When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

Because putting on immortality is not receiving an immortal body. No such thing as bodily immortality, as that is Satan's Greek mythology.
Paul is saying death is putting on life, to be exact. Mortal = death and immortality = not death. But it is more than remaining in death. We don't take death with us into heaven. So Paul is saying something besides what you are saying. It is unbelievable that you stick with Greek mythological terms, instead of understanding what Paul is actually saying. Paul is saying the soul puts on an incorruptible body, and the incorruptible body puts on the spirit.
Only those alive on earth have to do both. Those in Paradise who Jesus brings with Him only have to put on the spirit, the symbolic robe of white in the 5th Seal.
Yes, all of Adam's flesh has to be changed. But those in Paradise since the Cross, 1993 years ago, already have the physical resurrection body, because they could not enter Paradise until it was made physically possible, which was the physical act of the Cross. Certainly God could have let souls into Paradise at the time of the Flood, but that was not the plan. Certainly God could declare it over at the Second Coming and no millennium kingdom on earth, but that is not the plan. Souls waited in Abraham's bosom for almost 4,000 years. Then souls with bodies have waited in Paradise for almost 2,000 years. Now glorified redeemed, with soul, body, and spirit will still wait the last 1,000 years, until Jesus accomplishes the kingdom on earth, to hand all of creation back to God.

Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies.
And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain.
But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body.
When he said that, he was including the periods and times leading up to the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord very clearly involves global destruction, which is made abundantly clear in 2 Peter 3:10-13. How long do you think it will take the Lord to destroy the earth with fire? Why would that take longer than a 24 hour day? That makes no sense.
No, 2 Peter 3:10 is not talking about people being cast into the lake of fire. It's talking about physical destruction that occurs just before the judgment occurs when people are cast into the lake of fire.
Do you think that you make a strong argument when you don't specifically address someone else's points and don't offer any scriptural support for your opinions?

I posted there was a resurrection from the dead at the Cross.
God does give the soul a permanent incorruptible physical body in Paradise.
2 Corinthians 5:1
Paul was using metaphor to a society that was agricultural. You don't think Adam's dead corruptible flesh is a literal plant seed, do you?
Paul told what and where that body is and comes from.
"we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."
Do you think Adam's dead flesh is a plant seed that comes out of the ground as a building?
What Bible version are you Quoting which says……”that God will bring with Jesus”

The “rapture” is not defined as a “resurrection”.

While Paul and others raised the dead back into mortal bodies of death, Jesus starting with Lazarus raised them into God's permanent incorruptible body. That is why the Pharisees rejected Jesus and this type of Ressurection. They were so blinded in their belief that they wanted to kill Jesus and save their own hides (from the Romans).
All those in Paradise have been resurrected into newness of life. They have put on that permanent incorruptible body. They will meet us in the air. Unless one here passes on to Paradise in the mean time. Paul expected to be alive at that point, but there have been millions already gathered there since the first century.
At the Second Coming all will be glorified. So there literally will not be a resurrection at the rapture. But those already there will meet us halfway as a stage for all to see on earth what they all missed out on by rejecting Jesus. Those on earth should be prepared for the trib and literally all sheol to break out on earth. But they won't be, because if they were, they would not still be on earth.
BTW that is the 5th and 6th Seal events. Jesus and the angels will continue on down to earth. Jesus upon the mount of Olives will part the land literally and make a level plain of Jerusalem and the surrounding area for miles. That is per Zechariah 14.

There is no scripture that declares a rapture BEFORE the Resurrection - not one!!!
1 Thess 3:13 - "so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints."
Who are these Saints?
the Holy Spirit irrefutably defines for us who these Saints are = 1 Thess 4:13-18
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep/died in Jesus.

1 Thes 4: 16-17 expressly says:
WHO is risen up.
WHEN they are risen up.
WHO raises them up.
TO WHERE they are risen up.

I didn't have a question mark there. Where are you getting that from? I quoted the verse from the NIV if that's what you're asking. But, you added the question mark, not me.
No, "him" is Jesus. That verse is talking about the souls of the dead in Christ coming with Jesus at His second coming. Their bodies will be changed and they will unite with their changed bodies, and together with those who are alive and remain will meet the Lord "in the air" at that time.
How do you interpret that verse? You think it's saying them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with God. How does that make any sense? What would that even mean?

Is called ‘Caught up”.
Resurrections have occurred throughout Scripture.
Every time a Resurrection occurred throughout Scripture, A body died ON Earth, and that body was raised back to Life ON Earth…
Being caught up is a body ON Earth being RAISED to the Clouds….NOT Earth.
There is a difference.
Resurrection is a body being raised up in life ON the Earth.
The Clouds is not the Earth.
AFTER that…is the physically alive IN Christ, being raised UP (not to the Earth) but to the clouds.

He believes in Jesus, that He died and God Raised Him back to life?
They were witnesses. They saw that. They already believed that.
So No. What Jesus was IMPRESSING was to
BELIEVE:
JESUS IS THE CHRIST, the Son of the Living God.
WHY?
BECAUSE it is that confession of Belief, which IS the very basis for a MAN to be FORGIVEN for not having Believed IN the Lord God Almighty, IS the creator and maker.
BECAUSE it is that confession of Belief, that the HOLY SPIRIT will accept that mans body, as dead, crucified with Jesus, save that mans soul, and quicken that mans spirit….AND Gods SPIRIT enter that man AND KEEP that man by HIS POWER forever WITH the Lord God Almighty.
The ORDER and WAY of God is to hear His Word, believe IN His Word…..continue hearing, continue believing…….UNTIL WHAT?
Until he is “Prepared” IN Gods Word….which IS TO SAY….”IN JESUS”…..to WHAT?
TO Heartfully GIVE his LIFE (his body) unto death FOR the Lord God.
When a man confesses…
Jesus IS THE Christ, THE Son of the Living God….He “IS” agreeing to LAY DOWN HIS OWN BODILY LIFE FOR the Lord God.
God provides and blesses MEN routinely and has for centuries…
What is the ONLY precious thing any man could possibly willingly give to God?
Gold, money, power, apple pie?
NO….ONLY …
His OWN LIFE.
AND WHEN a man does THAT ^….
God fulfills His PROMISE, and MAKES that man WHOLE….body, soul, spirit….and KEEPS him WHOLE forever.
It’s a DONE DEAL….but the mystery is…it has NOT been manifested for men to SEE their new body…..
Yet the mystery is resolved….BECAUSE GODS SEES what human eyes can not.
