What about all the PTSD the News causes? Who cares about that? It just keeps invading our peace if we let it.
The remedy is to stop watching MSM news....and distance ourselves from what is taking place in a world ruled by the devil.....there is a reason and a purpose to it all, and for those who submit to God’s rulership, we have to have confidence in the fact that if God wanted to intervene at this point, he would. He does not need us to do anything, as the world is soon to experience the greatest tribulation in its history.....it is foretold and nothing we can do will stop it. (Matt 24:21, 13)
This isn’t just a call to avoid conflict. It’s a summons to intervene in it. To be a peacemaker is to step into the fray—not as a passive observer, but as a reconciler, a bridge-builder, a mirror of divine action.
Yes, we are told to be “peacemakers” not “peacekeepers”....do we know the difference?
A “peacemaker” does not need to step into the fray at all, but to be a quiet voice advocating the kind of peace that Jesus promoted. Think back to the political situation of Jesus’ day....the Jews were chafing under Roman rule, and Jesus was preaching in that environment when many were plotting a revolt. His people were oppressed and had no authority to do anything outside of the Roman rule of law, which is why they needed to bring Jesus before Pilate in order to have him executed.
Jesus was no part of that political situation, and did not advocate any interference in it, but concentrated on his mission of Faith and the inner peace it brought to individuals.
Today we associate the word “Peacekeeper” with the UN and its troops, actively enforcing “peace” with tanks and weapons....but is this peace genuine? Or is it merely trying to bring about the absence of war....what is their success rate? Wars and threats of wars still rage in spite of their efforts. Peace comes from the heart.
The peace that God will bring by means of his incoming Kingdom, will not simply be the absence of war, but will be because all the warmongers will be eliminated from existence, leaving only those who love God and who obey his “Prince of Peace”.
What It Means to Be a Peacemaker
• Active Reconciliation: The Greek word for peacemaker, eirēnopoios, implies someone who makes peace—not just someone who enjoys it. It’s about restoring broken relationships, whether between people or between humanity and God.
Who alone can bring about genuine peace to the earth and its inhabitants? Man has already proven that he does not have the ability to bring about, even the absence of war. The restoration of relationships between God and man will be achieved by God removing the ones who cause these problems, and who have no intention of relinquishing their power to anyone but themselves. Only then will genuine peace be achieved.
• Divine Kinship: Peacemakers are called “children of God” because they reflect God’s nature—God, who reconciles the world to Himself through Christ. To make peace is to echo that divine initiative.
Man cannot make peace unless he is willing to leave all things in the capable hands of a God who has it all under his control.....do we imagine that God is powerless and that he could not stop all the rot with a wave of his hand.....? He has a time schedule for everything, and soon now he will bring the whole rotten system crashing down, eliminating from existence all who resist the divine rulership of the Kingdom that he will establish in the hands of his precious son, whom he appointed as King. (Daniel 2:44; Daniel 7:13-14)
We must remain “no part of the world” (John 18:36) and leave everything to God as he brings to a finish the object lesson that he started in Eden....with a long term view of its success.
It’s been a long time coming, but remembering that this rebellion began with a spirit son of God, and that the rescue mission also involved a human son of God, the purpose of it all deals with the first sinner and all whom he has induced to follow him by deception...both in heaven and on earth.....it’s a big picture that most do not acknowledge....but this is what the Lord’s Prayer is all about.
This is the Kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for.....not that we are going to the Kingdom....but that the Kingdom is “coming” to us so that God’s will can finally “be done on earth as it is in heaven”.
