"DNA and human language are even so similar (see discussions on the applicability of Zipf's Law on DNA) that some enthusiasts imaged that our DNA comes encrypted with a telegram from a mindful creator, but the opposite is obviously true: human language is an expression of DNA just as much as our bodies are."

notice that when you find a new Right Pastor, you first have to adjust to their definitions, learn what they mean when they make certain allusions, or refer to certain terms, even though there may be large areas of commonality. a point being to realize that this is really going on in most of your conversations, possibly. and to see how you can unconsciously contribute to this effect, ya, ya that's it
or consciously i guess too, whatever

we have all heard the dead ring one of our egoistic statements has produced

This one reason why it so easy for a child to learn something new and so difficult for an adult, especially an older adult, to learn the same thing. Of course aging does slow us down, but all of us have our own learned ways of doing and understanding things. That new leader, pastor, preacher is in another mold. Some reshaping on both sides will take place before they come to agreement [if ever] on beliefs or ways of doing things because in the beginning they do not understand each other. Is this not an example of an unknown tongue being spoken without having an interpreter present?

This is definitely one reason why God will connect us with new people. There is nothing new under the sun, but for you and me there are some things we personally have not encountered before. People want to get together with the same old drinking buddies and drink them the same old drinks and relate the same old stories so as to remain in our same old comfort zones.

"So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter." Ecc 4:1

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26

that is one ref and certainly a clue to the main one, a pointer, a qualifier. It strikes me more as a condemnation that just happens to involve tongues, but likely installed just for that reason, otherwise the passage is somewhat irrelevant, as most any conquering group would likely not speak the lingo? So, an usual way to illuminate a Conqueror that is also a clue to SiT maybe. "Babel" struck me as the main one tho fwiw

“But the word of the Lord was unto them Precept upon precept, precept upon precept; Line upon line, line upon line; Here a little, and there a little; That they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, And snared, and taken.” (Isaiah 28:13) (KJV 1900)

Other tongues were always a sign of foreign occupation or exile in the OT.

I could not thing of any instance at all in the OT. Not any that would convince a sceptic... but yes..this one is my contribution..... Isaiah 28:11

"For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people. To whom He said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear."
This was a prophecy about the gift of tongues after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (see Acts 2).

But Paul also quoted this passage (with some modification by the Spirit) to confirm that tongues were a sign for unbelieving Jews to show that the Gospel message had a divine origin.

In the law [the Old Testament] it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.(1 Cor 14:21,22)
