Or someone familiar with history.Only a person with YOUR anti-Catholic views would make such a ridiculous, paranoid claim . . .
And again, you are twisting what I was actually saying. I know you are against OSAS for Christians, including Catholics. But you change your opinion when the discussion turns to the church in general. All of a sudden, your church is OSAS, while every other church is subject to heresy and falling away. Not only do I NOT believe in OSAS for Catholics – I told you in our last exchange that I don’t.
This is a classic example of how your SDA sect teaches you to LIE about the Catholic Church . . .
@Adventageous has given a sufficiently complete response to your theory. I will add nothing but a reiteration of my original statement. The Catholic tradition absolutely supercedes Scripture, specifically the 4th commandment of the decalogue. With no authority to do so. And we all know what Jesus said about traditions contradicting God's commandments. How does this “supersede” Scripture, when the Scriptures themselves tell us that the death and resurrection of Christ was the fulfillment of the Sabbath and all of the other shadows that point to Him (Col. 2:16-17).
And the NT informs us that the Ealy Church gathered oin Sundays (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 16:1-2) because it was on that day that the Lord was resurrected.
