Raphael Warnock

In the 1990s, he served as youth pastor and then assistant pastor at Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York. While Warnock was pastor at Abyssinian, the church declined to hire workfare recipients as part of organized opposition to then-mayor Rudy Giuliani's workfare program. The church also hosted Fidel Castro on October 22, 1995, while Warnock was youth pastor.

Workfare is a governmental plan under which welfare recipients are required to accept public-service jobs or to participate in job training. Many countries around the world have adopted workfare (sometimes implemented as "work-first" policies) to reduce poverty among able-bodied adults.

In January 2001, Warnock was elected senior pastor of Douglas Memorial Community Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
He and an assistant minister were arrested and charged with obstructing a 2002 police investigation into suspected child abuse at a summer camp run by the church.
The police report called Warnock "extremely uncooperative and disruptive". Warnock had demanded that the counselors have lawyers present when being interviewed by police.
The charges were later dropped with the deputy state's attorney's acknowledgment that it had been a "miscommunication", adding that Warnock had aided the investigation and that prosecution would be a waste of resources.
Warnock said he was merely asserting that lawyers should be present during the interviews and that he had intervened to ensure that an adult was present while a juvenile suspect was being questioned. Warnock stepped down as the church's senior pastor in 2005.

After Fidel Castro died in 2016, Warnock told his church to pray for the Cuban people, calling Castro's legacy "complex, kind of like America's legacy is complex".

On Easter Sunday 2021, Warnock's Twitter account tweeted, "The meaning of Easter is more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whether you are a Christian or not, through a commitment to helping others we are able to save ourselves."

Some conservative Christians and political commentators criticized the tweet, including Benjamin Watson, Allie Beth Stuckey, and Jenna Ellis, who called it "heretical". The tweet was deleted that afternoon, with a spokesperson for Warnock saying, "the tweet was posted by staff and was not approved" but declining to say whether it reflected Warnock's beliefs.

And we're supposed to take his word for it?

Your hatred for a decent man and unwillingness to help the sick and poor is utterly appalling. The NT says, "blessed are those who do his commandments". Pretending to believe in Jesus and then supporting the opposite of what Jesus clearly teaches, is hypocrisy.

He didn't help them, he kept them off a program that would of actually put them back on their feet.
But what would you know?

Trump just refused to sign a bi-partisan bill for much needed affordable housing. Trump has defunded food for the poor, defunded Medicaid, defunded programs for the disabled and the homeless, wants to defund social security and Medicare, defunded foreign aid, causing the deaths of 750,000 plus, is trying to deport immigrants who are here legally and have green cards and work permits, has grossly violated his oath of office by profiting and accepting bribes, has repeatedly tried to steal money from the taxpayers by illegally suing them, has given huge tax breaks to the already wealthy, has engaged in constant war-mongering and saber-rattling, calls his political opponents all manner of vile names and this is only a fraction of Trump and the GOP massive corruption.

Apparently, you have never actually read what Jesus clearly says about helping immigrants, the sick, the poor and the otherwise oppressed. Or maybe you're just a hypocrite who knows what Jesus says, while supporting the opposite.

I don't think I would accept this as it sounds like a form of "works" based theology.

Sticking with the immigrants...what does Jesus say about immigrants with the purpose of toppling the USA government?

Matthew 25 reveals Trump's anti-Christ agenda to Congress and American People
You can't be serious with this guy? Decent?
This is a godly man?
Sen Ralph Warnock is a twisted individual. He was an ORIGINAL CO-SPONSOR Of the Women’s Health Protection Act
AKA- ABORTION ON DEMAND UNTIL BIRTH ACT----

Also- He a big supporter of LGBTQ+ "rights" who supported the "Equality Act" which pushes the rights of queer which are uneven with straight rights.
--If you don't want to hire a transgender because they are not right for the job- you will be penalized.
--Those Christian bakers who did not want to participate in baking cakes for gay weddings etc- also would be penalized.
To hell with a person's conscience? Too hell with an employer's right to hire employees that he/she chooses?

Loving others does not mean to help them kill their babies nor does it mean to become tyrants who tell us who we can hire or provide services for. It also does not mean to truck in millions of illegals to set them up on taxpayer benefits. What is wrong with you? While illegals have rent and food paid for by the USA taxpayer- grandma whose husband worked for 60 years paying his taxes,, can't afford her meds and decent groceries. What happened to caring for the widows?

Trump just refused to sign a bi-partisan bill for much needed affordable housing
He wants the SAVE ACT passed- don't YOU?

The USA has plenty of built in helps for the "poor". Coming here illegally to abuse them is not legal. WE are all to obey the laws of the land.
Many of these people are career criminals who are here to abuse people and the system built to help the poor. For those honest hardworking illegals- there is a legal way! My grandparents were immigrants- they never sucked off the system- they worked hard and became citizens- the same should apply to all. MANY at Ellis Island were sent back. We aren't to be indiscriminate about this.

You are supporting absolute lawlessness. These people are being sent here for ONE reason. POLITICS. THINK- WHY do dems HATE THE SAVE ACT? -- proving you are a CITIZEN to VOTE. Connect the dots. You are way off here.
Immigrants are not being asked to starve or be homeless. NOTE--------the homeless are not the Illegals.

It is very easy to "judge" others from the sound bites that we are forced feed, but it is another thing to put our own money into programs that are inspired by the words of Christ, rather than expecting the government to be our fallback position, when it comes to helping others in need around us.

Shalom

Pretending to care about the unborn while condemning the already born, is what the Bible calls hypocrisy. Show me where in the four narratives of Jesus that he condemns gay people or, even mentions gay people.

Health experts say that over 30,000 Americans, including many disabled people, will die annually specifically because of Trump's cuts to Medicaid. Is this your definition of "helping them"???

This is some of what the Bible says about immigrants:

"I was a stranger and you took me in" or, "did not take me in", as the wicked did not. --Jesus; Matthew 25

The law given to Moses commanded Israel to leave a portion of their fields unharvested, so that strangers and the poor would have food to eat. The law commands this in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, as well as Exodus.

“I will be a swift witness
Against sorcerers,
Against adulterers,
Against perjurers,
Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans,
And against those who turn away an alien—
Because they do not fear me,
Says the Lord of hosts.” --Malachi 3:6

“Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.

Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.” --Zecharia 7:10, thus says the Lord

“But let justice run down like water,
And righteousness like a mighty stream – Amos 5:24, thus says the Lord

These sorts of threads ought to just be ignored. Your hatred for the president is noted, but that doesn't make you right. Now Trump hates babies.... orange man bad is getting old. Meanwhile, a "pastor" who supports killing a baby about to be born is the good guy. Cut me a break.
Show me where in the four narratives of Jesus that he condemns gay people or, even mentions gay people.
Your argument is from silence? Does God change? When did He tell us he changed his mind about homosexuals? Jesus indeed spoke of marriage as between a Man and a Woman.
You know in your heart that all sexual immorality is hated by God. His law is written on our hearts. It's not even a question.
Paul sure spoke to it.
You are everything that's wrong in the church, huh?
Trump doesn't hate gay people- he hires them, if qualified. No one should be forced to hire anyone! No Christian hates gay people- but to live in sin is not going to get anyone far- we hate the sin, not the sinner.
To bad we can't say that for you and Trump. You just hate, and are half informed at that.
Try praying for Trump- he seems to love money far too much. That's what a Christian does..

I'm a kiwi living in Australia. I wonder if anyone can judge rightly from any distance outside the USA as to what is actually taking place there considering the notorious bias of the media on both sides of the political coin. Nevertheless, i will say this. Donald Trump is not Antichrist. Antichrist literally means in place of, or instead of Christ, and at the same time professing Christ. Putting oneself in a position of power and authority that displaces Christ in spiritual matters, yet claiming to be a servant of Christ. Betraying Christ with a kiss... like Judas. The fullness of the expression of Antichrist in the world is found in only one global institution that has prophetically met all the credentials that scripture offers regarding Antichrist. It isn't Trump.
However, Trump is not to be ignored in relation to biblical prophetic political or religious plays and counterplays.

Disagreeing strongly does not equal hate. I don't hate Trump, I hate what Trump does and more than that, I hate the utter hypocrisy of the many Christians who support his utter wicked regime.

Haitians and Syrians aren't enough. Now Drumpf is going after people with disabilities:

I provided a link. I could provide hundreds of links, but the link I did provide is enough. Anyone can Google literally thousands of links demonstrating the callous wickedness of Trump and his sycophants.
