The prophecy states clearly that all eyes will see Him when He returns. Certainly, this did not happen in AD 70, and such an event would not have gone unnoticed. Jesus also told us what would happen when He returns, and none of these things has happened yet. Do not be deceived or confused by the claim that Christ has already returned. Jesus warned us not to believe those who say He has come in secret (Matthew 24:23–27). His return will be visible to all (Revelation 1:7), He will come with the clouds of Heaven (Matthew 24:30), the angels will gather His elect (Matthew 24:31), and the dead in Christ will be raised (John 5:28–29). Jesus also said that all the tribes of the earth will mourn when they see Him coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory (Matthew 24:30). Furthermore, He said that after the tribulation, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken (Matthew 24:29). Where did any of this happen in AD 70? The destruction of Jerusalem and the return of Jesus Christ are not the same event. We must let Jesus' own words guide us and not force His prophecies into a past event that does not fulfill what He said would happen.

Blessings
You know what is really odd? You quote Matthew 24. But if you would consider the first verses of Matthew 24, you would realize it refers to the events around 70 AD.

He didn't ask about the 2nd beast did he? That's why I didn't mention it.

Why are you so aggressive in your comment and assume I never post about the second beast or state who I think what the false prophet is?

Many times I have, and I have even started threads on the false prophet.

I though you said a few months ago that were trying to be more respectful and friendlier in you post to people.

You also made false accusations and avoided what I did post and only commented on what I didn't post.

Aggressive in my comments? :) You are reading me wrong if you think that. I was simply meaning Preterists in general, not you specifically. That Preterists in general can tell you all about the first beast but have very little to say about the 2nd one. Revelation 13 makes zero sense as a whole if it all about the first beast and very little about the 2nd beast. I just want to know why, if the first beast can be named why can't the 2nd beast be named? If Nero is the first beast according to some Preterists, what was the name of the 2nd beast then? Is the 2nd beast not human or something? Nero was certainly human.

Okay thanks but once again I didn't mention the second beast because it wasn't in the questions but see post #15

I'm beginning to think that you have already made up your mind that Jesus returned in 70 AD rather than you are simply entertaining it.

Matthew 24:1-3
And coming out from the temple, Jesus was going along, and His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. And He answered and said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.” Now as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”

The destruction of the second temple connected with the second coming and with the end of the age. And also the fact that the Book of Revelation speaks as if the second temple was still standing.

Jesus described false prophets in general in that verse, not about the false prophet of Revelation.

Jesus described both the same in Revelation and Mathew

Just like the false prophet gives power to the sea beast the Pharisees gave power to Rome when they had the people declare Cesar as their king.

I know this is a controversial matter. I know that many here are now going to call it pathetic, but honestly after I read the New Testament - and am simply objective - it is like the New Testament wants to tell me that Jesus returned around 70 AD. That the Beast was Rome and Babylon was Jerusalem. But somehow this is also confusing.
Have the dead in Christ rose? Have we been given new glorified bodies? Has He judged and rewarded His servants? Has he setup His earthly Kingdom? No?
Then He did not return in 70AD

When I read the bible I see Rev 13 as a world wide system and not a system set up by the Roman government.

How do you know these things didnt happen? What if Jesus returned around 70 AD, took all his followers, and brought them to a better world? And the people who were left in this world are the unworthy, and we are the descendants of the unworthy? What if

The second coming has not happened yet. Rome, Nero etc etc were simply types and shadows of the true fulfillments to come just like there have been many antichrists in the past but we are still waiting for that last one.
You might like this podcast. In it a view of who the "anti-christ" are presented.

Where does the bible speak of this happening?
Why doesn't the bible or history speak of this happening?
What is the future for all of the unworthy?

Matthew 16:27-28
For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay each one according to his deeds. Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.
Could this refer to the next thing the gospels talk about...that is the Mt. of transfiguration?
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Actually, we have reports of Josephus and Tacitus about the events around 70 AD that are shocking.

This is indeed is the logic according to men, men living after-the-fact of all that was "before the foundation of the world."

Just as the Lamb was slain before the world even began and only came in the fullness of time, seemingly, according to these times of all being made manifest, as if their revealing were the measure of all that is true--that is only true in this world. However, the things of God, are not really of this world. This all is simply the reading or revelation of all that was and is.

What should we really believe, the image or that which it is all an image of? What we have seen, or not seen? Is that the measure--that we should only believe what we have seen?

So then, if the Lamb was slain "before", what then should we actually believe--that what is true, is only true when we have seen it revealed? And if we had not seen the Lamb slain "before", but only in history, which is actually more true? What then is the best practice--to believe according to the ways of this world, or what was and is revealed--that was true even "before?" Or should we just kick everything we have not seen down the path set before us, until we have seen it?

But what are we talking about--the firstfruits of what is revealed and seen in this world--or the firstfruits of the Spirit...which are like the wind and cannot be seen of this world?

I tell you--the Truth has come into this fishbowl world--but it and He, are not of this world.

No, Jesus did not return in 70AD. Which scriptures in the New Testament have you confused?

Is there any physical evidence of dead believers before 70AD? We have evidence of unbelievers like mummies and such but I haven’t seen anyone present evidence of the remains of known believers. We have James’ ossuary but it’s empty.
