You better do it quickly before every remnant of God's beautiful nature is ruined by Trump's push for total AI dominance in the US and abroad. At this point, if we want to see untainted nature, we'll have to wait for God's new Heaven and new earth.

Spent a week in Japan. Loved the ancient city of Kyoto...thousands of temples and each one has a large garden to stroll. As a nature lover I loved the gardens. Also visited Nikko which has a large shrine on top of the mountain...there are 37 hairpin turns to get up to the top. There's also a lovely blue lake up there. Took the Bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto so saw the scenery...lots of rice paddies and small wood farms with blue tile roofs.

Tokyo is just too busy and modern for me but I loved the other areas.

This is called the Golden Pavilion... it's in Kyoto. Notice the mirror image in the water.

Second choice is Hawaii. I especially loved the garden Isle of Kauai. Love the tropics and the flowers. And the rains which usually were misty every day. Then sometimes a wonderful thunderstorm broke out.

Even though my home state, (Idaho) has its own world class trout fishing, I would love to visit New Zealand for trophy brown trout.

Its founder and first vice president was my late father, the most skilled fly fisherman I have ever known.

My late father was one of the charter members of the FFI ( Fly Fishers of Idaho) and a charter member of the FFF (Fly Fishers Federation Idaho Chapter) way back in the 60s. He spoke of Trout Unlimited but his two clubs were focused more on local Idaho waters, though the mission of conservation was similar.
He was a much sought after Fly fishing coach, Fly tyer, rod builder and guide in Idaho back in the day. He was among the first to use a belly boat when it was still a primitive tire tube with a canvas butt sling.

He used to say, "Tight Lines!"

I've been to Tokyo, although I preferred the smaller old city of Kyoto and town of Nikko. Kyoto is the ancient capitol city with a thousand temples, each with a different large garden. Nikko has an ancient shrine and lovely scenery high atop a mountain with a lake.

Tokyo is quite busy and a bustling modern city.

I've never been to West Texas before. There's actually a lot of Texas I've never seen. I live south of Houston in Galveston. It's humid here too, plus, we have hurricanes and tourists to contend with. I've thought about relocating to central Texas (hill country) one day. It seems like a nice location and more scenic.

I've been to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, Austin, and San Antonio. (And I recognized those Riverwalk pictures Deb posted in post #28.) Austin was neat; my grandson lives there. I had a job offer in Ft. Worth, but DFW couldn't beat an offer in the South Florida beach area. Plus, I couldn't see rooting for the Cowboys. The closest I've been to the Texas Hill Country is Luckenbach. Didn't see Waylon and Willie, and the boys there, darn it.
