The Scripture/Holy Spirit makes a clear distinction between God and god in this passage.
Remove the caps from God and you can still SEE the distinction.

Who is blinding in this verse?

2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

JESUS absolutely acknowledged Satan as "the god of this age"

I don't see that in scripture. The God of this Aion is God. satan is the ruler of this kosmos, but I would never call him the god of it because the bible does not.

AWESOME and Good Morning here from NJ
FRESH Organic coffee now being served, if you are in the area

Big 'Thank You' for this verse = it pertains to the Jewish people whom God chose to reveal Himself to!!!

Satan took over as the "god of the world" when he deceived the woman/Eve and thru her he took down Adam and all of mankind.

Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’
and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

I do not believe the verse is speaking about Satan being the God of this world. Satan is called the Prince of the world (not a God and not a King) but not the God of it. Certainly much of the world worships Satan in one form or another but in order to know whom is being spoken of we simply have to use the context:

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

‘The god of this world has blinded people to the Gospel.

Satan is the god of this world.

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
1 John 5:19

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:16

Some will say it's a little "g" on god so that means its not God. Not so. There are no capitals vs. small letters in the manuscripts. The small g is purely the translators opinion.

So who was it that "blinded the minds of them which believe not"?

It was God.

John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

The HE here is God and this is very similar language. God blinded them so they could not convert and be healed! Isn't that what the other verse is saying?

Romans 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear) unto this day.

God does the blinding!

While Satan can be considered a false god of this world, he simply isn't the one being spoken of because it is God which blinds so people cannot convert to Christ and be healed.
There are no capitals in the manuscripts.

Gen_24:3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

Isa_54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Revelation 11:4 these are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the god of the earth.

Is this Satan because it is believed that saying "god of something" rather than just "god" means that it isn't the one true God? If Satan is the supposed "god of this world" then he must also be the "god of the earth" right?

Remember, there are no capitals in the manuscripts. god and God are spelled exactly the same way so we can't go by that. Naturally, context matters. Naturally, using other scriptures to help us understand scriptures matter. Forget tradition, forget what has been assumed for generations and look without assumption at all the evidence and decide who is doing the blinding in the world.
That is right ... there is only one God, so why after emphasizing that over and over throughout the Bible would He say Satan is a god? Satan is the fallen angel, Lucifer.
People would mistakingly assign this title to Satan because the "world system" is evil and fallen, but God is still in charge. Satan will have the reigns 3.5 years during the GT, when the Church is gone and along with the Restrainer ( Holy Spirit).

The FATHER is not "behind" JESUS/the WORD that was God

Believe the WORD/TRUTH and it will set you Free

John 10:30 = “I and the Father are One.”

John 5:23 = so that all people will honor the Son just as/same as they honor the Father.
Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

Same Honor to the Father as to the Son
They are one in purpose= Living now to do the Fathers will, the true followers become one with them by living now to do Jesus' Father's will just as Jesus does.) Matt 7:21)
Yes honor the son by learning, applying and obeying his teachings.

JESUS absolutely acknowledged Satan as "the god of this age"

Thus why the LORD commanded us to not have any "gods" before HIM.

@ewq1938
LORD is Jehovah in OT. The one being shunned by all using altered translations in false religion who point all to Jesus, yet Jesus points all to his Father. Thus so does his religion. One must go through Jesus to get to the Father. Not stop at Jesus. ALL true followers hearts who obey Jesus, their hearts instruct their minds to do this( John 4:22-24) 24/7-365--The mislead stop at Jesus.

Satan will have the reigns 3.5 years during the GT, when the Church is gone and along with the Restrainer ( Holy Spirit).
man-made fantasy that is antichrist

Satan is ruling now = "god of this world" = "We know that the whole world lies under the control of the wicked one"

The kingdoms of this world are governed by Satan.
They will not be relinquished until the 2nd Coming of Christ, which is AFTER the GT = Matt 24:29-31 & Rev 11:15

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying;
“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

pre-fib rapture came out of the ignorance of man's evil heart, which many continue to follow.............run to Matt 4:4

In plain English.....”G4416 prototokos”....not a word exclusively describing Jesus’ human birth....it means the “firstborn” of any creation...man, beast or God.
Any creation? Man, beast or God?

God was not created.

So, you are correct....only the Creator is ‘uncreated’....but Jesus identified himself in Rev 3:14 as “the faithful and true witness” and says that he is “the beginning of God’s creation”.

I believe him....

Elohim is NEVER plural for the true living God in the Hebrew language. Deceivers say it is.

Hello Aunty,
What I see when reading this verse is that Christ was the source or the ruling power OF creation in the beginning of the created world.

1 John 1-3
"1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

Many of the mislead believe more than 1 created because of Gen 1:26. But in the very next verse it is 100% clear-an individual( HE, not US created, backed at Prov 8:27-28_ HE created, not we or us. As well Isaiah 44:26-- By myself( individual) i created. So seeing these bible facts what does the us mean at Gen 1:26? US = Jehovah( creator architect) and his master worker( Prov 8:30= the one who was beside God during the creation. All know Jesus is the one who was beside God during the creation= builder, not creator. Prov 8:22 to end is Jesus speaking. Giving God 100% credit for creating.
By him at John 1:3=error--through him = correct. Colossians 1:15-16 says through him. Your translation is altered to mislead.

In plain English.....”G4416 prototokos”....not a word exclusively describing Jesus’ human birth....it means the “firstborn” of any creation...man, beast or God.
  1. “the firstborn
    1. of man or beast
    2. of Christ, the first born of all creation”
Again if Christ is the “firstborn of ALL creation” (Col 1:15) then he had to exist before “ALL creation”...he is “the beginning of God’s creation” as Revelation 3:14 plainly states.....
Quoting Jesus’ own words.....he is “the faithful and true witness”....
“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation.” (ESV)

Like I said...are you arguing with your own Scripture.....that is not from the NWT.

You’ve lost the argument....his “only begotten” status applied from his own creation. He was a unique “son” in that he was “the firstborn of ALL creation”....he is the only direct creation of his God and Father. All other creation came “through” the Son.

Yes....”the Word became flesh” because the Word was “with” the Father, and was “sent” by him to die a death that God could not. The Father is immortal and cannot die....Jesus had to be the exact equivalent of Adam to redeem his children.....the price was set in Eden.....he did not need to be God to provide the ransom price that justice demanded....all he needed to be was sinless, hence he had to come from outside the now flawed human race.

There is no logic in your posts.....
Watchtower logic is flawed, Jane. Consider this-
Col 1:15 He is the image of God, the firstborn of all creation. (RSV)
JWs cite that verse as your proof that Jesus was the first angel created, known as Michael. Nowhere do the scriptures teach that.

The word firstborn is often used in scripture to show priority in importance or rank.
Psalm 89:27--And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
Speaking about David- he was the last-born son of Jesse- as far away as he could be from being born first..
Clearly, it means that God elevated David's rank to the preeminent position- head of the others.
Now, let's look at
the context of Col 1:15-- See verse 18? It identifies Christ as "the head" and "the firstborn", "the beginning"
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
What does Paul say is the purpose? So that He is preeminent in everything.

In order to ignore that truth- The JW bible has inserted the word OTHER 4 TIMES in Colossians 1 to make it sound as if Paul was saying that Michael was first created who then created all OTHER things who then became Jesus.

The bible teaches that the Word who became flesh was created by no one- and all things were created through the Word of God. "Let there be light." God spoke all things into existence through His Word.
The Greek does not say all OTHER things were created-- not even once let alone the 4 blatant insertions of the Watchtower Society.
Colossians is speaking to the preeminent rank of the Lord Jesus- certainly not about Him being a creature who all OTHER things were created through. That is called adding to scripture and it is not wise at all!

Now we will look at your other verse- Rev 3:14
NKJV
“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

NASB
“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Origin of the creation of God, says this:

That verse is not teaching that Jesus was the first angel created as Michael. Be careful. Jesus is the beginning
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
God the Father speaking in Rev 21:6 and 22:13- He calls Himself the beginning. The beginning does not mean God was created, does it?
The Greek word is arche-
Lexicon- Beginning, origin, ruler, authority, principality

Vines says- beginning, power, ruler, magistrate

At Luke 21:11 the Jw bible translated the same word, arche- as government officials. It is the root of archbishop, architect and others referring to someone who is chief over others. Therefore, the NIV and NASB translated that verse- as orgin or ruler which is perfectly correct. There is no basis to think otherwise.

I think that all you have left now is Proverbs 8- It is quite clear that God did not need to create wisdom. He clearly has always been wise.
Possessed is far more likely. God has always possessed wisdom.
qanah: To acquire, to buy, to possess, to create

I am not of the mind that you will read and accept what I am showing you. I hope you are not still shunning me since I have not done anything to warrant such a harsh treatment other than disagree with the Watchtower. We should all deeply examine all things by the Spirit- man is wrong quite often as you know. Not being allowed to question GB teachings is not biblical and very dangerous.
I know that in your mind-- Michael = Jesus and was first created angel. I know how engrained that teaching is in your mind. I get it- having been taught that since I was a child.

That, however- does not make it truth. Pray about this, Jane. Pray and don't stop asking for truth to be revealed to you. . Lay aside all that you so proudly think you know, and ask God to give you His Spirit to teach you.
Jesus' blood cleanses our sins. NO one will not be
resurrected sinless because they died. We must belong to Christ- be born again- Anyone teaching such a falsehood that physical death clears sins so you are resurrected without sin- can not be trusted to teach much. There is ONLY one payment for sins that warrants life- that is Jesus' payment. Not yours. You can't afford to pay such a debt to be sinless not even with your death. Death is what is deserved and is earned by sin. People whose sins are not washed away in Christ's blood are paid wages of sin which is death. They have earned death. Only Jesus' blood gives life. You must be born again.

Hi AJ,

Firstborn refers to ruler, not the first created. Jesus is ruler over all creation. Before being born of Mary, Jesus was the Word. "3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made." How could He create Himself?

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

David was the youngest of many brothers but in Psalms 89 he is called "firstborn."

And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

19 Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one,
And said: “I have given help to one who is mighty;
I have exalted one chosen from the people.
20 I have found My servant David;
With My holy oil I have anointed him,
21 With whom My hand shall be established;
Also My arm shall strengthen him.
22 The enemy shall not outwit him,
Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 I will beat down his foes before his face,
And plague those who hate him.

24 “But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him,
And in My name his horn shall be exalted.
25 Also I will set his hand over the sea,
And his right hand over the rivers.
26 He shall cry to Me, ‘You are my Father,
My God, and the rock of my salvation.’
27 Also I will make him My firstborn,
The highest of the kings of the earth.

28 My mercy I will keep for him forever,
And My covenant shall stand firm with him.
29 His seed also I will make to endure forever,
And his throne as the days of heaven.

30 “If his sons forsake My law
And do not walk in My judgments,
31 If they break My statutes
And do not keep My commandments,
32 Then I will punish their transgression with the rod,
And their iniquity with stripes.
33 Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him,
Nor allow My faithfulness to fail.
34 My covenant I will not break,
Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.
35 Once I have sworn by My holiness;
I will not lie to David:
36 His seed shall endure forever,
And his throne as the sun before Me;
37 It shall be established forever like the moon,
Even like the faithful witness in the sky.” Selah

It’s amazing how many miss the “through” and accept the “by”....

Yes the architect always gets the credit first...not the builder. Yahweh is the great Architect...his son was his “master worker”....it’s all there in the Scriptures but satan can make the truth look like a lie.
