Is seeking God's face only done when we pray? I'd like to see explanations on what seeking God's face is.

To me this is a matter of holding myself still, mind quiet and ready, determined to not move until I know His will, His desire for me. Like the master who directs his servant with his eye, I'm looking for that flick of the eye that tells me what I need to know, to do, to change, or whatever it is.Is seeking God's face only done when we pray? I like that. The free man is God's slave. And the slave is free in Christ. To me this is a matter of holding myself still, mind quiet and ready, determined to not move until I know His will, His desire for me. Like the master who directs his servant with his eye, I'm looking for that flick of the eye that tells me what I need to know, to do, to change, or whatever it is.
Praying and meditating on the Scriptures, and knowing that I need His leading, I need to be close to Him, I need Him. I need His countenance to become mine.
Much love!
He does speak to us; and because we are all unique he may speak in a different way to each one of us. But we do have to be alert, still and quiet to hear what he says. He can speak to us through dreams or from nature, he can speak to us through the words on a page or spoken by another person and obviously he can speak to us through our bibles. And he can speak directly into our spirits which I think is the best of all as it is so wonderful that the God of Creation shares his thoughts with us.I like that. The free man is God's slave. And the slave is free in Christ.
I believe God still speaks to us but we often need to be quiet and listen by faith.
God's face is Jesus. That's the long and the short of it.Is seeking God's face only done when we pray? I'd like to see explanations on what seeking God's face is.
God's face is Jesus. That's the long and the short of it.
This will probably be dismissed because Jesus is sort of seen as a piece of candy which you suck for a while, get a fix and then go on because he's not considered the main meal.
Problem is, not having an idea what the main meal looks like or consists of adds to the dilemma. Insult to injury is added to the 'believer' because Jesus reality is not thought worthy of further enquiry.
Who ever imagined the Messiah would be born of a teenager and raised in a backwater village?
Who ever imagined the Creator of the vast Cosmos would get around as a child and in diapers and who ever thought that his mother would be viewed as a tart.....with its stigma reflecting on Jesus?
Yet God chose to reveal his Glory not n a wiz-bang show of Earthly status and power which men expect for it impresses them but through the humble reality of the incarnation.
.....and in Pauls words, God choose the weak things to bring to nothing the strong.....
1co 13:12 | For now we see through a glass, darkly; but THEN face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. |
Mt 6:33 | But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. |
Mt 7:7 | Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: |
Mt 7:8 | For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. |
