The Cross is an Idol to Christians, is it !
Yes, since God’s law to his people was NOT to make images of “anything” to use in worship….the cross adorns churches across the world in defiance of his clearly stated rule. It is seen on Christendom’s clergy but Exodus 20:4 it says not to “make“ them…..otherwise there would be nothing to worship, like the Israelites needed a visual thing to represent their God, so they pressured Aaron into making an idol for them…a golden calf that they called “Yahweh”. God punished them for that.
At the hands of the Romans
Yes Reggie, Christ died at the hands of the Romans, who nailed him to his execution stake…..who do you think Jesus asked forgiveness for ? Not the Pharisees who orchestrated his murder, and whom he had already condemned to Gehenna. It was the Roman soldiers, just doing their job, unaware of who it was that they were executing.
The Jews Killed Stephen stoned him to death in fact !
And Saul of Tarsus (who became the Apostle Paul) stood by approving of his murder. Jews often stoned people whom they wanted to get rid of….Paul himself was stoned and left for dead on a few occasions. But the Jews wanted a public execution for Jesus so that they could gloat and show a demonstration of their power even under Roman Law.
Our Sin nature did kill Jesus, fool ! That is the key to what it's all about !
You have that all backwards….Jesus willingly came to offer his life for us. We inherited sin through no fault on our part….Jesus was not forced or coerced into giving his life for us…it was an act of love….on the part of both Father and son. (John 3:16)
Anyone who claims God to be incharge is a fool and a Satanist ! for such a one to claim such dribble is charging God with all that passes as evil !
Good grief man…..do you not understand the difference between God’s permitting something and his causing it?
Everything that takes place on this planet does so with God’s permission, because he is giving the devil and all who fall for his lies, “enough rope” to hang or to condemn themselves.
The story of Job is there to show us how far he will let the devil go before he says “enough”.
Why is Job’s story in the Bible if not to help us understand that it’s not about what we can see….but about what we can’t see, that is the problem. Job was unaware of the source of his trails, yet he remained loyal and faithful to his God.
Would you call the 6 million Jews that were served up for a burnt offering a Holocaust ? dear Aunty Jane, because if one does claim such was a Holocaust ! Then you are guilty of serving another god ?
What on earth has the holocaust got to do with the price of fish?
Do you have any idea of what took place in those camps and who was persecuted and executed along with those 6 million Jews? The Holocaust Museum in NYC has a special exhibit dedicated to Jehovah’s Witnesses who also lost their lives in those camps. Unlike the Jews, whom Hitler wanted to simply exterminate, he gave Jehovah’s Witnesses a declaration for renouncing their faith and they could sign it and walk free. What most did not know is that any who did, were taken out and shot. Hitler hated JW more than he hated the Jews because he could not control them, even with the threat of torture and death.
My brothers by and large stood firm, even in the face of immediate execution and did not sign.
This is turn prompted many guards and Jewish inmates to seek out Jehovah’s Witnesses after the war and become part of our brotherhood, witnessing their courage and the failure of their own religious institutions to help them.
Like so many, you seem to have such limited knowledge about so many things….and “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing”….for so many reasons.
