I do not believe the verse is speaking about Satan being the God of this world. Satan is called the Prince of the world (not a God and not a King) but not the God of it. Certainly much of the world worships Satan in one form or another but in order to know whom is being spoken of we simply have to use the context:

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Some will say it's a little "g" on god so that means its not God. Not so. There are no capitals vs. small letters in the manuscripts. The small g is purely the translators opinion.

So who was it that "blinded the minds of them which believe not"?

It was God.

John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

The HE here is God and this is very similar language. God blinded them so they could not convert and be healed! Isn't that what the other verse is saying?

Romans 11:7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear) unto this day.

God does the blinding!

While Satan can be considered a false god of this world, he simply isn't the one being spoken of because it is God which blinds so people cannot convert to Christ and be healed.
There are no capitals in the manuscripts.

Gen_24:3 And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

Isa_54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Revelation 11:4 these are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the god of the earth.

Is this Satan because it is believed that saying "god of something" rather than just "god" means that it isn't the one true God? If Satan is the supposed "god of this world" then he must also be the "god of the earth" right?

Remember, there are no capitals in the manuscripts. god and God are spelled exactly the same way so we can't go by that. Naturally, context matters. Naturally, using other scriptures to help us understand scriptures matter. Forget tradition, forget what has been assumed for generations and look without assumption at all the evidence and decide who is doing the blinding in the world.
Yes God does blind eyes and hearts! So that some will not believe.
God also opens eyes and makes ears to hear, so that they do.
Why do you suppose Jesus often said

  1. Matthew 11:15
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

  2. Matthew 13:9
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

  3. Matthew 13:43
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

  4. Matthew 18:17
And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church; but if he neglect to hear the church, let himbe unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.

  5. Mark 4:9
And He said unto them, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

  6. Mark 4:23
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”

  7. Mark 7:16
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”

  8. Luke 8:8
And other fell on good ground, and sprang up and bore fruit a hundredfold.” And when He had said these things, He cried, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear!”

  9. Luke 14:35
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

Because God is the One who gives understanding and and knowledge about Himself and Christ by revelation, from His Spirit to our spirit about the things of God. That is true spiritual knowledge, versus the outsiders who are caught up in the lie of the world.

However, I believe Satan and God both blind men for differing reasons...
This truth is shown in both the old and new testament.

The below fully support God's purposes and will in His revelation of himself to individuals for those whom He has chosen.

Paul, an apostle (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead),

2 and all the brethren who are with me, Unto the churches of Galatia:

3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father,

5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him, that called you into the grace of Christ, for another gospel.

7 For this is not another; but there are some who trouble you and would pervert the Gospel of Christ.

8 But should we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again: If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that which ye have received, let him be accursed!

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet sought to please men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11 But I certify to you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached by me is not according to man;

12 for I neither received it from man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

13 For ye have heard of my participation in times past in the Jews’ religion, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and wasted it.

14 I profited in the Jews’ religion beyond many of my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace,

16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen, I conferred not immediately with flesh and blood,

17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went into Arabia and returned again unto Damascus.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

19 But I saw none of the other apostles save James, the Lord’s brother.

These are the words of the covenant which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.

2 Now Moses called all Israel and said to them: “You have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land— 3 the great trials which your eyes have seen, the signs, and those great wonders.

4 Yet the Lord has not given you a heart to [a]perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this very day.

5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. 6 You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or similar drink, that you may know that I am the Lord your God. 7 And when you came to this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we conquered them. 8 We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh. 9 Therefore keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.

No, he rules the world but God is the God of it.

Rev_11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth

v38 helps give context!
It is God's authority to reveal or not to a man the things of God.
No one comes to the Father but by Him

John 12

34 The people answered Him, “We have heard from the law that Christ abideth for ever; and how sayest thou, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this son of man?”

35 Then Jesus said unto them, “Yet a little while is the Light with you. Walk while ye have the Light, lest darkness come upon you; for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have Light, believe in the Light, that ye may be the children of Light.” These things spoke Jesus, and departed and hid Himself from them.

37 But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not in Him,

38 that the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

39 Therefore they could not believe, because as Isaiah said again:

40 “He hath blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”

41 These things said Isaiah when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

42 Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also, many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue;

43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

44 Jesus cried out and said, “He that believeth in Me, believeth not in Me, but in Him that sent Me.

45 And he that seeth Me, seeth Him that sent Me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth in Me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear My words and believe not, I judge him not; for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth Me and receiveth not My words, hath One that judgeth him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the Last Day.

49 For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father who sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.

50 And I know that His commandment is life everlasting. Whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.”

v5 also points out Christ is over all, He is the Preeminence. the very image of God; so that like He said, when you see Him, you have seen God.
LSB
whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

I speak the truth in Christ — I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost—

2 that I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh,

4 who are Israelites and to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

5 of whom are the fathers, and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

6 It is not as though the Word of God hath taken no effect. For they are not all Israel, who are of Israel;

7 neither because they are the seed of Abraham are they all children; but, “In Isaac shall thy seed be called.”

8 That is, they who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; rather, the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

9 For this is the word of promise: “At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.”

10 And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac

11 (for the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, in order that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not by works, but by Him that calleth),

12 it was said unto her, “The elder shall serve the younger.”

13 As it is written: “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid!

15 For He saith to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God who showeth mercy.

17 For the Scripture saith unto Pharaoh, “Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show My power in thee, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth.”

18 Therefore hath He mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will, He hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, “Why doth He yet find fault, for who hath resisted His will?”

20 But nay, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, “Why hast thou made me thus?”

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay to make from the same lump one vessel unto honor and another unto dishonor?

22 What if God, choosing to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted for destruction;

23 and this, that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, whom He had prepared before unto glory,

24 even us whom He hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25 As He saith also in Hosea: “I will call them ‘My people,’ who were not My people, and ‘her beloved’ who was not beloved.”

26 And, “It shall come to pass that in the place where it was said unto them, ‘Ye are not My people,’ there shall they be called the children of the living God.”

And He began again to teach by the seaside. And there was gathered unto Him a great multitude, so that He entered into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

2 And He taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in His doctrine:

3 “Hearken! Behold, there went out a sower to sow.

4 And it came to pass as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5 And some fell on stony ground where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth.

6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8 And other fell on good ground; and it yielded fruit that sprang up and increased and brought forth: some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundredfold.”

9 And He said unto them, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

10 And when He was alone, those who were about Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable.

11 And He said unto them, “Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God; but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables,

12 that, ‘seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them.’”

13 And He said unto them, “Know you not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables?

god of this world in that day in age was the people who held religious authority over a group of people that constantly denied God - and even kill the Son of God, Jesus.

god of this world doesnt have anything to do with some cartoon version of Satan.
If you actually think about Satan it was an opposing force against the will of God it seems like to me.

Therefore in that day in age as Israel - the world of it waxed to becoming "spiritually egypt" - became wicked on their own accord by the means of doing things their own way by selling out animals for sins and abusing people over the head with religious laws and heavy burdens.

It's said that people can be seen as 'gods' or 'god' - a judge or something like that - they are judge their own area of expertise and for the people in that day, god was going to a person and having your sins forgiven rather than actually having your sins forgiven by God through the son.

These to me are some things to consider - I don't personally believe in a devil cartoon character running around. I believe the devil has been defeated according to scripture. The god of that world - known as Satan - was the people whom were opposed to the will of God getting done.

There would be people who would say they were of jesus but only secretly in order not to go and get kicked out by the -gods- that ruled the temple.

Idk if anyone has anything else worth while to add to this because it has merit regardless of what anyone may think.

I don't think Matt believes the Devil is real.

Matthew 25:41

I dont believe in the traditional things that people concern themselves when it comes with the Devil.

I see the people of Israel in that day going against the will of God, and abusing his people and taking advantage of them, and what not.

They were Satan - they were the Devil. They were opposing the will of God.

Is that wrong to see it as such? Some people say it is.

I just dont believe there are demons that are running around and the devil is running around today...

Why?

Because of the Lord Jesus, He overcame and came to destroy the works of the devil.

Praise God. :)

People still choose to actively do evil acts. They are "Demon-like" mentality right?

There are only two types of wisdom earthly and heavenly - and two other things which is light and darkness.

( I dont care nothing about the state of Israel today personally, cause Ill never go there period no reason too.) Of course as a person who believes in Christ, I hope that place the best!

I believe God is now in control and and people can still be gods and try control you (your thoughts and mind and heart and soul) if you are not careful!

You've never read the Bible? It mentions the Devil several times.

Like I shared in my post.

I guess we are all gods cause we judge things, but we aren't like the actual main judge in a court room.

That's God. He knows the heart of every person.

It's about faith and love...

Well thats is fine if that is the case.

God choose that for them right.

You shouldnt have a problem with that then.

People go through the lake of fire in the afterlife and maybe come into the kingdom of God.

Jesus is in the fire? lol
ya you know that? @Jack.
ONLY sinners go to THE FIRE! Jesus NEVER sinned! You should apologize to Jesus!
