You will not answer... because the answer, does not fit with our "tradition of men"I asked what your point was. I will not answer for you.
Pose your statement as a statement, that what comes out of your mouth is from you and no one else. You will not answer... because the answer, does not fit with our "tradition of men"
Two Biblical verses. Just two. From these two verses... Tell me what the Church see about the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 10:20 (ESV) for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Luke 12:12 (ESV) For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.
Now add... blasphemy of the Holy Spirit...
You still don't see do you?
Here is my statement... for the third time!Pose your statement as a statement, that what comes out of your mouth is from you and no one else.
Sorry, but I will go wth the definition of the word blasphemy as was understood by the God/man and all His followers as well as the 1st century church. On the contrary, if many can unknowingly entertain angels, many can also unknowingly entertain the Holy Spirit...and it is their own behavior that determines whether it is blasphemy or not.
Good--thanks!Here is my statement... for the third time!
Matthew 10:20 (ESV) for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Luke 12:12 (ESV) For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.
A further comparison points in the same direction, and this one reaches back into the Old Testament. When Jesus is accused of casting out demons by the prince of demons, Luke records his reply: “But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you” (Luke 11:20, ESV). Matthew preserves the same saying with a single, significant difference: “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you” (Matthew 12:28, ESV).
Everything else remains the same. Where Luke writes “finger of God,” Matthew writes “Spirit of God.” The two Gospel writers present the expressions as describing the same divine activity, as shown above with “Spirit of your Father.”
That comparison becomes even more meaningful when we remember where the phrase “finger of God” comes from. It is not merely an isolated figure of speech. In Exodus, Pharaoh’s magicians admit defeat by declaring, “This is the finger of God” (Exodus 8:19, ESV). Later, the stone tablets of the covenant are said to be “written with the finger of God” (Exodus 31:18, ESV).
In both passages, the phrase describes God Himself acting directly. There is no intermediary between God’s will and what takes place. Matthew’s wording therefore naturally invites the reader to understand the Spirit of God in the same way: as God’s own active presence and power at work. This reaches the same conclusion as the earlier Hebrew ruach, but from an entirely different line of biblical evidence.
The same pattern appears elsewhere in Scripture. Being led by the Spirit, having the mind of God, and letting the word of Christ dwell richly within are presented as closely related realities rather than entirely separate experiences. Each describes God’s active work within His people.
One final observation deserves mention. Throughout the Bible, no explicit prayers are addressed to the Holy Spirit. Likewise, in Revelation’s closing vision of the new creation, the redeemed stand before the throne of God and of the Lamb, yet no third throne is described. These observations do not prove the case by themselves, nor should they be asked to. But many readers see them as fitting naturally within the broader biblical pattern that has emerged throughout this discussion.
Then it is as I said, You do not understand.Sorry, but I will go wth the definition of the word blasphemy as was understood by the God/man and all His followers as well as the 1st century church.
