Sorry it took so long to reply to this
Please explain what you meant by no Jewish slants if you remember
In Acts 2 what gospel do you think they were preaching?
You said concerning Acts 2:
"In the above verses it should be noted that Peter was not addressing the newly formed church, the Body of Christ, but rather, Israel only."
You cannot know who all present there that Peter was addressing, nor that those present were only Jews. Thus you've been wrongly taught a Jewish slant to Acts 2.
Acts 2:5
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
KJV
Just because they were referred to as Jews does NOT mean they were all of the tribe of Judah. Like the Jewish historian Josephus said, those who returned from the Babylon captivity back to Jerusalem took the name 'Jew', and likewise all those LIVING there did also. That means foreigners not of bloodline Israel that lived in Judea also. Thus the title of 'Jew' at that time actually meant a 'Judean', just as a foreigner of another nation moving to the U.S. to live in Texas would call theirself a Texan.
