That is the literal definition of a commune: private property voluntarily liquidated, everything held in common, distribution strictly according to need, no one keeping surplus.

It wasn’t imposed by Roman law, true; it was imposed by the Holy Spirit and the apostles’ authority.
But it was 100 % communal living, exactly as written.

Early church history (Jerusalem community until ~AD 60) confirms: they really did live that way.
Calling it “voluntary sharing, not a commune” is just re-branding what the Bible itself describes as ἅπαντα κοινά — “all things common.”

So yes, the early church absolutely did live in a commune.

It was not by anyone's "authority"....it was due to the love of God shed abroad in their hearts via the Holy Spirit. They went from "house to house" when they gathered to meet with the Lord, so doesn't sound as though they were living in a commune.

The parable is about laying up treasures in heaven by investing the word of God in this world to produce a profit in heaven. Which, by example and in principle, is to be practiced in this world--just as the parable refers to earthly matters producing heavenly profits--not only personally, but more importantly for God...which the parable demonstrates.

If we practice that principle in this world, it is not for us, but for God. If we practice what benefits fairness and affordability (socialism) in this world, we're doing no service to God...as the parable demonstrates with the wicked and lazy servant.

So, as the parable shows, we each have a choice to make...and it is quite obvious what your choice is. But here I am still trying to help you make a better decision--that would be a "profit" for God.

I remember exactly the same conversations in the USSR during Khrushchev’s time.
Khrushchev is remembered not only for promising to “show the last priest on television,” but for the fact that in just a few years he effectively solved the “communal apartment problem.” He built millions of small, separate apartments all over the country. Yes, the kitchens and rooms were tiny, but for the first time people had their own private space, their own kitchen, bathroom, and toilet.

Then under Brezhnev they introduced the official housing norm — 7 square metres of living space per person (9 m² in some regions). Fall below that and you were legally recognised as needing better housing and put on the waiting list.

In the space of one generation there was a colossal leap in quality of life.
The previous generation had lived through World War I, the Civil War, famine, devastation, and then World War II.
The post-war generation saw none of that; they received their own separate apartments (formally state-owned, but they lived there as if they were theirs).

So the older generation asked exactly your question:
“We starved, we bled, we died, we endured suffering and deprivation. And now the next generation walks into everything ready-made and warm. Is that fair?”

The answer was: Yes, it is fair.
Their sacrifices were not in vain, as their children now live better lives.

That’s how my parents lived: they got married, spent a couple of years in a family dorm (standard for Soviet youth), got a one-room “malosemeyka” flat after the first child in 22. I was born when they were 27 and when they were 32 they received a three-room apartment. Yes — if parents had two children of different sexes, the norm gave them three rooms.
This was not an exception. This was not look, "Bill Gates made it why 99 % didn’t?” This was the ordinary situation for the overwhelming majority.
Result: TFR 2.2–2.5 in a fully industrial society. Stable replacement.

And now you ask:

But demography is not about individual success stories.

My friend (Ukrainian family) came to the U.S. legally in June 2024 under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) humanitarian parole program. Wife, husband, and their little kid – all arrived together through a regular airport, got their 2-year parole stamped (wife and child got 2 years, husband for some reason only 1 year – probably a CBP officer’s mistake or intentional, who knows).

Fast-forward to late 2025: the husband’s parole expired. He timely filed for re-parole (extension) about 6 months before expiration, just like everyone was told to do. Guess what? USCIS basically stopped processing Ukrainian re-paroles months ago. Zero movement, no approvals, 12–18+ month backlogs.

A few weeks after his parole expired he gets an NTA (Notice to Appear) in the mail – straight to immigration court for removal proceedings. Master hearing was scheduled, then another one, and eventually the judge basically said: “Your parole is over, you have no legal status → voluntary departure or deportation order.” They gave him 30 days to leave the country.

Here’s the kicker: literally days before the final deadline his wife found out she was pregnant with their second child. If they had managed to stay just a few more months, the baby would have been born here and become a U.S. citizen – that would have opened a clear path for the whole family to adjust status. Instead, they had to pack up and leave. They’re now in Florianópolis, Brazil. The new baby will be born Brazilian.

This is not a unique case. Thousands of U4U Ukrainians who arrived in 2023–2024 are hitting the exact same wall right now:

- Parole expires
- Re-parole applications are frozen
- NTA → immigration court → removal order
- Families torn apart, pregnant wives forced to leave, kids losing their shot at U.S. citizenship

The only “real” remaining option everyone talks about is asylum, but let’s be real about what that actually means in 2025–2026:

- Current backlog for asylum interviews and merits hearings: 5–8 years (many Ukrainians are already getting court dates in 2029–2032)
- Average cost of a decent immigration attorney: $8,000–$15,000 upfront + thousands more in “additional work” over the years
- Approval rates for Ukrainians have plummeted, especially for men of military age (judges are extremely skeptical right now)

So basically you pay $10k–$20k+ to stay in limbo for the better part of a decade with no guarantee of winning.

What did Ukrainians ever do to you in the U.S. to deserve this?​

The fact that the modern financial system is essentially a giant Ponzi scheme is obvious. Nobody is even seriously trying to hide it anymore. It’s just as obvious that this system will collapse in the foreseeable future.

Modern capitalism is a machine that only runs on constant growth. More people = more workers, more consumers, more tax revenue. GDP goes up, companies make money, debts get serviced, pensions get paid. But once fertility drops below the replacement level of 2.1, the growth stops. South Korea’s population is projected to fall from 51 million today to about 20 million by 2100; Europe from roughly 750 million to around 400 million. This isn’t a “soft decline” — it’s a collapse: every new generation will be 25–50 % smaller than the previous one.

For those of us alive right now, this means that in 20–30 years there simply won’t be enough working-age people. The economy will shrink, factories will shut down, tax revenues will plummet. And my pension? There won’t be one — there’ll be nobody left to pay it. Japan already has 28 % of its population over 65 and fewer and fewer young people; the system is creaking at the seams.

War (like what’s happening in Ukraine and Russia) only accelerates the drop: millions of young people die, birth rates crash even further. In 10–20 years we’ll see empty cities, shuttered hospitals, and weakened armies. Thanks to medicine, the elderly are living longer, but the young are becoming an endangered species.

By 2050 every third person in Europe will be over 65. Who’s going to feed and care for them? In South Korea in thirty years there will be two retirees for every single working person — that’s mathematically impossible to sustain.

Governments will either have to jack up taxes to insane levels (which will kill what’s left of the economy) or simply abandon the elderly. And that’s us — we’re the ones who will become those pensionless, uncared-for old people.

The scariest part?
Nobody is preparing. There is no plan, no alternative model. Countries throw money at the problem (South Korea has already spent $270 billion since 2006 on pro-natal policies), but fertility still doesn’t budge — cash can’t fix the lack of time, the stress, or the cultural shift.

We’re sliding toward a cliff, and we’re the generation that will feel it — not some distant descendants. In 20–30 years the current system will be dead, and nothing has been built to replace it.

Developed societies suffer from extreme short-term thinking: politicians care about the next election (4–5 years), corporations care about the next quarter, capitalism rarely looks beyond quarterly reports. Demography operates on a 20–50-year horizon, and nobody wants to deal with timeframes that long.
We’re in a dead end.
There is no alternative model, no contingency plan. In 20–30 years we’ll be asking, “Where’s my pension? Where’s my safety net?” — and there will be no answer.

I saw this report 16 years ago, the numbers have decreased, but the theory is not new. In the report fertility rates all over were declining; yet Islamic immigration corrected it ... and their fertility rate was 8.1. So the 2009 video simply stated that within 40 years or so, Europe would be dominated by Muslims. In the report fertility rates all over were decling; yet Islamic immigration corrected it ... and their fertility rate was 8.1. So the 2009 video simply stated that within 40 years or so, Europe would be dominated by Muslims. The parable is about laying up treasures in heaven by investing the word of God in this world to produce a profit in heaven. My friend (Ukrainian family) came to the U.S. legally in June 2024 under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) humanitarian parole program. Wife, husband, and their little kid – all arrived together through a regular airport, got their 2-year parole stamped (wife and child got 2 years, husband for some reason only 1 year – probably a CBP officer’s mistake or intentional, who knows).

Fast-forward to late 2025: the husband’s parole expired. He timely filed for re-parole (extension) about 6 months before expiration, just like everyone was told to do. Guess what? USCIS basically stopped processing Ukrainian re-paroles months ago. Zero movement, no approvals, 12–18+ month backlogs.

A few weeks after his parole expired he gets an NTA (Notice to Appear) in the mail – straight to immigration court for removal proceedings. Master hearing was scheduled, then another one, and eventually the judge basically said: “Your parole is over, you have no legal status → voluntary departure or deportation order.” They gave him 30 days to leave the country.

Here’s the kicker: literally days before the final deadline his wife found out she was pregnant with their second child. If they had managed to stay just a few more months, the baby would have been born here and become a U.S. citizen – that would have opened a clear path for the whole family to adjust status. Instead, they had to pack up and leave. They’re now in Florianópolis, Brazil. The new baby will be born Brazilian.

This is not a unique case. Thousands of U4U Ukrainians who arrived in 2023–2024 are hitting the exact same wall right now:

- Parole expires
- Re-parole applications are frozen
- NTA → immigration court → removal order
- Families torn apart, pregnant wives forced to leave, kids losing their shot at U.S. citizenship

The only “real” remaining option everyone talks about is asylum, but let’s be real about what that actually means in 2025–2026:

- Current backlog for asylum interviews and merits hearings: 5–8 years (many Ukrainians are already getting court dates in 2029–2032)
- Average cost of a decent immigration attorney: $8,000–$15,000 upfront + thousands more in “additional work” over the years
- Approval rates for Ukrainians have plummeted, especially for men of military age (judges are extremely skeptical right now)

So basically you pay $10k–$20k+ to stay in limbo for the better part of a decade with no guarantee of winning.

Sending a pregnant wife and a small child “home” right now would be reckless and dangerous. Brazil (along with Argentina, Uruguay, etc.) is one of the few countries still giving humanitarian residence to Ukrainians on the spot, plus immediate medical care and a path to citizenship for the newborn.

No – angry at the fact that the rules were changed mid-game. These people were invited here by the U.S. government under a program Biden created, arrived 100 % legally through regular airports, got fingerprinted, background-checked, and were told “welcome, you have up to two years.” Many were literally promised by DHS officials that re-parole would be available. Then a new administration came in, froze all extensions overnight, and started mass removal proceedings against exactly the people who followed every rule and left a paper trail. That’s why they’re easy to find and deport. The ones who crossed the Rio Grande with no documents and never checked in with ICE? A lot of them are still in USA, because they’re off the radar. Law-abiding people are the low-hanging fruit.

What we’re seeing now is the direct result of executive orders signed in the first weeks of Trump’s second term that explicitly targeted humanitarian parole programs for termination. That’s just a fact, not an opinion.
