Actually, there are a couple of Threads on the forum that are trying to spiritualize Israel, and subvert Paul's entire teaching by claiming that the Gentile Church is become "Israel".
That is a stealthy attack on the Jew........its an anti-semetic false theology.
Also, Salvation is offered to Jew or Gentile by "faith"........in the "time of the Gentiles".
But in reality, both you and Spiritual Israelite are missing an important part of Bible history on that matter.
God split the old kingdom of Israel first in Solomon's day. Then He scattered the northern ten tribe "kingdom of Israel" first among the Gentiles (as He warned in Deut.4 & 28).
Later, when the "house of Judah" also fell away, He scattered the majority of them too among the Gentiles. Only a small remnant of the "house of Judah" returned to Jerusalem after their separate Babylon captivity. The larger body of Jews captive in Babylon stayed in Babylon, and then were scattered like the ten tribes were.
The majority of the ten scattered tribes to new lands became Christ's early Church, along with believing Gentiles, and a remnant of Judah scattered with them. Thus James' Message in James 1 to the 12 tribes scattered abroad, which was a Christian Message to those the Church in those new lands. Those new lands were Asia Minor and Europe.
The prophecies God gave through His prophet Hosea accounts for God having done this, using the 'seed' of scattered Israel to establish Christ's Church under The Gospel in new lands. And that is why Apostle Paul in Romans 9 quoted from the Book of Hosea to Roman Gentile Christians, when the Book of Hosea was specifically... written only to the ten tribe "house of Israel".
The reality is like what happened to Joseph when he was sold into Egypt. On a larger scale, that is what happened to the scattered ten lost tribes of Israel. Per Hosea, God said the ten tribes would lose their heritage and knowledge of being part of old Israel, forgetting God's feast days and sabbaths, and would become like Gentiles living among Gentiles.
Joseph didn't forget his heritage, but he did assume a certain level of Gentile culture during his time in Egypt, enough to where his other brethren didn't recognize him. God had also said in Hosea that Judah at that time was still faithful to Him, and that would not happen to the Jews of the "house of Judah", and so it was, the 3 tribe "house of Judah", the Jews, kept knowledge of God's feast days and sabbaths, and the law, etc., and continue to know their heritage as part of the seed of Israel, even as it still is to this day.
Thus God used the scattered ten lost tribes of Israel to help establish Christ's Church in Asia Minor and Europe, and the history of their being scattered to the west from Assyria can be documented:
