Here's a quick cognition test.

You see a toaster, and you see a car. You know they are different, right? Now let's say you toast your bread on the hot motor, does that mean the car isn't a car? No. Let's say the car's motor was removed. Does that mean it's a toaster? No, it's still a car, missing parts. Let's say it was manufactured with some toaster parts included. Does that mean it's not a car? You can answer that as you drive it around.

We can all tell the difference between these two items, even when there are variations, deviations, changes, all that. We can still tell the difference.
