After 50 some years I became saved

no problem - not to worry - the early Christians also only had the Church and no bible - the problem now is too many Popes - twinc

But now I wonder my parents and my sister and brother died before I got saved........ were are they now ?
They went to the same church I went to.. none of us had a bible !

well, God judges the heart, He does not care whether a man calls himself "saved" or not, ok

this "saved" thing that you have accepted, understand that that is just an interpretation, and Scripture even states "he who holds out to the end is saved," and gives many other indications that "saved" is not this on/off switch that gets thrown after we have accomplished some altar works.

has anyone given you the impression that they know where they are going after they die? Their soul? Because they do not, ok. Scripture even says "what we will be, we do not know." Of course people aren't going to give you 10% of their hard-earned money for that lol.

if their death was mourned, then they were loved, and this is one compelling evidence that they might be resurrected. Scripture speaks of those who go to the grave unmourned, and are never thought of again, which can be contrasted with your feelings about your family; do they bring back fond memories, do you still mention them to other family members and do they still mention them, fondly? etc

with Samuel, or 'in the bosom of Abraham' if you like, or whatever basically valueless description makes you comfortable. Anyone who tells you they know is blowing smoke ok, "no one knows where they go when they die."

And anyone who makes some pronouncement about they know where your deceased family members are now is full of it too

We had to go to a priest to confess our sins! Until then we were not saved............. How can a priest do that ??
And how did all there teaching priest and nuns make us believe this? No bible............ just what they spoke and what was in

so what is so wrong about that - lets just say that as Catholics they had the best chance of being saved because out side the Church there is no salvation because of unrepented blasphemy of the Holy Spirit - twinc

ah well i don't believe they can, that directly goes against Scripture, in many places, but i guess a practicing Catholic would have an answer that at least satisfies themselves.

my guess is having been raised from birth to believe that, they just accepted it without question, but nonetheless i'm sure you found many Catholics seeking Christ, did you not? I doubt the ratio is much different in your new sect tbh.

i would say be careful that you have not just traded one bad idea for another, Protestants pretty much preach fear and false salvation, too.

The meek inherit the earth, not sure what you mean by 'home.'

Back when I was Catholic , I was told I would be going to purgatory if I did not have any big sins. Back then the sins were
mortal or vimail ? and I could go there to be forgiven for the small sins.
Now knowing we are all sinners, and as long as you do your best , well............ who wants to sin ? but we are not perfect.
Only one is and we know who that is............... GOD !
I have a friend I grew up with who is still at that church........ she says she is saved...... I sure hope she is. She is like a sister to
me we grew up from the age of 4 and 5 ......... and the only way I can communicate with her is in the mail.
And when you pester some on religion if your are not of the same faith , it can cause trouble and I do not want that after al these years.

I'm certain Jesus is quoted as saying that there was NO forgiveness for blaspheming the Holy Spirit......in or out of any kind of fellowships or temples....
