If a voice , an angel , a donkey , any man , any god so called
SAYS something contrary , different to what GOD himself did say , WHICH darn sure
would not omit what the prophets did , AND ESPECIALLY WHAT THE SON said , WHO ya think is the liar .
A hint , THE ONE that contradicted the words OF THE HOLY GOD in that bible .
This could be a little confusing for those who read what is written in the bible.

Jos 6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.....all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

Joshua recorded, (bible) 'the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword'.

Josh 8 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land. You shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king.

THEN from the same Source, the Lord, written with His finger, said, 'Do not kill' kill - râtsach
A primitive root; properly to dash in pieces, that is, kill (a human being), especially to murder: - put to death, kill, (man-) slay (-er), murder (-er).

And 40 years later that's what God told Joshua to do. Dash in pieces with the sword, men, women and children.

There are two great arks my friend .
ONE IS OF CHRIST
the other of the well favored harlot and her ecumenical cry for unity of intefaith .
The great titanic of this well favored harlot is GOING down on the DAY of THE LORD .
But unto the sheep inside the ark of Christ t hey shall be kept sa fe .
And we cannot be on BOTH arks . ITS ONE or the OTHER . CHOOSE YE THIS day
but as for me ITS JESUS . not the well favored harlot and her mighty ship .
And it's a comfort to know that we have been chosen to enter Christ not with a righteousness of our own but that of Christ.

And the being in Him we sit at Father's right where we interact with both Jesus and His Father, our Father.

And now us sheep in Christ can get God's words directly from Him Who never stops speaking to His sheep.

That's really none of my business what your Father and Jesus says to you and how They choose to communicate with you. Be it directly, orally or in writing. I'm certainly not going to tell Them how They can or can't communicate with me. I'm not fussy. Any words from Them to me and for me is welcomed.

Tell that to Joshua.

Bible records....

Josh 6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.....all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

THEN from the same Source, the Lord, written with His finger (recorded in the same bible), said, 'Do not kill' kill - râtsach
A primitive root; properly to dash in pieces, that is, kill (a human being), especially to murder: - put to death, kill, (man-) slay (-er), murder (-er).

And 40 years later that's what God told Joshua to do. Dash in pieces with the sword, men, women and children.

Any contradiction here between what was WRITTEN and what was SPOKEN by the same Person and recorded in the same bible? I'll let you answer that one.

Bibliolatry: Worship/knowledge of the book MORE than the author

I have encountered some that I thought had fallen into this trap.

I asked them, "What would become of your faith if you put your whole library out on the curb on trash day?"
The guilty are left mostly speechless. Or, alternatively VERY angry. How come?

To be clear, I love the Bible and use it every day. But I know the difference between the book and the author.
In my experience, my relationship with the author is much more important than my relationship with the book.
Appropriate scriptures come to my mind all day long. Due to the work of the Spirit to quicken these things to my memory.

The Bible is not omniscient. (all knowing)
The Bible is not omnipresent. (everywhere present)
The Bible is not omnipotent. (all powerful)

The Bible does NOT love me.
It's paper and ink, maybe a leather cover. (or digital info)
That cow didn't die to pay my sin debt.

A true Bibliolator will demand chapter and verse to support my premise. - LOL

The bottom line:
Let's use the Bible to grow closer to God and each other, rather than as a weapon to destroy each other.

John 13:35 NIV
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

The Bible is God's print ordained means by which He reveals Himself to man. And you underestimate its power.
Allow me to say again...

"To be clear, I love the Bible and use it every day. But I know the difference between the book and the author.

Furthermore, no one in the Hebrews 11 Faith chapter had a Bible.

All too often the Bible has become a replacement for a personal relationship with God.
Instead of talking directly with God, believers reach for a book.

The Bible is God's print ordained means by which He reveals Himself to man.
Is it though?
Considering how the book came to exist, I question that it is somehow God-ordained.

There are several canons of scripture. Which is REALLY God-ordained?
If the others aren't God-ordained, why did God allow them?

And which English translation is God-ordained?
If the others aren't God-ordained, why did God allow them?

Steven, the showbread in the old testament sanctuary, was a metaphor for the word of God. As also was the manna in the wilderness. In John 6 (read the entire chapter) Jesus said He was the living Bread of Life, and we were to eat Him daily. Metaphorically of course. He said in His prayer to His Father, on behalf of His disciples throughout all ages, "sanctify them through Thy truth, Thy word is truth". As I said, you underestimate the power of God's word. It has creative power, same as when...
“6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. ”
Psalms 33:6-9 KJV
The Bible is God's word for recreating the human mind and spirit in the wake of all that was lost through the fall. It is God's designated vehicle through which change in character, motivation, understanding is activated. As i said, it seems you underestimate its power.
Rather than doubt it's authenticity and purpose, you ought to be praising God for His power to preserve.

Example. When the Bread of Life spoke to the fig tree, what happened? When He spoke to those He was redeeming, what happened? God uses His word to speak to us.

“1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. 5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. 6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. ”
Isaiah 55:1-13 KJV

The main role of the Word of God is to feed us spiritually to keep us alive. The Israelites learned this important spiritual lesson when they experienced physical hunger in the wilderness. Moses’ interpretation of God’s miracle of the manna reflects this notion: “ ‘That He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord’ ” (Deut. 8:3, NKJV). Jesus was famished in the wilderness when He uttered this principle to the devil (Matt. 4:4). We hear this same idea in Peter’s epistle in which he compares the Word of God to the milk that feeds and nourishes hungry newborn babes: “That you may grow thereby” (1 Pet. 2:2, NKJV; compare with Heb. 5:13). These biblical examples make us aware of an important condition that we must have in order to partake of spiritual nourishment from the Word of God. We must come to the Word with an awareness of our need. We must come hungering and thirsting; otherwise, we will not appreciate the vital necessity of spiritual sustenance. Nor will we likely enjoy it or profit from it.

Prior to the Bible as we know it, God spoke in times past through His prophets. That was the Word of God.
In these last days He has spoken to us through His Son. The spoken word again.

The Bible is helpful in what you are saying. However we have become dependent on the book at the expense of knowing the author. IMHO

The word going forth out of the mouth of God. Not a book.

Here again, every word from the mouth of the Lord.
Began at the mouth of the Lord... thus saith the Lord... spoken again by the prophets... and written for our admonition. The word doesn't lose it's power through being repeated, nor written.
Do God's commandments lose their authority because they were written on stone after having been spoken?

“1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. ”
Habakkuk 2:1-3 KJV

Man's finite mind cannot understand an infinite God and God ordained His writings through prophets and Apostles, so we can read about our infinite God and worship Him correctly. Ephesians 3:8 and Psalm 12:6-7. God's word is alive and active, Hebrews 4:12

Do God's commandments lose their authority because they were written on stone after having been spoken?
Bad example.

The TCs, which were engraved in letters on stone, was the transitory ministry that brought condemnation and death.
The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

2 Corinthians 3:6-8 NIV
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—
not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone,
\came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses
because of its glory, transitory though it was,
8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
