See that?
That is the REAL SIN. that matters, as that sin is Cross rejecting, that pretends it has faith in Christ., and THAT is what the Devil wants you to continue to have as your broken faith., = Michiah-Imla.

More unbiblical ramblings…

But the scriptures speak of those made shipwreck by their own choices by blasphemous teachings; whom Paul himself delivers unto Satan!

“Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.” (1 Timothy 1:19-20)

You can wreck your good conscience in willfully sinning after receiving knowledge of the truth.

Very nicely put. The distinctions between the old and new protects against contamination an adulteration

24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Ephesians 4:24 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
All Christians put on the Spiritual Armor sir, especially the born again.
