In Matthew 24 and Mark 13, one of the main warnings our Lord Jesus gave us, His Church, is to not allow any man to deceive us. Jesus said that in His answer to His disciples asking what would be the SIGN of His coming and of the end of the world. That means Lord Jesus was pointing to this deception for the END, leading all the way up to His future return to gather His Church.

What were the SIGNS Jesus gave there that will cause 'deception' in the last days? Let's list them...

1.
Matt 24:5
5 For many shall come in My name, saying, "I am Christ"; and shall deceive many.
KJV

Those are about the "many antichrists" that Apostle John mentioned in 1 John 2:18. And there have been many already in world history that have claimed they were Christ. But that is not the actual coming Antichrist for the end.

2.
Matt 24:11
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
KJV

Those are different than the ones before claiming to be Jesus Christ. These are crept in unawares in the Church that teach false doctrine. Apostle Paul warned about these who preach "another Jesus" per 2 Corinthians 11, and Paul was afraid for His Christian brethren that they might believe those false ones, and receive "another spirit" and thus not remain a spiritual "chaste virgin" waiting on Jesus to come.

3.
Matt 24:17-20
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
KJV

Within that, in red, Lord Jesus gives a warning against deception to the coming Antichrist/false-Messiah and Satan's angels. The SEALS of Revelation 6 Jesus gave align with these SIGNS of the end He gave in His Olivet discourse. On the 6th SEAL, stars of heaven fall to earth as a fig tree casts her "untimely figs". Per the middle east fig horticulture, there is an EARLY FIG that grows in the WINTER and falls off in the spring. Lord Jesus uses that as a spiritual metaphor for the time of His coming, because spiritually, the TRUE HARVEST TIME when Jesus comes to gather His Church will be in symbolic SUMMER, not symbolic "winter".

Thus the above Scripture in red is a warning against deception to the first supernatural Messiah that comes first before Lord Jesus does. Jesus pulls from Isaiah 54 about the "Blessed are the barren..." parable, which is about spiritual worship. The symbolic 'barren', meaning their spiritual wombs remain barren waiting on Jesus to come, is about the Church remaining faithful spiritual chaste virgins waiting on Jesus. But instead those who are "with child, and to them that give suck in those days", are about the deceived who do not wait for Jesus to come, but fall away to the fake-Christ, the "man of sin" that comes first.

4.
Matt 24:23-26
23
Then if any man shall say unto you, "Lo, here is Christ, or there"; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, "Behold, He is in the desert"; go not forth: "behold, He is in the secret chambers"; believe it not.
KJV

Note how verse 23 & 26 are in the singular tense. Jesus warns that if the deceived come up to you and say things like, "Lo, here is Christ, or there", to not believe it. That is about the deceived proclaiming that Jesus has returned.

The KJV phrase "false Christs" is thus meant as singular about the coming Antichrist, a pseudo-Christ per Greek pseudochristos. Dr. James Strong in his Strong's Exhaustive Concordance caught this mistake and defined pseudochristos to mean 'a spurious Messiah", singular. Per the Greek 'christos' means Christ, singular. It's not like our English where plurality is shown with an 's' on the end of the word. Greek 'christoi' is plural. Some Greek texts have christoi instead, but Dr. Strong used the Greek text that had pseudochristos.

That coming pseudo-Christ will work great signs and wonders that IF... it were possible, would deceive even Christ's "very elect". By that Lord Jesus reveals the grand deception for the end of this world.

5.
Matt 24:28
28 For wheresoever the
carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
KJV

Lord Jesus gave the above in relation to the deception by those first ones TAKEN per what He said at the end of Luke 17. You likely won't understand the above until you read and understand that latter part of Luke 17 and His answer to His disciple's question about where those first ones taken would be taken to. Jesus mentions this topic in the Matthew 24:40-41 verses also, but not in the detail of Luke 17.

Lord Jesus' answer in Luke 17:37 was to wheresoever the "body" is, that's where the eagles will be gathered together. The above verse is a repeat of that answer, except He used the idea of a DEAD CARCASE instead of body, which definitely points to those TAKEN being taken by Satan's host, the fowls that are gathered together. In short, those in Christ DO NOT WANT TO BE THE FIRST ONE 'TAKEN'. I know the pre-trib rapture theory teaches that we do, but that is simply false.

6.
Matt 24:48-51
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, "My lord delayeth his coming";
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder,
and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
KJV

Jesus issued a warning to the deceived of His servants that do not 'watch' those SIGNS of the end He gave there leading up to His future coming. If they instead remain spiritually asleep and spiritually drunken in the night, when He does come and finds they have fallen away to worship that coming pseudo-Christ that comes first, those servants will be cast among the hypocrites, which is about being cast to the "outer darkness" outside the gates of the holy city (See Rev.22:14-15).

Good point that Jesus put deception first when they asked about the end. I think a lot of it creeps in quietly, like when something sounds spiritual but quietly drifts from what Christ actually said. Staying in the word daily is the best check I know. 1 John 4:1 says to test the spirits to see whether they are from God, and that has helped me a lot.

People tend to only discern what is blatantly and obviously wrong. How could the deception be so great that even the elect could be deceived?

In our time sound doctrine is no longer tolerated never mind understood.

God sets a mark on the foreheads of the saints in Jerusalem that they should be spared in Ez. 9. All others are destroyed.

Here are they who are spared...And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. Ez. 9:4

The iniquity is so great that God has to sort out the inhabitants of the holy city. The migrants and squatters and everyone who has not come through the door legally will be wiped out.

And here is the complaint of God against the squatters, the workers of iniquity. Who can understand the complaint that God makes????

There are 2 complaints: Ez. 9:9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not.

1. Those that say that God has forsaken the earth

2. And those that say that God can't see.

Who can understand these things? Are there any elect here who are almost able or JUST able to interpret God's condemnation?????

Your title is good, but you would have don't better to keep silent not giving commentary, and only give the scriptures.

Because your commentary itself is deception, many points would have to be corrected. If you can receive it and are willing to take them one by one--here is one to start with:

3.
Matt 24:17-20
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Here is what the "stars of heaven refers to:

And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 26:4

But do understand, "as the stars of heaven", does not mean literally "of heaven" for it says merely "as" the stars we seen in these heavens, as it was first told to Abraham. But it is Christ ("a life-giving spirit") who translated it to mean literally from heaven: Abraham's seed, from heaven...are first "fallen."

"Winter" simply means: in darkness.

Here is a Deception warning for the END that many brethren struggle with, yet it is written.

7.
Matt 24:37-39
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
KJV

What were the days of Noah really about, and the reason for God bringing the flood of Noah's day?

Per Genesis 6, the "sons of God" saw the daughters of Adam, and took wives of all they chose, and their offspring were the giants, a literal hybrid-race.which God did not create. In The Old Testament Scriptures, that term "sons of God" always means the angels.

A group of Satan's angels came to earth, and all angels in God's Word appear on earth with the image of men. Jude 6-7 says those angels left their own habitation, and estate, and went after "strange flesh" (meaning flesh not assigned to them to have).

Jude 6-7
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
KJV

Per 1 Chronicles 20:6, the giant had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot. Have you ever seen someone today like that, with six fingers on BOTH hands, and six toes on BOTH feet?

Isaiah 26:14 is pointing to the giant, but the KJV translators did not bring one of the proper names for the giants, i.e., Rephaim, into English like they did in other Scriptures. That Isaiah verse says they are dead, they SHALL NOT RISE, i.e. be resurrected! Even the wicked are going to have their own resurrection, i.e., the "resurrection of damnation" per John 5. The fact that these 'dead', the Rephaim or giants, will NOT be resurrected is because they were a HYBRID-RACE of men of great stature and supernatural evil which God DID NOT CREATE. They involve the demi-gods of old pagan mythology, of which there actually is some truth to.

Per Genesis 6:9, we are told that Noah was "perfect in his generations". The word 'perfect' in the Hebrew is the same word used for the blood purity of sacrificial animals per the old covenant sacrifices. That points directly to the matter of bloodline purity being one of the main reasons that Noah and his were saved through the flood.

Per Daniel 2:42-43, about the final beast kingdom of the feet of ten toes of part iron mixed with clay, we are told that 'they' will mingle with the SEED OF MEN, but they will not cling together. That is yet another pointer to the END about Satan's angels coming to do something like they did in Noah's day.

Thus when our Lord Jesus said the days of His future return will be like the days of Noah, He was actually pointing to Satan's angelic host literally coming to earth like they did in Noah's day, and taking of the flesh daughters of man again.

8.
The "another beast" of Revelation 13:11 forward, being the "dragon", Satan himself coming to this earth at the END with His angels, will have the power to make and give life to an "image to the beast". And all those who refuse to bow to it in worship are to be killed.

Rev 13:14-15
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
KJV

Could this be about A.I. and the bio-man projects governments of today's world are developing, so that image will be able to both speak and through its A.I. have ability to control men's power of thought to cause those who reject it to be killed?

Don't be deceived. All these things are soon coming to this earth at the END. Some of it is already here today.

Matt 24:23-26

48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, "My lord delayeth his coming";
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

The deceived talk a lot about deception. It's the smokescreen to hide their ignorance. They do so because they don't understand The Truth. If they did their energies would be bent to revealing him. As they don't know him they don't/ can't.

Oh that's a real smart statement, not.

Lord Jesus Christ's FIRST AND MAIN WARNING SIGN for the end of this world was to not allow any man to deceive us.

Everything you said above is thus pointing directly at Lord Jesus Christ, showing just how smart you are.

For those who don't care to read them, you also mean.

You actually don't understand your statement that it is the DECEIVED that keep talking about DECEPTION, like that's a bad thing? That's a ludicrous statement you made. Your statement is what does not make any sense.

Thanks for laying out the signs from Matthew 24 so clearly, Davy. I noticed that Jesus opens the Olivet discourse with deception, "Take heed that no man deceive you" (Matthew 24:4), and then repeats it in verses 5 and 11. Episkopos, your question about how even the elect could be deceived points to Matthew 24:24, and I think pwg_jonathan's reminder to test the spirits in 1 John 4:1 is the practical answer. Paul adds the unseen side in 2 Corinthians 11:14, where Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, and in 1 Timothy 4:1, where some will follow deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us the real struggle is not against flesh and blood. Peter also pairs false teachers with the angels who sinned in 2 Peter 2:1-4, and Christians read the related Genesis 6:1-4 passage differently, some taking the sons of God as the line of Seth and others as angels, but the call to stay watchful holds either way. I do not claim to have the timing of these events figured out, and I am grateful for the careful study here.
