Hi there!

So this is just a short heads up, about how to get in agreement with the Holy Spirit, about dreams. The answer is really simple: ask for dreams about scripture. I know someone who asked for dreams about "letting your yes, be yes" and they had so many they couldn't remember them all - there was one about a snake, watching intently; another about waiting in a queue, not knowing when the end of the queue would come. I suppose a snake waits to see something it can say yes to, and waiting in a queue is about saying yes to patience. All in all, a very learning experience.

So! What are you going to dream? Ask for dreams about scripture and post the scripture and dream in this thread - it will be fascinating, to see all the different ways God can communicate scripture!

I asked God once if there was anything of value once in Wisdom of Sirach.

Keep in mind, Wisdom of Sirach is natural theology. Meaning, the Bible is written by inspiration coming from the Holy Spirit. Natural theology is based off of natural observation.

This is important. I was in extreme spiritual warfare and had deceiving dreams way too often.

Anyway, the next day I woke up knowing what the verse was. It always seems to be when I wake up that I know something, not sure why.

Sirach 34:1-8

Empty and false are the hopes of the senseless,
and dreams give wings to fools.
Like one grasping at shadows or chasing the wind,
so anyone who believes in dreams.

What is seen in dreams is a reflection,
the likeness of a face looking at itself.
How can the unclean produce what is clean?
How can the false produce what is true?

Divination, omens, and dreams are unreal;
what you already expect, the mind fantasizes.

Unless they are specially sent by the Most High,
do not fix your heart on them.
For dreams have led many astray,
and those who put their hope in them have perished.

Without such deceptions the Law will be fulfilled,
and in the mouth of the faithful is complete wisdom.

Saved me from a mental loop that left me with a lot of suffering.

Also, I should state I'm Anabaptist- and it is still included today even in the Amish Bibles. You can decide for yourself what's best.

And why wouldn't you instead ask God to help you discern on your own?

You're treating dreams as an oracle and a game.

This is dangerous. Don't do it anymore, or you are at risk of deception- and I mean that gently, not harshly, please don't take it as an attack.

I've had two or three dreams of this kind, Jesus was teaching me how to fly. He had hold of my ankles and flew below me and guided us and talked to me the whole flight. He taught me how to land on rooftops without disturbing the occupants of the house!

And after this series of dreams, I had more flying dreams, but I was a flying instructor to a class of 15-20? I told them to keep up and dont lose me. Then I tried to lose them, Lol. I like flying dreams they always make me feel good.

The reasoning behind this idea is absurb.

Ask God for a dream about his revealled word. Then having had a dream, work out was that dream from God or from some other sorce, then inturpret the dream.

A far simpler way is to ask God, as James suggests, for wisdom to understand the bible. To in addition to make use of the many commentaries written to explain the different books of the bible.
These commentaries were often written by men of far greater spiritual wisdom and experience than us, so why start re inventing the wheel, make use of what we already have.

Here's a suggestion. If you think these men were wrong, concider that it is far more likely that you have the wrong end of the stick!

God always has and still does speak through dreams and visions, dreams are not just something your mind conjures when your sleeping they are spiritual in nature.

It is not divination or anything of the sort to ask for dreams from God, but I have had plenty from the enemy as well and you can always tell the difference.
We are at our most vulnerable when sleeping and so it only makes sense that spiritual agents would influence and speak through them, knowing who it is from what the meaning is how to share it all requires discernment

You never have to question if a dream is from God because he makes it plain as day you also never have to question if something is from the enemy becauxse he also makes it plain as day. But dreams are only one way to have communication with God, honestly I rarely ever have dreams from God I work mainly in visions
