Not this time of year you wouldn't! It's so hot and horribly sticky humid. I am far from Texas with a different climate- yet July is hot and sticky here too, but Texas is brutal for much longer. A little bit of cowgirl in ya, sister? clfh
Me-- I would love go to Sicily- where my grandparents came from. I was in Rome many years ago, but not to Sicily. I doubt it will happen though. The Greek Islands also always appealed to me. I would also avoid summers there...

I am from New Zealand @PS95 and it's winter here. It would be nice to be in sunshine that feels like sunshine right now! :spring:
I hear you - you're dreaming of spring! but it would only take you about ten minutes to change your mind. lol Winter can seem like forever sometimes. I usually read a lot and cook a lot- then I have to lose weight for spring. It's like a yearly ritual.. Have you had a lot of snow? which month does the cold end? Here it's cold from Nov- April. In march I can plant cool crops in the garden, and by May I can do summer crops.

Hardly any snow in my part of NZ. More down in the South Island. It's just chilly is all! :cold:
ohh no snow? I love snowy days. I'm not the right person to talk to right now. Grass is always greener has come upon me?!! As tired as I get of the cold like you are now, I get just as tired of the heat and humidity. It was in the 100's last week and then humidity came along and then thick smoke from Canadian wildfires hung over us for days.. It all has made me long for my fireplace and a bowl of stew and my slippers and a book. lol
But thankfully today was nice. August isn't usually as bad as July is around here. July is my least favorite month. I'm looking forward to autumn already!
Angelina, maybe go bundle up and get a couple of good books and then, make some soup and be cozy!! A good hot cup of tea goes good with your new books and some good biscuits too... and your favorite chair and a cozy soft blanket. Be of good cheer, sister. Spring will arrive on time. It's something to look forward to for sure. Does it get really hot and humid in summer there?

I think, I would love to go to Texas! :clmSmlx
My traveling days are over I think. However I would like to go back to England...see some of the beautiful stately estates with lovely gardens, and the quaint villages. When I was in the UK 1976, I did London and the main cities and towns.

Second choice is Hawaii. I especially loved the garden Isle of Kauai. Love the tropics and the flowers. And the rains which usually were misty every day. Then sometimes a wonderful thunderstorm broke out.

I have three in my bucket list.
Not in this order:
1. New Zealand (for trout fishing)
2. Scotland (to see my ancestors' home)
3. Thailand (for its culture and unique mountains).

Even though my home state, (Idaho) has its own world class trout fishing, I would love to visit New Zealand for trophy brown trout.

Thailand was my favorite Asian country of the seven I visited. The second time I went I did a nine day bus tour from Bangkok all the way to the Northern town of Chang Rai (North of Chang Mai).

Thailand has so much interesting and pretty architecture, ancient ruins, water buffalos roaming the roads, homes on stilts along the canals. I visited three Hill Tribes in the mountains. They all wear different tribal outfits and sell their handcrafts. We reached two Hill Tribes by riding in the back of a jeepney.

Another Hill Tribe was reached by long tail boat. Their village was near the river and wood houses were built on stilts. There was a small wood church in that Karen village. Little kids came out to sell woven belts they had made. One tiny girl was wearing a cross so I bought a belt from her too.

I was in Phoenix one time during the Summer to visit my uncles. Your brain feels like it is baking. Everyone goes out only early morning and in the evening. Even then it's hot in Summer. Never went back in Summer.

Any particular countries your favorites?

I'd just love to visit as many countries as possible. Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Britain, Germany, Holland, Greece, Croatia, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, Sweden.
Of course this is wishful thinking.
I can't afford such a holiday.
If I was limited then I would visit the first 5 countries I mentioned.
