Why aren't there any moderators for this site?

It seems that they are not around often.
Maybe they just trust us to be gracious to each other and 'play nicely!!' :)

I do wish they'd be a bit more active, but then again I have been a mod on a non religious board before. It can be quite a job keeping averything in check. Everything they do will make someone unhappy and potentially everyone unhappy.

The last big thing the mods did was demand members state if they were Christian or not. Look what happened! People for whatever reason got upset.

Trust me... The mods on this board have lowered the boom on me on a few occasions!

Perhaps a mod can address thei seeming lack of monitoring here. In the mean time. Folks have every power to moderate what THEY say and what conversations they engage in.

For me, I have set my own rules and code of engagement (still within the rules of the board). An example is I will not engage in personal attacks. You don't have to do them nor respond to them.

Enough people do that and use the ignore list maybe they will get the message.

The members don't bother me.................................much. It's the ones that come in, post junk and then run away. Or the ones who make post after post of their nonchristian agenda. I've been on sites where people come in and post porn. Pictures and movies that got about 12 hours of viewing. I've reported things here that sat around for days without it being taken care of. Some of it never did.

This site needs moderators.

Be careful what you ask for.
Statement on the Trinity

"Nonetheless, statements accusing Trinity believers of blasphemy, insults or other strongly worded statements of condemnation are not welcome here. We are open to folks who legitimately seek to learn and understand things, but we are not open to those who categorically deny a central tenant of the faith through willful choice."

Our recourse is to apply this more brawdly, to not just apply to the Trinity, but other essential tenants of the faith.

Job was concerned about the spammer in- " Is It Coming Here" thread...spamming "Black Lives Matters", stuff....etc etc...
It has probably been dealt with now...as no more posts on it today. :)

Sounded like a general complaint. But I agree we need more moderators.

k, but careful what you wish for. You could always volunteer! :)
And yet, as one who has been a moderator at a number of sites, including one I owned until the server changed hands, the typical rules for fair moderation precludes someone who participates in a thread from moderating comments.
At the sites I was member of it was considered prejudice to bias to reign in someone's comments on a subject said moderator was participating in with their own opinions. Therein they could seek to curb contrary opinions or as happened with one of our moderators, bully under the banner of that authority those they were in conflict with prior to accepting the post.

We are a pretty mixed bunch here. :)
WHAT is said does not bother me at all...HOW it is said...or rudeness , with cutting personal comments bothers me much more that the content.
I have been on Sites where there has been " heavy handed" moderation.
I don't like that much. A person gets scared to post in case they get their hands smacked!! It has happened to me!! ( it seemed that the only correct opinion was that of the moderators!! :) )
I have really appreciated the freedom that is allowed on this Site for content. Two thumbs up for that.
That actually was one of the first things that drew me onto the site, and caused me to stay here.

Those type moderators you mention sounds like some of the sites I've been member of. It is no fun at all. I too appreciate the freedom this site affords. I appreciate also the ability to ignore those like what you mentioned. The cutting personal comments and rudeness , personal attacks, goading. I don't think it appropriate reflection of a Christian heart. Thank God for ignore functions. :p Someone was kind enough to mention that when I first arrived and encountered such.

This is a wonderful place so far. :)

After you have chosen your faith it can take up to one hour to activate your access to the Christian only forums if you have chosen a Christian faith. Those that are not Christians will be limited in the areas that they can post.

This is the reason for the need for more moderators. There are people who haven't chosen a "Faith" and yet they are permitted to post anywhere on the site.

This needs to be taken care of.

no really, Job, it does not. The problem lies over there, at your ip ok. Not meaning to be rude here, but really you just want to make a law for others to follow, and insisting that ppl declare as "Christian" in order to post is pointless, as evidenced by the fact that you are obviously a Judge, but still they let you post, right? The point being how long before you are banned, if they are banned today? If they get banned, see, you pretty much force me to lodge a complaint against you, assuring ppl who have declared as Christian that they are lost, when you do not know, and have no valid complaint of wrongdoing against them

I see you changed your faith to christian.

What's up with that?

This law you feel I am trying to force on others is already one of the rules for posting. You need to pay attention.

And if you feel the need to lodge a complaint against me, than by all means, do what you gotta do.
