You are not grasping what is actually being said!
Once again, as with all who are duped by church-ianity, you are unknowingly misapplying the word "soul" to the reason of HOW one BECAME a [mortal] living soul.
Furthermore, many often confuse the word "image" in KJV Gen. 1:27, 9:6 as meaning the exact image of God, of what He Himself looks like! Absolutely NOT!!
The truthful meaning is the word "idol", which is God meaning that the imagination of His Thoughts, of what Adam/should be like, is what God created physically from His own Thoughts of His Own imagination.
We do the same thing all the time!! It is in that likeness that we are like God!!
We also can CREATE things through our own thoughts of our IMAGINATION.

“Oxygen”, is one of the “numerous” elements of Gods Creations…
The body’s is a creation…a VESSEL that holds a LiFE within The Vessel /Body.
The Life of that Vessel / Body is Blood.
The body, (of a mans SEED) … takes approx 9 months, delicately being Formed By the Hand of God.
Once the Body (Vessel) IS FORM-ED…
It is Delivered forth and severed from its host…of nourishment / and waste (the Placenta)
”AND” <—-> conjunction <—> SOMETHING Immediately Occurs…
Gods intervention…of WHAT?
Makes the Body’s Blood (life) Flow? No.
God MAKES WHAT?

The Eyes….SEE
The Nose…SMELL

The Flesh…..FEEL TOUCH

Honestly, that is an enormous amount of human wisdom to describe how it is that both man and animals were given by God an Eternal, Immortal soul.
Did you know that the author Moses never attended any classes about Biology or Chemistry, and therefore could only speak from the level of his limitations of intellect, of how he thought "a living soul" came to be.
But, if he knew what gases God created, that make up the AIR of the atmosphere, I'm sure he would have done a better job than he did in explaining it, instead of just saying "the breath of life".

A man was given a body…
That MUST Die.
That same man was given a soul…
That CAN be Saved and remain Alive forever;
OR
God removed His Breath of Life FROM that soul….and Destroy that lifeless body and lifeless soul…and the Memory of that lifeless destroyed body and soul… Forgotten.
God forwarns… men are given KNOWLEDGE “ little by little”…and the “Understanding of the Knowledge”… (if one is patient)…comes After the Knowledge…
And “Knowledge” NOT given (from) God, remains His to keep secret…
And… one day ALL shall be revealed.
Same method upright men teach their own children, little by little…understanding later…

Forever I am telling Christians (who are born again) that they should read, study, discern and digest all of KJV 1 Cor. ch. 2.
Please understand that the human mind of "the natural man" coexists along side the mind of Christ within every born again Christian. It often times gets in the way for interpreting scripture. The results is "human wisdom" is imparting knowledge to the saved person instead of the mind of Christ imparting His "hidden wisdom" by His Spirit (mind).
Of course, for all who ARE NOT born again, it's hopeless that they can learn anything from Christ. His Holy Spirit does not dwell within them. The best that THEY can ever do is repititious mantras of creeds, church doctrines and vain traditions of men.

Are you saying that the study of God's creation of atmospheric gases (Chemistry) and the study of how God created our blood and internal organs (Biology) is a consequence and not a benefit?

I have a challenge for you.
The symbolic 144,000 were God's faithful believers out of the nation of Israel, who lived life while under the Old Covenant, before Jesus first appeared.
These are they who were to be remembered by God, their names being written in "the book of Remembrance". Malachi 3:16-18.
We can see the "many" in Rev. 6:9-11 receiving the Gift of the Holy Spirit (white robes) upon the Death and resurrection of Christ in Mat. 27:50-54.
All should recall that the Holy Spirit had NOT YET been permanently given to anyone of the OC until AFTER Christ's death and resurrection. John 7:38-39.
