Jews and gentiles alike, hold on tightly to this simple truth: Christianity begins with Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, Son of the living God.

Thanks.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren.
True,

"For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night" Rev 12:11

This refers to paganism (1 Peter 5:8 Peter understood the dangers!), which functioned as the political "devil" or false accuser, having imprisoned many Christians (Revelation 2:10). These actions were carried out in the sight of God (a more accurate rendering of the phrase), but a measure of relief came with the rise of Constantine.

Surely you know your history?

Identifying the nature of the false accuser and adversary is the whole battle with this subject. If you are blind and cannot search out the matter ask those who have!

Paganism didn’t tempt the Messiah. The devil did.

Now you're shifting the goalposts, Matthias. You initially referred to the devil, then switched to Satan, and now you're back to devil again.

Which is it? Each word has it's own meaning and context.

Let me point something out to you, Matthias, since it's clear you hold a strong belief in this being. Where, during his ministry, does Jesus ever directly interact with it, or even teach his disciples about such a being?

I perceive you to be a thinker, someone who can critically examine the evidence and draw to truthful conclusions.

Let's see, shall we?

No. This thread is about the gospel which was taught and preached to both Jews and gentiles.

You initially referred to the devil, then switched to Satan, and now you're back to devil again.

That’s a blindspot of the Christadelphians.

Consult a Concordance.

Get behind me, Satan.

Get behind me, Satan.
You Lord defines the adversary for you, you know this right?

Mark 8:33 “But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, ‘Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.’”

If you consider yourself teachable, then what would you say is the adversary in this situation?

You often speak about others learning the Word, but are you willing to learn from the Messiah? He has already shown you the meaning of "Satan" in this context. The real question is: will you receive his teaching?

Something tells me you won’t.

It would be safer for you not to quote another devil or satan passage for fear of learning more!

Christadelphian arrogance and nonsense. You should start a thread on the subject in the “Christians Only” forums. They’ll teach you something that is vital for you to learn.

Hiddenthings,

Curious, why would this be considered wrong in your estimation?

Mat 4:8-10 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Why would this be considered amiss somehow, Jesus does it

Jesus says unto the devil in verse 8 Get thee hence, Satan: in verse 10 for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Shows they are the same here even

Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, (( which is)) the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

No. I responded to your arrogance and foolishness.
You don’t seem to appreciate being challenged, do you, Matthias? Despite all your years of study, this subject, simple as it is, still seems to have slipped past your understanding.

No, you were acting like Satan toward me because you avoided addressing the Lord’s teaching in Mark 8:33 and instead attacked the person.

That’s a clear ad hominem fallacy, one I’m surprised you resorted to so quickly.

I’ll leave you be for now, until next time.

My request is that @Hiddenthings responds to your question in a new thread and in a different forum.

I’ve dealt with the mixture of good and bad teachings within the Christadelphian movement for decades.

Matthias is clearly hurting. Truly, a wounded man can be a dangerous man! Feel free to start a thread, and I’ll gladly help with these passages.

Thats okay actually I was under the impression I was in agreement with him and helping him out, but I must have misunderstood.

I am fine, I really do not need help with the passages, I was just curious about how you thought about them as far as this back and forth was going.

You haven’t addressed anything, Matthias, and your credibility in this thread is suffering as a result.

My credibility is helped immensely by distancing myself from the Christadelphians.

@Hiddenthings has told you and his other readers things about Satan and myself which aren’t true.
