I have heard testimonies similar to this as well. And, it is Biblical.
Acts 2:8
“And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?”

5And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
I was baptized by the Holy Spirit when I was 10 yrs old. never spoke or prayed in tongues. I had a female friend that said that she prayed in tongues but didn't speak in tongues. but when she prayed in tongues things happened.
Is this what you call tongues ? :)

Don’t speak FOR me, what I did NOT say.
Men CAN study and Learn Foreign Languages.
God chose men to Speak the Gospel to foreign speaking men, and Gifted such chosen men the Ability to Preach the Gospel in a foreigners Native Language.
Who said otherwise?
Yes , in a language that is/was KNOWN to others and not this jibber jabber nonsense we sometimes see today

I have seen preachers delivering a Sermon in English…and interject 6 or so gibberish, and then continue in English.
What, Who’s native Language… ? and what part of “six words” of the Gospel was said to them?? No one says, identifies, interprets.
I believe, Some Disciples were “Gifted” with the Ability to Speak, “Teach”, “Preach a Sermon”, in “Foreign Languages” To Listeners, whose language was different.
For years, men attended, Beautiful Churches, listened to preaching, Sermons, singing in a foreign language, that the listeners had no knowledge / understanding of what was being said. Weird.

27If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

Of course men can speak in foreign langauges . i learned a couple in high school at later in college .
DONT mean i was speaking in tongues at all . Any pagan has the ability to learn languages .
Someone lied to this people , as if the HOLY langauge of GOD can be taught in schools of men .
IT was and it is OF GOD . And that heavenly language is not learned or taught in the schools of men .
It is a gift given by GOD .

A man speaking in a foreign language he was not taught, TO a people hearing the Gospel in their language IS the Gift of tongues From God.
No one said otherwise.
An English Speaking Preacher Giving a Sermon to English Speakers, blurting out , gibberish, in the middle of his Sermon…is a benefit and purpose for who?

it is heavenly , tongues cometh of GOD and not of this world .
The second line you wrote is correct .
And as far as the third one , IF YOU EVE NTHINK kenneth copeland , them nar realmers
and etc are speaking in tongues , YOU would be d ead wrong . Not to mention
the benefit of tongues IS two fold . Namely as a sign for the unbelivers
but also , IF there be AN INTERPRETER then for the edifying of the church . OTHEREWISE
they need to keep it real low in the church . PROPHESYING is the key .
BUT if one d oes speak in a tongue and the revelatiion is given , THAT of course must be tested
and if it were of GOD it would EDIFY the church .
but tongues should be done in order and by two or by three at most and always WITH one who interprets .
THEN let the others test what was said in the interpreation .
BUT BELIEVE YOU ME we also have us a KUNDALINI SPIRIT at work in them chruches .
And it has men and women barking like dogs , rollin g around on the floor
Acting like animals and the interpretaions IF THER are even one

Acts 2: 6 & 8. The FIRST mention of this 'gift' and it was a miracle of HEARING. The Apostles spoke in their own tongue to the Jews of 15 separate nations who HEARD in their OWN tongue. That's what the Bible SAYS.
1 Cor 14: 23 tongues are a SIGN for unbelievers NOT for believers.
Paul's says it was the fulfillment of prophecy found in Isaiah 28: 11-12.
Paul clearly stated these sign gifts were for JEWS in 1 Cor 1: 22. This sign gift is NOT for the Gentile church.
According to Mark 16:20, signs were a confirmation that the Apostles were sent by Christ to the lost sheep of Israel.
2 Cor 2: 12, Paul states that signs were wrought by Apostles. Signs CONFIRMED apostleship.
Chrysostom and Augustine both said tongues had ceased by their time. (4th century)
The biggest reason Paul had to address the issue of tongues at Corinth (and NO other city) is because pagan converts were bringing their ecstatic utterances of the Dionysus cult into the Church. Paul had to set them straight.
Sadly, too many in the modern church have catered to the fleshy satisfaction of believing they are "gifted" and specially blessed with a gift that was never meant for them.
Ignorance has blinded immature believers.

THEY NEVER CAME TO HIM . they beleived in another god who sold lies using HIS NAME .

My advice stands . WE better KNOW darn well its been JESUS and not some other jesus we been a loving and a following .
SO LET ALL who name the name OF JESUS actually OPEN THE Bible and learn
well what these leaders wont teach , AS IN THE TRUTH .
