Then a freeze, storms, rain, lightening, hail, crazy winds…plants shriveled to brown…(they will recover) and Back to foggy cool mornings, sunny warm breezy days…

Winter clothes, boots / Summer clothes, sandals / always close at hand…
Everyday is a surprise!

I have received x3 national, Civil Defense, Red Alert warnings today. We are preparing for Cyclone (Hurricane) Vaianu as it makes its way to NZ.

It will hit around 2am Sunday morning NZT, accompanied by a code red severe wind warning around 5am to 6pm.

I've been through a few Atlantic hurricanes. Fortunately, when we lived in SoFla, we were visiting my wife's son in San Diego when Hurricane Andrew wrecked Miami. The safest way to ride out a category 5 hurricane is to be 4,000 kilometers away when it hits, and Southern California is not a bad place to shelter.

It's sunny right now. Didn't put the news on yet to hear the temperature but I think it's about 70 f.
They are now saying the rain will come on Sunday. It will probably just be for a day.

Warm, mostly cloudy, sun peek occasionally, winds occasionally, intermittent pleasant rain.

(Had some frisky sneaky male goats several months ago visit some females!
A few days ago got two baby surprises, and again yesterday two more baby surprises.
Weather pleasant enough for the baby situation.) Thank God. Strong storms not too far from us.

Please show us photos of the baby goats!

Here in California, even in Los Angeles, goats are used to clear the brush on hillsides to help prevent wildfires. Some made a run for it recently.

It's still hot and muggy...we rarely get humidity. But I don't mind it.

Heat indexes 115° and above yesterday and the next few days ...oppressive heat with little to no breeze.

I am outside a lot. I have animals to care for. Today, I was outside with pullets (female chickens prior to laying) wanting me to hold them. I built a new coop and I've combined a couple flocks of juveniles. There are 3 little pullets that all want in my arms at the same time. (lol) But after 30 minutes or so, I started to get nauseous. I think after a severe heat stroke last summer, my body just doesn't want to handle the heat as much. I went inside and hydrated, the nausea passed ...and went back out a little later. I give the chickens a good misting and fresh waters a couple times a day.
