Stevie, why don't you tell us what parts of the Bible you think are God's written Word? That shouldn't take long.

In a previous topic I asked a question about...

Here are the facts:
1) Those in Samaria were believers (had accepted the word of God)
2) They had received baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. (water baptism)
3) But the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them. (had not yet "come on" any of them?)
4) Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. (prayed for them)

Why hadn't the baptized believers in Samaria received the Holy Spirit?
They were water baptized believers in the Lord Jesus.

- There was evidence that they were believers. (as stated in the text)
- There was evidence that they had been water baptized. (as stated in the text)
- There was, however, no evidence that they had received the Holy Spirit. (as stated in the text)

What evidence were the Apostles looking for?
"Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit." - Acts 8:17 NIV
("When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit," - vs 15)
This text doesn't tell us. We'll have to look elsewhere.

Let me restate...
I do not question whether the believers in Samaria had received the "indwelling" Spirit when they believed.
They were missing something else. That something else is the Baptism with the Holy Spirit. (the Spirit "on" them)

[
Why don't you tell us which Books of the Bible you believe are God's written Word? That shouldn't take a minute or two or less. Are there any???

"water baptism in the name of Jesus" is symbolic.
It can't save you.

Its not the same as understanding the Gospel, placing faith in Christ, and being born again Spiritually.

An example is a Catholic.
Most Catholics will tell you that "the water washed away their sin"., because they have no idea what the blood of Jesus is all about.. they only understand that : "well, i was water baptized, im confirmed into the "church"... so im saved".

God's "Gift of Salvation"", on the other hand, has no basis in WATER..........as its only attained as a Gift given by God through faith in Christ, while you are alive and can be saved and born again.

Also, if we look at Peter in Acts 2.....or if we look at Jesus right after His water baptism......we see that God gave them a baptism that empowered them for ministry. Its an enabling by the Holy Spirit to perform a ministry or several.
This is a spiritual baptism that is ON the person as a powerful anointing.

In the OT, when we read """and the word of God came to "" whatever prophet, then that was the anointing, the spiritual baptism, that was ON them, that enableed them (anointed them) for ministry.

and WHO does THIS ONE HOLY SPIRIT TESTIFY OF
JESUS THE CHRIST . And whose words would he bring to remembrance
THE VERY WORDS OF JESUS .
Let us keep that in mind when any , whether man , woman , child , donkey or angel , even thought
comes along
and tries to imply that there are good people in all religoins who are serving the same GOD the t rue christains do .
IMPOSSIBLE .
JESUS told those who beleived not on HIM ,
HAD you beleived moses you would have BELEIVED ME . so yes the muslims might claim to
BUT L IES .
JESUs said to those who believed not , YOU DO NOT HAVE THE LOVE OF GOD IN YOU .
So then how do these other religions have the love of GOD in them , WHEN THEY DENY CHRIST JESUS
and at most follow another jesus .
JESUS said IF YE LOVED ME you would KEEP my sayings .
And now a word of reminder by which to again stir us up ,
BUT WE HAVE ONE FATHER , GOD . so take note they DID CLIAM to BELEIVE ON GOD
and yet DID NOT BELEIVE ON JESUS .
And what did and who did JESUS say was their fa ther . THE DEVIL . so i highly suggest
yet ag ain , that we get anyone out of ecumeincal intefaith and fast .
and lastly one more reminder
IF even cornelious who did many good works , many prayers and alms
HAD to hear and b eleive the gospel TO be saved , WELL THEN how can anyone else save themselves .
WITH MAN IT IS IMPOSSIBLE , BUT NOT with GOD . And GOD has chosen HOW to save the world .
BY the preaching of the gospel to save those who ......................BELEIVE .
And one more thing
I challenge anyone to show me any of these so called g ood people who walk this earth .
CAUSE the last time i checked T HERE IS NONE WHO IS GOOD BUT GOD . all fall short .

"How can they hear unless they are shown".

Salvation requires the Gospel being heard and believed, and that is not......>"repent and get in the water".

Its no different right now..........where you find people on this forum who will fight you all with their theology that says....>"if you repent and are water baptized you are saved".
And you are absolutely not saved that way...yet they believe it.

Here are the facts:

Let me show you a fact.

Unless a person has the Holy Spirit in them, they are "none of God's" Paul teaches.
This means if you die never born again, you do not have the Holy Spirit in you, and you will not go to Heaven.

See, having the Holy Spirit in you, is a REQUIREMENT, as this proves you are born again.
THe Holy. Spirit is not given after you die......so you keep that in mind as you keep lying to the forum members with your Satanic Gospel os "UNIVERSALISM".

So, looking at a verse that says that someone is receiving the Holy Sprirt proves they didnt have it......which proves they are not a Christian, yet......They are not born again yet., even if they are "baptized in water, in the name of Jesus, 345 times, last week.

Why hadn't the new believers in Samaria received the Holy Spirit?
They had not been baptized in JESUS name .
But also take notice
of the beleivers in the house of cornelious
THEY did recieve the SPIRIT , then it was peter who said
is there water here that these may also be baptized .
Oh we should all be water baptized
for as the early church did so should we .
However many a dry sinner has went down into that water
only to come up a wet one . The water did not save those now did it .
THE POWER cometh FROM GOD and is g iven unto THOSE WHOSE FAITH BE IN CHRIST .
And of course water baptism should be done.
But many a man and many a woman have done something which ought never to have been done .
THEY came to the wrong jesus padnah . That one cannot save them .
Get every man and woman and child out of and far away from anything tied to ecuemencalism
before it forever swallows them down to the pits of hades .
Let us return to the scriptures .
FOR MANY are in love with a jesus that preached deconstruction
AND THAT ONE AINT SAVING ANYONE . BIBILE TIME steve . Hurry now and begin afresh and anew
in those pages .

Behold will you also please show that man what occured in the house of cornelious
THE SPIRIT came upon them and they spoke with tongues
THEN PETER said lets water baptize them .
The RCC is tanked . ecumencialism IS OF HER
and is now all over the protestant realm .
Her inclusive ways will lead this people , NOT to the promised land of their peace n safety utopia
But to the fiery lake that burns . Every Day i watch JESUS get more and more denied
by those who remain in such places . And every day i s hudder for their souls on the DAY OF Judgment .

The Samaritans were believers. That's why they were eligible for water baptism.
Here's what the Apostles did in order for them to receive the Holy Spirit. (manifestation)

Acts 8:17 NIV
Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit which occurs at salvation
