In Eden he said, “Yea, hath God said?” Even in Matthew 4 Satan quotes Scripture, but Jesus responds with, “It is written.” Period.

Furthermore, Scripture cautions that false teachers can come in the guise of “ministers of righteousness” even as they work for deception (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). I don’t pretend to know your heart, but the tactic you employ is dangerous: You claim God is speaking through you, then when your teaching is confronted with Scripture, you accuse us of not understanding or believing what God must be saying through you.

Your claim does not trump God’s written Word. God’s written Word judges your claim.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. You are claiming that God sent you, that God is speaking through you, and that your book is the very book John was shown in Revelation. Those are very serious claims, and they require more than your word for them.

Revelation 10 says John took the little book, ate it, and was told, “Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings” (Revelation 10:11). It does not say that thousands of years later Scott Taylor would write a book called St. John's Mystery - Revealed. It does not name you, it does not name your book, and it does not say your writings would be God's message for the end times. You are putting yourself into the text where the text never puts you.

You also keep saying that what you are teaching is not yours, but God's, because He sent you. But Scripture warns us about men making that very kind of claim. God said, “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied” (Jeremiah 23:21). He also said, “Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith” (Jeremiah 23:31). So saying God sent you does not prove God sent you, and saying God is speaking through you does not prove God is speaking through you. That claim has to be tested by the written Word of God.

ScottA, show us the verse that says your book is the little book of Revelation 10. It is not there. Show us the verse that says God would send you to reveal this mystery. It is not there. Show us the verse that says your books contain revelation God held back from previous generations. It is not there. Those are your claims, not God's words.

And Scripture gives a serious warning about adding claims to what God has actually said: “Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar” (Proverbs 30:6). I do not have to know your heart to say this teaching is dangerous. I only have to compare what you are claiming with what God actually wrote.

Your book is not Scripture, your claims are not Scripture, and your private revelation is not Scripture. God's Word is the standard, and when your claims go beyond what God has written, people need to reject those claims and stay with the Bible.

You also say that rejecting your claim follows the biblical pattern of people rejecting God's true messengers. That argument is backwards. Being rejected does not prove you were sent by God. Scripture is full of false prophets whom God's people were commanded to reject. God said, “the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak... even that prophet shall die” (Deuteronomy 18:20). God takes falsely speaking in His name very seriously.

So stop hiding behind “you just don't believe” and “people rejected God's messengers before.” Show the Scripture. Show where Revelation 10 says your modern book is John's little book. Show where Scripture says God would send you to unveil it. Show where the Bible identifies your writings as God's end-time revelation.

I'm not trying to get anyone to agree with me about what you teach. I am comparing your statements to Scripture and letting Scripture determine the validity of your claims. Jesus said, "the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day" (John 12:48).

So telling me my "measure" negates my claims against you does not refute anything. The measure is NOT mine. It is God's Word. If what you are preaching is true then prove it plainly from Scripture in context. If it can't withstand the Word written, then the issue is not with me for calling attention to it. The issue is with the doctrine.

You claim God has called you to proclaim something that has spiritual authority behind it, yet you say Scripture does not have to support it. That is NOT the standard that the bible teaches. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20). Paul didn’t require that people believe what he said simply because he said God had sent him.

Nor does this idea that the “stakes are higher for me” since I am holding you to account on your claims. That doesn’t help your argument, it compounds the problem. You are basically saying I might face persecution for not agreeing with your alleged calling, yet also saying Scripture is unnecessary to verify it.

No, ScottA. Just because you claim to be called does not elevate you above being biblically examined. Scripture says exactly the opposite thing is true: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

If what you say is from God it will stand up to being tested against the written Word of God. If you have to tell people that cannot rightly be demanded of you, then you are asking them to trust your authority based on your own testimony alone. I will not do that, and neither should anyone else.
